The turrets were made by Krupp and yes both of them were built by Krupp.
The earlier turret (what people called "Porsche turret") was designed around Porsche's proposed tank design that was never made into production because Henschel won the contract.

I think both are equally great.Tiger II P has the weaker turret but it has a lower BR so it’s fine.

in RB the tiger 2 P (or tiger 2 a) is 6.3 while the later version, the H is 6.7
because the turret of the A is pretty weak. however the H is also pretty useless in 7.3 and 7.7 battles so...
@@Thekilleroftanks uh what? The tiger two is the best heavy tank to get up tiered, best gun handling, best reload, one of the best rounds, and definitely the fastest. It does fine against up tiers, you just can't assume your armor with make you impervious.
@@casematecardinal it's not good at all, it's a bit above average. There's better heavy tanks out there. I personally enjoy the IS2 1944 more

@@krokodyldandi8722 Italy gets APDS AND HEATFS in low 5.0 and 5.7 so dealing with tigers, panzer and IS isn't a problem for Italy.

@@krokodyldandi8722 meh, aphe can easily be bounced and penetration can be stopped even in flat surface, APDS and HEATFS will make sure that doesn't happen.
@@elnewbie2611 but it will do practically no damage which mean he can still kill you. I had many situtions like this aubl shot me first but i still kill him. I don't rely on heat-fs or apds on lower tiers
tiget II H for me, even tho its 6.7, I got multiple nukes on it and I even aced my crew just playing (1800 kills on record)

It probably didn't make too much of a difference, but you used bushes on the II (H) but not on the II (P)
i forgot to remove them, also yea its pretty big bushes don't make much of a difference.

But if you want to be evil on a budget the bush that is a long green strip allows you to hide where your turret cheek edge is, meaning you have a better chance of them mis judging when to shoot..

The 2p is better tier for tier and I will die on that hill. If something can pen the 2p’s cheek, they have to center it on the middle. If someone can pen the 2H cheek, they shoot anywhere. The 2p has no weak spot on the back of the turret ring, and most importantly, can’t get creamed by 7.7s

It's basically a Heavy-Medium Tank, so just imagine a Tiger 2 that can actually get to objectives on time.
@@youngrody2386 no. It has 105mm, so a little better penetration (251mm with aphe), but much more esplosive (340g, much better than T29. Also better engine (900hp) and improved rangefinder (so it can give you distance in 2.5sec and at 4000m max range. Basically a 6.7 oneshot sniper with 19k repair cost
@@DanySdowo its also has a better engine giving it like 200 extra hp making it relatively quick, so the heavy-medium comment is still accurate

@@AFT_05G not a good idea just imagine killing tier III with a tier IV tank with br of 5.7 minimum, you get less silver lions for the silver lion hungry repair cost.
Yeah because the Panther is a weird mix of heavy and medium tank but doesnt have the moblity of a medium tank ( lack of reverse gear) and the gun of a heavy tank
I always performed better in P version than H. Maybe its the BR. But still I think the P turret has more chances on causing ricochets or volumetric penetration issues. Also not to forget also has a lower profile turret. But H looks much better.
I find that the tiger two p has a higher 4isk reward. If you know how to angle as an enemy fires, the shell is almost guaranteed to bounce on the side of the turret. And since its a lower br, if you can master that, you stand to do very well as long as you are mindful of Italian boys and other heat slingers

Tiger II P is slightly faster than H because it's a tiny bit lighter. Not significant enough to matter much, but if you really need the extra acceleration, you'd be better off picking P.
Personally i prefer the tiger 2 P as enemy's will gladly try their luck with the turret weakspot, therefore being infront your gun where you can shoot them.
Instead on the H model they're less willing to risk even being seen by you (and in the case of american 76mms, completely incapable if they want to live/kill), so they'll flank and force a position with no counterplay.
Plus the H has a higher BR that so wonderfully lets you face the 7.7 T-10 (T-10A i think?) Which you can do physically nothing about, whilst without the kugelblitz (for some dumb reason) at 6.7 you only really gain the jadgtiger, which is cool i guess.
I played both tiger 2s at 6.7. They play the same in a uptier, everyone penetrates your turret all the same.
Exactly, in my view the Tiger II P is superior for the simple fact that the BR is lower, there is no advantage to having a stronger turret if it does not save you from the frequent uptiers
@@ninds437 the nice thing about 6.3 is that it isn't always an uptier. Whenever I play 6.7 I always have uptiers, and I'll be lucky to get a 6.3 match at 6.7.

