    When choosing an electric Graco Airless Paint Sprayer,
    consider..
    What materials and size projects are you looking to spray? Occasional projects or all day, every day?
    - Fine Finishes.. Woodwork
    - Emulsions.. Interior walls and ceilings
    - Exteriors, such as thicker masonry paints
    - Even spraying plaster is possible with the right size, much bigger pump
    Alongside all that is the important consideration of what power sources are available, to power your Graco airless paint sprayer ⚡️
    Feel free to comment any questions and I’ll do my very best to advise.. Thanks for the support 🙏
    Regards Pete 💙

      I was thinking of woodwork because the hose holds quite a bit of paint and sometimes you have to get more to accommodate for that where as you don’t really need that much in the first place. The handheld one you use what you need so less paint left over. 👍🏻

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  Год назад +3

      Yeah that’s very true.. to give you some figures, the 7.5m 3/16” hose holds 134ml.. one option you could do is get a 4.5m 3/16” line, that solution would work very well with a cordless GXFF unit that you could move around spraying woodwork.. that would hold just 81ml 😆 ..another thing you could consider.. if running out of material, you’re nearing completion and don’t want to buy more.. once the hopper is empty, you can add water to chase the last of the material through the line.. just watch out for the water / water contaminated paint right at the very end 👍😆

    • @andrewdavies1813
      @andrewdavies1813 Год назад

      Now that’s something I’ve not thought about running water through for the last bit👌🏻
      I will get the 4.5 m hose because that would work better save having a big long hose getting in the way👍🏻 cheers pete can’t fault you.

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  Год назад +1

      You’re very welcome my friend.. this is the hose.. unfortunately the 4.5m is more expensive Vs 7.5m, it’s because more 7.5m hoses are produced, going into the Fine Finish kits etc..

    Hey pete cool video,that's a nice collection of sprayers you have there,after watching your previous video on the graco gxff cordless i bought one and its a great machine and fun to use because its so portable and convenient with the hopper,I have 2 kitchen spray jobs lined up for after xmas with it and will be using water based paint,would you use an industrial type paint for this or would a good brand like dulux be ok?I don't really want to use industrial if possible as its more hassle to use etc and has more fumes

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  Год назад +3

      Hey Eddie, I’m so pleased you’re enjoying your GXFF Cordless, you’re right, it’s quite a surreal experience, being able to move about and spray without a power cord.. it’s one of my favourite units 💙 ..Great news about the kitchen spray jobs, exciting times ahead.. it will be worth you looking at industrial waterborne materials, by that I mean ‘not off the shelf’. and is either spray only or certainly easily sprayed. I know what you mean about fumes etc, but the latest WB technology isn’t all that ‘nasty’.. Companies such as AkzoNobel, Renner, Sayerlack and Teknos have some high performing WB products.. for a long time I’ve been a fan of AkzoNobel (this video features the Aqualit topcoat) and I often include the link to the products in the video descriptions.. all from Holman Speciality Paints (link in description).. I’ve got some WB AkzoNobel products that I hope to showcase in the new year, some can be used single component and / or used 2K with additional hardener.. all waterborne.. adding the hardener will dramatically increase performance / water and chemical resistance 👍 ..Keep in touch my friend, happy to help and advise if I can.. regards Pete

    Another great vid pete. I use the Gxff cordless for most of my work at the min. I’ve been thinking of getting the handheld one but hear so many bad things about them. What’s your opinion on them as I see you use it quite a lot? 👍🏻

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  Год назад

      Ah nice, it’s greet to hear your success with the GXFF Cordless 💙⚡️ ..Yeah I am a champion of the Handheld Cordless units, they certainly suit the low viscosity‘spray only’ products that I like to use.. naturally spraying low pressure with .008 tips.. it’s when the units get worked harder than what they’re designed for that failures can occur.. you see I often spray in feature walls too, but I know the emulsion can handle 10% thinning and I can keep the speed down.. I much prefer the quick clean up of a Handheld Vs cleaning up a brush / roller / tray 😆 ..always a pleasure to get your contribution on the channel Andrew, all the best.. regards Pete

    Thanks as always for sharing your process and experiences.
    I'm looking into the Ultra 395 PC for an all around sprayer. Do you recommend this as a main unit? Are you aware of any difference between Classic, Nova and Ultra labels?
    Do you ever use the yellow "Low Pressure" tips for walls?
    Do you ever cross-hatch?
    I mentioned that I planned on incorporating an air scrubber or extraction fan on another video. I have just started doing this and what a world of difference it makes in the work area. Cleaner air, less odor and far less silica dust to clean up off of surfaces.

