    This is Keyless ACCESS not Keyless entry (models without premium features)--they are NOT the same.

      Same here. Took 2017 Forester in for a recall on seat sensor and now the doors do not lock when driving. Looked all 3 screens and can’t find a setting option to fix it back.

    Hi - I have been looking at your videos and I came across this one. I had a comment - my Subaru 2017 premium vehicle did not have the options after selecting keyless entry. It only had hazard warning flasher in the keyless entry section of your video. Please advise?

    I have a real dumb question. Do you have the vehicles on or started to be able to start editing some of these settings? My 2017 Outback does not light up the dash stuff unless I actually start the vehicle...

    My 2017 forester doesn't have keyless access settings on that list. My drivers door won't open when I grab the handle but my passengers door open all of them. I don't have any keyless settings on my touch screen either. How can I get my drivers door to open on touch

    Is there a video demonstrating how to "register" a keyless fob to Driver #1 settings, #2, etc.? I've followed, unsuccessfully, the instructions in the owner's manual. My wife and I have vastly different seat settings, so it would really enhance entering the vehicle for both of us if the seat would move to the desired position upon Unlocking the doors. Thx! if you can help.

    It's not so odd--the reason why the default is like this is that if you are alone in an urban parking lot or sketchy area, for instance, you might not want all four doors to unlock in case someone is crouching down outside the passenger side door waiting to do something nefarious.

      You are right. That is the default setting. If you would like to keep it that way, you don't need to change it, however, I have had a number of customers over the years ask how to change it. This video was made to provide visual guidance for those out there that would like to change it.

    Hi Brennan, I have slightly different question. I have 2017 forester 2.5i. I had to replace TPMS/RKE module due to water damage. I replaced this module but remote is not working? also TPMS light is still on. TPMS light is steady now, before replacing the module it would blink initially and after few seconds would turn steady. Pl I can't figure out how to fix the remote to lock/unlock the doors and tpms light to go away. tire pressure is fine. Do I need to relearn the sensors? do I need to program key remote and transponder both or just remote? do I need to program the module? I am clueless please any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you. ..Jay

    How can you eliminate the beep for the keyless entry on 2017 Crosstrek?? There has to be a way to lower the volume or silence it. Thanks!

      A loud beep is especially bad if you are checking into a motel at night, going to and from the car for your things. It is SO jarring to people who are in bed!

    I have a 2017 Forester Limited 2.5i and I can't find the settings shown in the video anywhere. I can find the Car Settings menu but when I go into it there's no option to set the behavior of the key fob. I'd love to figure out how to set it to unlock all the doors when I press the unlock button on the key fob. Any ideas? I noticed you used a Forester Touring to demonstrate it. Is it possible that this is only available on the Touring or is something wrong with my software?

    • @GroovesubaruDenver
      @GroovesubaruDenver  7 лет назад +1

      The 2.5i Touring and the XT Touring trim levels are the only Forester's that have keyless entry with push to start. Your 2.5i Limited would not have the specific feature we are discussing in this video.

    Hello, I think you are the one who can help me:
    I Have subaru XV 2020 and I want to enable the welcome lighting (headlights to come on when I get near the car or unlock it with the key)
    How Can I do that through the computer or OBD or something else ?!

  • @augtrailrider

    I don't understand why, or if I'm just missing it in my set up, the vehicle does not lock when there is no key fob present? I have accidentally left my car for a mountain bike ride and it would be nice if after say 30 seconds it would lock. Almost all other auto manufacturers do this. If I park the vehicle and walk away it should notice the proximity of the fob (like it does when you unlock it) and automatically lock all the doors. My wife's Honda does this as well as many people whom I know have Toyota, and Nissan vehicles. If it doesn't have it that's fine, I just want to make sure I'm not missing it. I have a 2017 Outback 2.5i limited with nave, eyesight and pretty much everything else.

      Bruce Hasson I'm wondering the same thing. It's my only BIG complaint about my new Forester. First world problem, but boy I'm good at human error.