The tiger 2 P is at 6.3 and it can get more downtiers that uptiers the tiger 2 H is at 6.7 with a much better turret but gets more uptiers never mind that a good tiger player knows to play aggressive ang when to play support

the H variant is the refined one but 7.7 uptier is too much and it facec HEAT FS every game . Against WW2 tanks it is the probaly the apex predator but it stands no chance against the HEAT FS glass cannons of the early 50s

cuz the turret cheeks is 92mm(cuz it's sloped) the turret face is 100mm depends where your are aiming

105, always was, always will be. You get a rangefinder, 900hp compared to the standard Tiger II (H)'s 700hp, and the Sla.16's 750hp, a new shiny gun, and an extra crew member. EDIT: Plus, as Spookston pointed out when I asked him about it... it has a bigger mantlet, which makes it more difficult to effectively fight against.
True but very slow reload and barely has more pen than the standard tiger 2
@@Jugggernaawwt but the shell has a comedic amount of filler, it's basically a guaranteed 1 shot kill when penetating. A range finder on top of the nuke shell is pretty much bullying. Most cold war tanks have less armour making it even better.
yeah also a reload day the same as switzerland neutrality. The gun tradeoff is not worth it and the 900hp engine isnt noticable since with the 105mm the tank is heavier
The reload isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be, it barely comes into play whenever I use it. People can't rush your reload if they get one-shot by the comedically large HE filler. And if there's two, most of the time, having an 88 wouldn't change much. And trust me, that 900hp is a HUGE game changer, cause the 10.5cm gun isn't nearly as heavy as it would have to be for it to be otherwise.
@@obligatoryedgeworthenjoyer Thats what im saying. The nuke shell is so good. You have to play the tank slightly differently. More peekaboom, sniping or stalking. The 900 hp allows you to get to more advantageous positions faster. Huge game changer

I mean.. If the enemy knows where to shoot, you are going to die, no matter the variant. Br for br, the II P is better cuz it has les of a chance for an up tier ig.. At least that's what I've seen after so many games

Well, the Pre Series Turret Tiger faces good Matchmaking, the Series Production Turret Tiger faces almost constant uptiers in which it IS completely outmatched.
And Gaijin Managed to fuck up the series production Turret. Too short, and the angle of its side armor is wrong.

I fins that 185mm of turret arnour at 6.7 doesn't stop anything, but 100mm at 6.3 and angleable stops a lot

It wasnt APHE not activating, it was you that took a really bad shot and didnt pen enough metal so that the fuse would make the round explode

If you think about it the arl 44 has also great frontal armor but only 100mm in the turret coupled to a big ass gun. Exept the arl44 is faster

So one thing I notice is that before an update the tiger 2 p could eat missiles on the front of the turret but after even light tanks can pin it from the other side of the map yet when angled in the tiger 2 h you’re basically invincible even to 8.3 tanks

I haven’t played Germany 6.3 in ages and don’t plan on it but whenever I play 5.3+ on US I feel bad for tiger 2 Ps I see because it feels like bullying to be able to pen their turret cheek with basically anything

@ULOL Thunder most games work well with like under 50 ideally, strategy games, and WT to a lesser extent can play alright with more than 50 but I can't stand when it's over 100 in WT especially when you're playing with the higher BRs. You should look into changing your region settings to your region and you should see FAR better ping my man. Look at other people's videos when they shoot to when then "Ground Target Destroyed" and kill cam pop up, it's much much less of a delay for other videos from other people bc they have better ping. If you get your region settings fixed and get like under 100 pink I bet you'll find it so much more enjoyable.