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  Год назад

      You’re very welcome, and always a pleasure to hear from you.. firstly, if you’re thinking of investing in a ‘395’, you won’t be disappointed.. if you’re going to be tackling a range of projects / contracts, especially on the slightly bigger scale, the 395 will work hard for you.. I chose a 395 because of the step up to a bigger pump.. .023 max tip, Vs a 390 and smaller still GX models that are max tip .021 (GXFF / GX19 being .019).. plus the 395 has the introduction of SmartControl 1.0 .. I think I’m right saying this, the Ultra 395 is superior to my Classic 395.. however the UK Ultra Max range starts at 495, with the 395 being ‘Classic’.. then the Nova 395 is North America (I believe).. so some model variations in the UK versus Europe and North America, partly due to UK 230v / 110v power availability.. don’t quote me, I will see if I can verify my answer 😀.. if funds / need for the bigger pump stretch to the 495, I know it’s a very well respected unit so worth a look.. otherwise if an Ultra 395 meets your all round requirements, you’ll absolutely love it 💙
      The new Neon LP tips are the same as the green LP tips, it’s purely a colour change to make distinguishing easier the difference between FF LP (green tips).. there is new WR LP which are neon in colour and low pressure (WR being Wide RAC.. wide spray angle).. hope this helps 💙
      Yes I often cross hatch a ceiling 👍 ..I take my time though, spray one way, letting it dry / flash off a bit (have a coffee 😄), then spray the other way to a finish.. similar process to using a roller on a ceiling, where you would look to finish across the light coming into a room.. much much quicker spraying ..it doesn’t need to be totally dry because no tool
      Is touching the wet paint, and a flat flawless finish 👌
      Thank you so much for the feedback on air scrubbers.. which make / model have you gone for ?.. certainly interests me 👍 ..I like the look of the ones that come in a Systainer box 👏👏👏
      Hope this helps my friend, keep in touch ..regards Pete 💙

    Hi Pete, I'm planing to get into spraying. Was gonna go for 390 PC cordless, but money does play a part. So thinking of GxFF cordless for emulsioning and woodwork. Also thinking of either GENTLIN for woodwork and kitchen units or Graco HVLP ? do you think GXFF CORDLESS can cope with emulsioning plus obviously woodwork as well?

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  Год назад

      Apologies my friend, only just seen this question.. The GXFF Cordless will be a great investment, it's aimed at fine finish, spraying woodwork, trim.. but can most definitely handle spraying wall / ceilings with emulsion / latex materials.. It's a great cordless unit for the P&D market, up there with my favourite sprayers 💙

    nice video Pete; can any of the battery ones spray Weathershield Exterior Matt? i'm torn between the GX series and the 390 Cordless. ( Tim @ Osullivan Decorating)

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  Год назад

      Hi Tim, really appreciate you watching the video.. technically with is ‘bigger pump’ the 390 would be better suited.. the 390 still has the same max tip size of .021 (the GXFF is 019, it is the same pump as the GX21, just geared different).. yet I can vouch for the GX build quality, being used for jobs such as exterior work that they’re not necessarily aimed at.. I know of excellent P&D’s using the GX21 and GXFF to spray the odd smooth masonry.. I can’t speak for Weatheshiekd, but I have sprayed Johnstones Stormshield, smooth masonry with an LP 515 (a drop of water to ease).. so yeah, technically speaking the 390, but a GX will handle the odd smooth masonry.. just not all day, every day 😆 ..the build quality and cordless technology of all 3 units is A+
      ..keep in touch, would love to hear what you decide.. regards Pete