    • @augtrailrider
      @augtrailrider 6 лет назад +1

      I don't think we are missing anything. It just does not appear to be a feature on these cars.some argue that these cars are marketed for an active lifestyle customer and that this is an inconvenience. One even stated that they were locked out at a trail head, I know my wife's Honda that does lock within a few seconds, will not lock if the fob is inside, even if you have the second FOB and try to make it lock, it will not. So it's impossible to lock the keys in the car! And look I get it it only takes a second to make sure that the car is locked, but when you are getting ready for (in my case) a mountain bike ride with friends, the safety of the ride is forefront in my head so I'm checking gear and airing up or down tires and shocks, so it is easy to forget to touch the handle, not to mention that the key has been buried in my pack. So I see it as a convenience, though many may not. I asked my service advisor the other day and he informed me that it is in fact NOT a thing in the settings menu.

    For some reason, my alarm now goes off if I open the door with the proximity sense, i.e. key fob in pocket, reach for the door. If I reach for the door, it unlocks, but when I open it, the alarm sounds. If I use the key fob to unlock the door, this doesn't happen.
    Does anyone have any idea what could cause this?

    Where's the cheapest place to get a new keyfob for a 2017 outback limited? Dealer quoted me 450 which was too much. Ebay has them for $160 maybe. Then I have to get it cut and programed.

    • @user-hm8nh6th6o
      @user-hm8nh6th6o 3 года назад

      I got mine on Ebay using the part #. Then you either have to go to the dealership or a licensed locksmith to have it set up. It's not just the computer aspect but also the removable key in the fob ( if equipped) It was 60$ on Ebay and my dealership was 60$. Locksmith will be slightly cheaper.120$ total. Much earlier models you can do yourself on the programming.

    • @lifeisgood070
      @lifeisgood070 3 года назад

      @@user-hm8nh6th6o Yeah I ended up going the ebay route. I got 3x keys at around $90 each and think I paid $120 to have them all programmed and cut.
      The sad part is the cutting is very lame. They have to basically take like a chisel to the key as the factory key insert is laser cut and there's no way for them to cut a reverse key like that.

    Why would you show people how to make the vehicle unsafe? Are you nuts!!! Unlock all 4 doors? I think that having to unlock all doors so that power hatch opens from the dashboard control is stupid!!! I have even explained all the quirky somewhat less than well thought out features of the Outback to the Philadelphia zone manager (I live about 6 miles from Subaru corporate).

    • @socosurf
      @socosurf 7 лет назад +3

      Hey relax kid. I love this feature and I live in Philadelphia. I like the fact that all my doors unlock when I access the car so that my friends can enter the car easier instead of me entering the car and pressing the unlock button all the time. I hope your life is less complicated than it seems.

    • @RandiRN1
      @RandiRN1 7 лет назад +1

      First of all living in Philly that is totally unsafe for a woman."relax kid" Let say thank you for the compliment. You made an old lady feel good. How often do you other riders? I have other riders infrequently, and if I have to open the other doors, I just hit the unlock button twice, no big deal. I think that if you were female your opinion might be different. I bet you also walk to your vehicle never looking under the vehicle, or paying attention to your surroundings. I bet you never give a second thought to a van parked next to the driver's door. I teach personal safety to men and women, and women have an whole many more things to pay attention to then guys do.

    • @socosurf
      @socosurf 7 лет назад +2

      I don't know what section you live in, but I feel for your safety. Aside from all your blabber, it's insane for you to start your point off as 'Why would you show people how to make the vehicle unsafe?'. He's not forcing you to unlock all your doors to promote violence towards women. I would assume you get a rise of out seeing cars 'rev up' or 'gain speed fast' during review videos and start your comment off with 'Why would you show people how to drive cars unsafe?'
      Thank you Merideth, you have made my day and week.

      Over the years, I have had a number of customers ask how to change the keyless entry settings. It comes from the factory only opening the drivers door because of safety reasons. You are certainly correct on that. We made this video, however, to provide visual guidance on how to change it if you would like to. Thank you for watching our videos and hopefully you are finding them helpful.
