Coming up against so many M22s are terrifying, no matter what tank you’re in...
it will fuck you up, can’t choose a heavy tank otherwise you will get disabled, and use a too lightly armored one and you get sniped
Heavily armored IFV are the way to go if you want to fight numerous inferior enemies

I think a PUMA would do pretty well, enough armour to block the shots and a 30mm autocannon

i understand that the maps where chosen to favour the m4 and m22 because if it was red desert or the big variant of tunisia the ww2 tanks wouldn’t stand a chance.
interesting vid, but the abrams had the advantage with being in a defensive position. Swap the roles where the Abrams has to hunt down the shermans who are in defensive positions and it might change.
Fr the abrams had it easy
The biggest disadvantage the Abrams had was using his .50s on the second Sherman which gave away his position
In an offensive, the Abrams thermal sight, range, and mobility, and if that player knows how to use it would obliterate the group
@@ordinarydude2237 I'm not familiar with how buildings work in that game, but I hadn't seen any damage to them during the conflict so I assume that the city/town we saw in the vid of that area would be the most useful place for a group being hunted by a lone superior tank.

Only way he could have won that was to keep moving and hopefully not get disabled.

@@Nativeat1YT Idk just from first few minutes though you miss too many easy shots and were playing almost as if you were trying to lose. From my perspective at least. Especially when you started using machine gun fire when they still had 0 idea where you were and MGs wont do anything to shermans besides spot them while you have no teammates. So it was really confusing watching.
you def were playing way better on other rounds though
The problem is the Shermans knew there's only 1 enemy. They would approach the fight totally differently in a real situation where they get shot suddenly and have no idea how many enemies or what kind of enemies there are.

I think it could be really interesting to replicate the Battle of the Bulge. 3 M4A1 (76)W Shermans, a couple M18 Hellcat, 2 M4A3 (76)W Sherman, 1 M36 and 2 Stuart III light tanks against 3 Panther G's, 2 Panther A's and only one Tiger 1 E (late version with zimmerit). Who else thinks this would be really cool and interesting to replicate?
I've only really watched WarThunder short clips of people pulling of some amazing things. Never really been interested... But this whole tournament dynamic that you did in this video is entertaining. KEEP IT UP!

With a limited battlespace and bad terrain even obsolete weapons can deal damage. Tracks are still tracks and guns are still guns. You can't really harden those too much against being hit.
This is like a Game show from an actual videogame which is a genius idea...and as war thunder player who really really dislikes the Sherman it's a huge bonus

Due to War thunder armor mechanism.
Every tanks can be a threat to modern tank. Even a ww2 light tank.
Thats technically true in reality as well. Even a 20mm can damage electronics, sensors, the main gun, etc.

this was the first one i participated in, got a nice shot on the abrams engine in round 2!
This reminds me of the first Gulf War. Dug in Abrams were being fired at by T-72s and T-55s of the Iraqi Republican guards. Their "long shots" were falling 10 to 15 feet short, while the Abrams were hitting turret shots on enemy tanks.
At 11:32 if you pay close attention to the hit-cam, you can see that the Stuart got trap-shotted by a .50cal.
Rumour has it that the battle still rages on, long after the abrams ran out of ammo…
There should be a gamemode like this offically

This is an entertaining dynamic. How well would it work as spitfires up against a modern jet?
In fact, nothing is safe from artillery fire. Even if you're sitting in the most modern tanks. Intentional exposure to ammunition is unwise. The 76mm gun can still knock sensors and jam some parts. It may interfere with the operation of the turret and crawler rings. even if it doesn't penetrate the armor inside It will scratch your armor plate. Even if in the end you win without the crew hurt. But you definitely don't want to spend money on unnecessary repairs. everything is expensive Indeed, not being attacked is the best defense. Tanks are designed to withstand attacks. But your wallet isn't designed to make you spend extravagant things like deliberately making avoidable damages.
Those Sherman's don't stand a chance
With the right round it’s possible to penetrate the back of the abrams turret, as this catches it catches it on fire and has a chance of exploding a shell
Fire and maneuver is the name of the game. A M1 would fire and then would displace to another position
Abrams really should have repositioned after the second kill in the first match. Didn't have to let himself get pinned in like that.

The Abrams speed and ability to shoot accurately on the move would have made a much different battle. Irl
That Abrams had exceedingly good discipline. Having a superior tank helps but their performance made them exceedingly dangerous and skilled

No lol, I've had it for over year now. If I tried my hardest the video wouldn't would have been as exciting. That's the only reason why I pulled out in the second round. Got to give muffin at least one game where they beat me lol

In actuality the American government knew that the Sherman was really a death trap, but the talking heads figured that superior numbers over German superior armor was the way to go , only in the last quarter of ww2 did those fools in government decide on better armor and fire power .
My father was in an armored division in ww2 , part of a Sherman crew for a while and then on a M-7
With the 105mm Howitzer , not much protection on the M-7 but he said he felt better knowing they had a cannon that would kill any German tank if need be , and he said during the battle of Verdun ( Battle of the Bulge) at one point it was so intense that they had the 105 pointed straight into the forest in front of them , firing away , only to find out afterwards they killed 2 tiger tanks less than 50 yards from their position , he said the rounds from the 105 nearly went through the tigers , very fortunate for him and his crew because had a tiger got a lucky shot and hit that M-7 they'd all be killed, no doubt about it , the M-7 was built using the chassis of a Sherman .
I'm kinda new but maybe incorporate some M-7s into these hypothetical battles , I'd be interested in seeing who you'd have them up against

so similar to WOTB where that one time you needed 13 tier 1's against a grille 15. Everything sorta changed I guess.
I prefer 9 king tigers against M1 abrams that sounds much fun

@@itsalmostfun8567 well m1 abrams does have better frontal armor, and the leopard 2a6 has the highest penetrating apfsds in the game, so it would make more sense if the leopard went against the tiger

Abrams should have been more mobile and used his speed more in the second round. Stayed still for to long when he should have been moving other then that though 10/10 loved the video

Just a bit of nit picking here. The M1 is called the Abrams not the Abram even if there is only one Abrams. It’s named after General Abrams

great video although i feel like you should have used the M1A2 as the main tank or the M1A1 HC since they are better than the m1a1. Also the M1A1 in this video only has around 491mm of pen while the M1A2 has 629mm of pen
forgive my naivete, but T-34'S of different flavors VS a T-91 or updooted T-72 would be something it'd watch for sure.

fun fact about the abrams it is shown as the king of all mbts but the Leclerc wich is a french tank from a country mocked from giving up has a better fuel efficient. " It can travel 340 miles before refueling, compared to 260 for the Abrams"
The tradeoff is that the Leclerc only uses diesel while the Abrams can use a variety of different fuels, but mostly uses diesel anyways.
