I've had this board for the number of years and nothing has gone wrong. I really like it and it's very lightweight. I do find the sequencing a bit complicated though. To get around that I just use GB.
@@midhunm343 I know these setting changes are challenging at times. I can't tell you exactly but below the LED window, track control and over to the right a series of buttons that will if you go through the menus allow you to map or change mapping of let's say an expression pedal or even a sustained pedal. I cannot tell you exactly how to do this but you will need to keep trying to understand the recommendations through other RUclips videos. I had to remap my expression pedal when I wanted to control a layered piano and orchestra. I set the expression on the strings so it sounds more realistic. also another tip would be on your sustain pedal there is a switch that may help reverse polarity. That's all I can help you with at this point.
@audioproducer88 - That's because they're based on classic drum machines. The Roland TR-808 (that's where the phrase "808's" comes from) especially is one that is still used in especially Southern & Miami hip hop exclusively. In addition to this, both the Motif and the Fantom are pretty widely used among producers - sadly this means that lazy producers may use presets...and then you have drums and tracks that sound the same.
Okay... Thanks... The reason I ask is beacause I have a Roland FP-7 and that's advertised as a "Digital Piano" But it has all the voices & polyphony. It can follow my left hand & it also lets me record internally. Lets me play MIDI.. etc.. I want to by another piano for another location. When I looked at this at Guitar Center, I was really impressed! This thing was cranking out all kinds of backing tracks and sounds. It's just that I'm trying to determine if there's one main technical difference
@yamahapokkel Kurzweil PC3 61 keys $1499 and 88 keys at $2195. Yamaha MOX8 is priced at $1500, the version 61keys no price yet, but surely will be $1000, as the previous version MO6
This is a great board for the price. I've had mine for about 2 years and is my main practice and traveling board. I wish the action was a little heavier but the action is quite pleasant. I use it for the brass, strings, EPs, and basically everything else as an aux board and if I have to, I will use the piano. The piano is better on the MOXF by far though. Overall, you can't go wrong.
@sinsagoodmansbrother Synthesizers play electronic sounds generated from a sound engine that is completely programmable. Workstations can do this to a certain degree as well, but are more of an all-in-one for convenience. a WS is generally more expensive because of all the features/sounds it has. (motif, fantom etc.) "Digital keyboard" is a slightly ambiguous term. I think of wood paneled keyboards that have nice keys and are used for practicing when you don't have an acoustic piano.
How do you queue intros and endings? You have this amazing performance device, and the only way to end the arpeggio is by hitting the ARP ON/OFF button. Please tell me there is a way to end my performance gracefully!
Does anyone know why on the MOXF6 when using any Trance (i.e. Brachial Wobbling [USR: 058 (d10)], etc.) in MASTER mode, once you press the C2 key, it remains on even when pressing any other piano key or playing a different chord? It just stays on the entire time no matter what. Again, this only happens with all patches for trance . Any help is appreciated. Also, I have not reprogrammed any banks, and following this video, I do not see some of these patches. For instance, @ [3:23] "Triathlon: USR2: 007 (A07)" is used. I can't find that anywhere on my MOXF6.
Many thanks for nice explanation. However, I just wonder after creating a new performance where I shoul save it whitout destroying (replace) other already performances. It seems that all user banks 1 2 & 3 are used. Do I have "free" memory to save new information?. Please help me
Thanks for a good synth i really like this one wherry much. I had a problem (guess i found it at the manual) but i dont wanna use that big bible. my problem is how did i change key range of my always programmed patch (for example preset 1/4) i had it now from range of keyboard C1-C2 that means one octave i want it at 2 octaves. last of all is how did i save my own performence ( idont use a computer i had a extended usb memory And sorry for my bad eglish!!
IT GOES LIKE THIS 1 YAMAHA 2 KORG 3 ROLAND PERIOD I VISIRED GUITAR CENTER FEW DAYS AGOAND I COULN'T BELIVE THAT FANTOM G 6,7,8 COSTS MORE THAN KRONOS AND MOTIF WHAT THE HELL
I have a question about this synth, I want to know if the card is sampling? I mean if you can get a ton of other synthesizer and saved it by plate sampling
I hate to ask a stupid question... But, can someone explain the difference between a synthesizer and a digital keyboard?... My Roland digital keyboard does a lot of this... Just wondering what the main difference is?
The Motif and The Kronos isn't a debate they are in they own category I hate when people try to compare boards that are completely different. The Kronos better pianos more expensive Better Organ More expensive Better Synth Control more expensive now the Motif great pianos better Ep and great synths and I think the guitars are better but again cheaper.
Can someone tell me if yamaha is making voice libraries for the mox like they did for the motif xs and so on? If not are the libraries made for the mo or xs going to be compatible with the mox?
I just don't understand why in 2013 Yamaha continues to put out great sounding workstations, but then choke the thing by limiting poly to 64 voices. Come on Yamaha it's 2013. 128 Poly on your budget workstation isn't going to cause a massive dent into your pro line. Quit being so damn greedy with the poly.
Can you make songs with the presets?... What I mean is... Can you sell a CD with them on it? Is it copyrighted? If I play a built in track and blow my guitar over it can I then sell that on a CD? Legally?...
What are you talking about ? Your saying me having an opinion is showing off .The Screen matters when your Navigating the system .that has nothing to do with how you play .
If i look at the current modx and compare it to my mox8 i feel betrayed by Yamaha. Not because it does sound bad. No, but how to handle a mox8 is a complete disaster. The guy in this vid acts like if everything is soooo easy and soooo nice...but its nonsens. Even the manual is a complete garbage. It has the size of a book and you will get lost because for some simple things you have to keep pushing buttons to eternity. The people that designed the interface/software for this rig did a realy bad job. It's a total userunfriendly sythesizer i have to say.
When will they stop using these stupid Tiny screens & link the keyboard up to a full sized monitor that most people have . Is that really too difficult or technical to do ?
Isn't this the left side of the fingered mode in almost Japanese digital music keyboard? hehe...well you have more scales and more functions...I guess? I been searching for a modest keyboard and found that it isn't because you lack the resource. It is mostly because you lack the skills/experiences. You lack the persevere of perfecting a song several hundred thousand times consequential days of practice.
this guy is fantastic at demonstrating
Looks like a arranger keyboard to me,sound's great
It only provides 3 automated tracks. One is for drums, while the other two is for backing chords. A typical arranger has 8 automated tracks.
I've had this board for the number of years and nothing has gone wrong. I really like it and it's very lightweight. I do find the sequencing a bit complicated though. To get around that I just use GB.
I have a problem... That voice's sustain cut problem when switching voice at performance mode