      That’s a very good question my friend.. I do like the smaller hose setups and working out of a hopper.. meaning the ability to spray fine finishes with potentially a smaller amount of material.. so I’d say a GXFF / GX19 💙 ..an excellent, highly regarded airless paint sprayer in the professional market.. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the Graco GX range.. if budget allows, I’d seriously consider the GXFF / GX19 Cordless 💙⚡️👏👏👏 ..great question, happy to help and advise anytime I can.. regards Pete

    Pete, I'm not sure the subject of selection has been quote explained. I have a Graco Classic 390 PC (Dewalt powered) and I have Graco Ultra Max. Disregarding HVLPs at this stage. I'm not sure that if I had a GX21 or GXFF there would be any point in coming back to them over the Classic 390 PC. The Ultra Max is clearly in the league of its own, so no questions there.

    • @PaintHQ
      @PaintHQ  Год назад

      Hey Dmitriy, it was purely a showcase of what I spray with and a few facts about each, rather than why I choose each one.. truth is I started with the 395 as my main sprayer.. for the bigger pump (.023 Vs .021), and the addition of SmartControl.. the Ultra HH was purchased to compliment the 395.. then later the GX21 for that bit more portability, 230v Vs 110v.. not needing to carry the transformer around with me.. All credit to the GX build quality that it can match bigger pumps in working hard for the painter.. you have great sprayers in going with the cordless units my friend 💙⚡️ ..regards Pete

I was going and going over your videos and I can't trace it back. Any chance do you have this data on your hands? I'm trying to decide which sprayer to get GX21, GXFF or even the QuickShot.

      ⅛" 11.52ml/1m; 10.3ml/0.9m
      3 1/16" 18ml/1m; 81ml/4.5m; 135ml/7.5m
      ¼" 31.73ml/1m; 238ml/7.5m; 476ml/15m
      Hey Pete, is it possible to use 2 or 3 whips connected together. So you can choose the "right" length and capacity of the hose for a particular job?

      My Wagner 350 gave up on me (about a year of very infrequent use). It started leaking paint and there were not spare parts for it. Liking airless experience, I've decided to go for a Graco and after checking GX range, decided that I don't like plastics in the motor to pump assembly. Full metal is only on the Classic and upwards range. Very happy with my Classic 390 PC cordless sprayer. Got a hopper for it, so much easier to clean and smaller tasks are a breeze now.

      Hey Ryburn, always a pleasure to hear from you.. thanks for your very kind feedback, means a lot my friend 🙏 ..Regarding Grey Imports... the unit won’t be ‘CE’ kite marked, amongst other things it’s an important safety stamp of approval.. following on from this, there will be a power discrepancy between US voltage and EU/UK voltage.. plus if a fault should occur, I’m not aware that a EU/UK distributor / repair centre will want to be responsible for the repair.. whilst they could make the repair, due to the non-existent ‘CE’ kite mark and the potential issues stated above, they could be liable if they was to ‘put their name to it’... apologies if this sounds negative, whilst I could be slightly wrong, it’s not something I would recommend doing.. all the best my friend, keep in touch.. regards Pete

Using glasses doesn't really work fore they get dirty fast and obscure your vision; why not go backwards when spraying? This way you won't be going into the settling spray and your eyes will be just fine.

      Hey buddy, thanks for supporting the PaintHQ channel 💙 .. I’m happy to help get you up and running if I can.. the handheld units are great for small projects, especially when not over worked and perhaps used to compliment the bigger airless units.. on that note, in your workshop environment, spraying fine finish materials, joinery, mdf.. it could be worth looking at spending a little more and going for the GXFF.. you get the ‘true’ airless spraying experience, with a pressure gauge, flexibility of the hose, built in hopper, and airless spray gun.. it’s classed as an entry level unit but the build quality and reputation of the GX units is well known, I can vouch for how good they are..
      I could also assist you with the waterborne primer and topcoat I like to use for joinery if that helps.. I’m a fan of the sprayability and finish quality of AkzoNobel, the high build primer especially has very good isolating / sealing properties of mdf
      Regarding the GXFF (or handhelds), if you’re in the UK speak to my friend Mike at SpraymanUK.. he’s super friendly I and knowledgeable, with no pressure to purchase..
