Ranking every SOULS game (after shadow of the edtree)

- #soulsborne has been my fav gaming franchise ever since 2016. When I fully played through #darksouls , #bloodborne and #darksouls3 and after that I played every single souls game as they released and every year I fully replay these games. So I wanted to share my experience and rank the soulsborne games based on my experience with them after #shadowoftheerdtree

you're the exact souls channel I've been looking for, there's been so much controversy recently with these games so its nice to just see some videos celebrating them.
Hot take: Ds3 is the worst souls game. It has as much personality that a standard Y/A protagonist does, zero. At lest dark souls 2 has its own unique vibe and areas, ds3 felt like all the areas where rehashes or just plain boring. I get that it was supposed t be like a victory lap but it doesn't make a good game, dark souls had a dark gloomy feel to it but at least it felt unique. The environments were different and the aesthetics were pleasant, fast foreword to Ds3 were the areas were all grey and gloomy. The bosses were also uninspired. It feels like the cool demon designs and grotesque monsters, the different armored warriors and god like lords, were replaced with in my opinion the most boring boss roster yet. Sure it upped the challenge but most of them felt like they had no soul. I see why it has so many fans but i just could never enjoy it, also the levels are so linear and saturated and grey, in short the areas and bosses were it's most basic they have ever been in ds3 and that is why it's my least favorite.

i just do not agree with you that ds3 is better than bloodborne and demons souls (ps3) its one of my favourites dont get me wrong but i flabbergasted that you ranked it higher than bb and demons souls (ps3) and i played ds3 four times in the row and played every DLC in the game 4 times also...the level quality in the game range from bad (farrons keep, irythyll dungeon) to mid (the ringed city, lothric castle, high wall of lothric, undead settlement) most of the areas are mediocre in ideas, design and creativity this is why the original demons souls is better than ds3 and this is just one aspect of the game, i can go on and on...
finally it's a mid game if you actually take time to explore and enjoy the levels but a very good game if you run to the incredible bosses past every level every enemy and every npc becuase they all are really really boring.
So ds3 is mid because the areas are bad ? Are we going to ignore every other aspect of the game ? The genius conclusion to the dark souls trilogy ? The amazing bosses ?( that demolish bloodborne bosses ) the rich lore and story ? Cmon now
Bloodborne base game bosses are of the same quality as ds2 base game bosses minus Gascgoine and Gehrman and Logarius

@@Mop553 you spend about 70% of any souls game including ds3 playing through the levels not fighting bosses so when you make me sit all these hours without any interesting creative ideas or unique level design the game becomes boring until you get to the boss and you start enjoying it again. the most creative boss is curse rotted greatwood and it was overall an ok boss, and yes there are absolutely horrendously bad bosses in ds3 like high lord wolnir and and ancient wyver and to top it off it's the overall easiest souls game for a lot of people including me, The game is just not punishing enough (mostly because of the areas which are pretty dull in design). please don't get me wrong this is one of my favourite games of all time but it's just not as good as bb for reasons like better combat system, better lore for bosses,better world building,better npc quests, better weapons and some of bb bosses like the darkbeast paarl , Father Gascoigne, Martyr logarius, Amygdala, Blood starved beast, Ebritas,Ludwig, are harder and better in design than ds3 bosses,yes ds3 is too easy, for example fighting the Orphan of kos in Bloodborne is harder than the entirety of dark souls 3 including dlcs and bosses...
@@yoss3475 the areas in ds3 literally aren’t even that bad. Even then the truly bad areas are REALLY easy to skip through unlike demon souls and ds2
It seems that you either love Elden ring or you hate it, for me Elden ring ranks either last or 2nd to last after DS2, could possibly be that I just ruined the experience of the main game to myself, I’ve done it with a boss order guide open, main reason being that I didn’t want to miss any boss, so to me it felt more like a checklist rather than a game, also the fact that out of 120+ bosses there less than 10 unique bosses is a joke (even main bosses like mohg, morgot, astel, are re-used which for me take away a lot from the first encounter), the DLC was amazing tho, also considering the fact that I put unnecessary restrictions on my play style (pure dex, no consumables, no summons, no shields, no magic) might have taken away a lot from the experience
Ahh the feeling free explanation is the best part of elden ring. Shame you missed out on that first play though

@@Disco.starter I did, and I understand it's your opinion. I could hear an argument for DS3 or DS1 but DS2 is hot garbage, even in aspects of storytelling and level design. Cannot see how you came to the conclusions you did about it beyond pure nostalgia
@@michaelshaw3911yeah I don’t find sekiro level design impressive at all I don’t think it’s bad but it’s just kinda plain for me. Also I have ds2 bottom 3 if anything ds1 is the most nostalgic souls game for me lol it’s all opinions tho at the end of the day

@@michaelshaw3911only think DS1 did better is the first half level design and you could argue the lore. For DS3, only things that game did better is bosses and osts, level design is abyssal trash