Cant wait to buy one of this. I love yamaha and i love the mox 6 :-)

I e had my MOXF6 3 years or so and I've not heard or seen a few of those performance names ..I thought I've scrolled through everything.
I don't seem to have any of those on mine. I keep looking for preset banks but there don't seem to be any.

my favorite feature on the other motifs has been the ability to create your stacks of layers. I can't find a single video here that shows if you can..

you sure make it look easy
Merci pour cette démo.
@garydupuis
totally agree with you! love this kind of sound!!
How do you queue intros and endings? You have this amazing performance device, and the only way to end the arpeggio is by hitting the ARP ON/OFF button. Please tell me there is a way to end my performance gracefully!
Yamaha is the best in synths :)
IF I CAN ONLY PLAY HALF OF WHAT BERT KNOWS!!! AMAZING!!!
aki no sale nada sobre como cambiar las octavas por zona individual ya que me e vuelto loco buscando respues ayuda por favor
will never exist as the sounds of the korg!
How do you play the background sounds (not voices) without the arpeggio?

Some features are also present in MO6. But this MOX has new voices.
That first thing you played(Dresden At Night) sounds like something Enigma would do...
KORG ALLWAYS!!
How to solve sustain cuting problem... When switching voices in mox 6 at performance mode
Thanks for a good synth i really like this one wherry much. When Roland turns the Jupiter 80 into an easy to use workstation-THAT's when the fur will fly......
Kronos takes the cake...I know, I was a rock solid yamaha guy to, until the Kronos Korg came along...Dang
The line between arranger keyboards and pro synths continues to blur.......
What is it's price?
The Motif and The Kronos isn't a debate they are in they own category I hate when people try to compare boards that are completely different. Yes Korg is a very distant 2nd...
@mysterio77690 It's very soothing!
Can someone tell me if yamaha is making voice libraries for the mox like they did for the motif xs and so on? If not are the libraries made for the mo or xs going to be compatible with the mox?
Bloody Expensive
@Liquadia1
