  • Join us as Garol and Jordan flew out to Taylor Guitars in El Cajon, California to hang out, tour the factory, pick wood and eat burritos. We often hear about Taylor's use of machinery and modern technology to build their guitars, but upon taking a factory tour and talking to all of the different departments and workers - you can see that it's way more of a hands-on operation than you ever thought!

I bought my Taylor in 1996, I started a band in 1998 & started playing bar gigs the same year. By 2000 we were touring full time & my Taylor was played at every gig. During one of our stops in San Diego the band decided to visit the Taylor factory in El Cajon, everyone was so nice! We were nobody, playing 6 nights a week but virtually unknown it the folks at Taylor treated us great, they did a partial fret job on my guitar and replaced my input jack, above and beyond. I can say first hand, they stand behind their guitars. I’m forever grateful.

Very nice to see Taylor manufacturing.
But Taylor please don't store multi tons of wood over a walkthrough door 5:20 😂

Normally I LOVE these shop walk through video's but no offense all I heard was...blah, blah, blah wood. Blah, blah, blah wood. Wood, blah, blah, blah etc... Don't get me wrong a little talk about the different types of wood is great. However, IMHO It would be much more interesting if more of the details of making these guitars step by step were shown from A to Z all the way to the finished product.
Then, have someone play that same guitar at the conclusion of the video for a glorious final effect. I bet you would sell a lot more guitars. Just my 2 cents worth. Peace.

While I agree with you on the topic that this video wasn't the best I doubt that Taylor has any concerns regarding sales.

Taylor probably shouldn't do videoed shop tours. After seeing how computerized and non-hands on these bolt on neck guitars are. It really turned me off interest wise to these guitars. Not to mention the finish being used. Justifying the money they are asking is ridiculous. They might as well be made over seas. Zero passion is being shown in the construction. And I do not want a bolt on neck on a high end guitar. Cheep and easy construction!!

You don’t need a guitar you need a job. Look for that first then you’ll be able to buy your own guitar. If you got a guitar first you would not focus on getting a job.
