Theres no grab handle on the front, how do you dump it away from the vent and safety support 5 gals while you do it? Do you keep your grip on the rear handle the whole time?
Unfortunately we were able to use it only once. The thing you push in and out to close the hole came off the rail and was not able to be fixed. Then the lever that you push to close the whole broke off. There goes your plastic world. We have an old one that we bought in the 70's and that one works like a charm. There are actually metal bits on it. Of course we don't have the receipt anymore so we are hooped!!!!!!!!!
You could probably take the broken "shelf and have one made at a fabricators from metal fairly easily and cheaply, I mean, dang! those things are fairly sturdy, you must have pulled it out or pushed it in at about 100 miles an hour to snap it..... You can buy replacement parts direct from dometic too y'know... !!!

If you are camping even a small watering can would work as a Lota. You can even buy purpose made portable ones on line to stash in your bag or pocket. I think shattafs are great, I thing every toilet should have one. 👍🏻
The thought of emptying this product literally gives me nightmares. Would dometic ever consider developing a composting toilet? It's a much cleaner and environmentally friendly option for campers
