I tried many different things now my x10s always goes on emergency mode when I turn it off. 🤦♂️

3:11 Note that the analog digital conversion vs PWM is information and NOT a choice like PhysID and is assigned by what gimbals you have... IE the X10S shows PWM checked vs X10 showing ADC. The way the OS looks it seems like the system is locking up making a change. Someone said the X10S could run in either mode but not true and Open TX is the same way.

How is that screen outside in the sun? It might be difficult to test that in the UK in November..
no problem so far for me, about the same as a smartphone.

How you managed it to get the green theme on the screen?
There are currently two themes available, both of which you can change the colours by adjusting the RBG figures of the foreground and background. Pretty cool!
I've just bought a Horus X10S Express and was almost ready to give FrOS a go but this video has convinced me to remain with OpenTx. I've looked at so many similar vids on the Horus X10 series but yours stand out for clarity and getting to the important points. Thanks.

Have you added in music yet? I was hoping this thing had an MP3 type system not the old WAV. Also, what folder do you add in photos too? I am commited to Open TX now, as the flashing process I hosed and cant get back to the flash internal memory. So... Open TX is here to stay on my radio. Love the gimbals as well. Keep these vids coming as you are leading the way. Good stuff!

Thanks for the info, I'll try to do some checking with Motion Hobbies to see if they know of any limits on the micro SD cards... Thanks for your review... I also think the new x10s that I have has a firmware date of 2015. I expect FrSky just used the older Horus hardware and installed it in the newer x10 radios. I will also use the Open Tx software but I want to know if you saved the old Horus software on the SD card? Can you also do a video of the process you used to switch over to Open TX. That may be of interest to other owners of this new radio from FrSky.

Is it possible to install FrSky OS and OpenTX on the X10S so that you can switch between the 2 OS, without reflashing the programs ? or is it possible to use an Multiprotocol Module on FrSky OS (and how to install this ?)??
No, you cant
The X12S has only one internal antenna, and one external, so no diversity between two internal antenneas there, but in this there should be diversity between the two internal antennaes, or if an external antenna is connected, diversity between the three anteannaes. That is at least how I have understood it.
Great video NJ Tech can you please do a video that show the steps to place thing in the SD card to uploading it to the radio. I am getting the radio by Tuesday and want to do everything correct and not mess up the radio. I am getting the X10S.
Has anyone try to place a percentage value as a widget that tells the battery percentage as it is being use up. I know you would have to calibrate the value to give accurate reading. Has anyone done this. Also I would like to update open tx to 2.2.2 or what ever the latest is be am afriad I might delete everything can some do a video on how to do it through opentx companion please..

Hi, Great videos ! Did your X10 arrive with OpenTX installed or was it something you had to download your self. I had an X12s but it had FrSKY program and I did not like that program.
No they come with frOS installed, you have to install Open TX yourself using the nightly builds. the links are in the description. I will do a video on the install soon :)
Fantastic...been running my XD9 for about 2 years now and looking to upgrade for myself and pass the XD on to my son. One question. Can one just load open TX on the SD card and then insert it and load open TX in that manner?
SKIDOOSH yes but make sure the SD card content is on there also for the x10 or it won't boot up properly. Also make sure the x10 is off during the flashing process
if its like the x12 then you can put model images on the home screen in FrSky OS as well

I'm not a big fan of theorical tests, but, what do you thing about disastrous latency tests of the X10 by Drone Mesh? do you feel it when flying?
Edit : Of course this question concerns internal transmitter ...
well considering i run crossfire, i honestly dont feel a difference from my X9D to the X10, and im fairly sensitive to latency. Im not entirely convinced about the test as there are just so many variables. Although the issues appears to be software related so im sure it can be improved. The IXJT is a fairly new piece of kit and frsky are pretty relentless with firmware updates for all their modules and receivers so i really wouldnt worry about it. Its not stood out to me whilst flying, which after all is the acid test. But ill certainly be keeping my eye on all this.

Is there anyway to use that sleep mode in opentx or is that something you have to configure before flashing over?
there is a screen sleep mode in OpenTX that you can program to turn back on using a switch of control knob
What's killing me is no one says how to make a second model I've been trying for like an hour to make a second model and I don't know how call me stupid I guess
took me a while. On the main screen, not in a menu hold the enter button down ;) then you can see select model page, from there hold again to select make new model.

yes you can go back to frisky OS by backing up the OS on an SD card before you install OpenTX. But honestly, you wouldn't want to, OpenTX is absolutely brilliant and nothing to be afraid of. Setting up voice call outs is very easy and the amount of customisations are endless. Don't be scared, its a great OS and a great radio :)

does this work for gliders?
It will work for anything. I've used it with planes and custom mixed for crow flaps etc.. Open TX will certainly let you do anything, that is my preference for this transmitter anyway.

Nj is there a place to get images to use or do you have to build each one in paint etc thanks
i just take my own jpeg and crop it down to a similar pixel size as the ones that it comes with in the images folder. Doesn't take long :)

yes it does now, when i released this video it was still on a beta build of opentx, not long after the X10 was released. The latest stable version is now out and you have the full selections of antenna single or in combination.

there is no way yet unfortunately, but so far ive managed 9hrs off a single charge on openTX so im not too worried for now.
What is the largest Micro SD card and type this will take?
good question, im not sure. you only need less than 2gb so i use 8gb and have a ton of music on there and loads of models, still got loads of room left..
the largest I've heard that can be used is a 32gig

NJ, how can I turn off the screen in openTX?
at the minute you can only lower it to min brightness, but ive got over 9 hours so far that way so i dont see it as a massive problem for now, at least until they fix it.
Oh and one more thing, is it have rssi warning automatically configured?
I believe so, ill cross check that though.
