Well done, Matthew.... you have no idea how refreshing it is to hear how much effort you've made in knowing much more than the basics. You've earned your tour guide first star!
Hot water machine 😂 is an electric jug or kettle.
Wow. Full marks to Matthew for researching your trip so well. Spectacular knowledge; adds so much colour to any trip. Loving the tour. Subscribed.
Matthew is giving History Teacher vibes!
Matthew is very knowledgeable!!
hot water machine 😂😂
LOL… 😂 Those electrical plugs in your hotel room looked like Clark’s Christmas lights plugged in Christmas Vacation! Great tour - thanks!
What a lovely family adventure!
I moved to the UK a decade ago and I was in awe of London...the history, buildings and people! :D x
Beautiful!!! I visited London pre 911 from Phoenix on a direct flight on British Airways. You guys reminded me of the wonderful trip and time I had. You guys know how to live life. Have a fantastic and fabulous trip😊
Love London! Thanks for showing us around. Matthew did a great job with the history too! There is so much to see in London! Can't wait to see where you take us tomorrow!
The West End is London’s “Broadway”, wish I’d been there for West End Live!
Great job, Matthew, on comments
Matthew did his research. Nice job honey.
If you like UK history visit Bleinham Palace in Oxfordshire and go to Portsmouth Southern England and visit the Mary Rose museum ❤😊
Admiral Nelson's HMS Victory that won the Battle of Trafalgar is at Portsmouth Naval Base and you can go on board, well worth a visit.
Regular buses are a great way to see the sights, I never understand why people tube it apart from avoiding traffic.
'A little coffee/tea hot water machine' 🤣🤣
Just FYI. Big Ben is the name of the bell inside The Elizabeth Tower. :)
Yes, it is the Elizabeth Tower, but most refer to it as Big Ben...😊
National Lampoon European Vacation! :) I loved England. Glad y’all had a good time.
@@SharonatSeaTravel The tourist map for the Palace of Westminster. On the government website. Also calles the tower Big Ben.
@@SharonatSeaTravel Correct, no one who lives in London calls it anything but Big Ben.
Go on the Uber boat on the Thames, and you need to get an Oyster card for the underground and, it's much cheaper.
Matthew did fantastic! Knows his stuff. Have a great cruise!
West End live is where all the musicals and shows have their cast perform a song or two from the show free of charge to the public. It’s over 2 days.
Thanks you guys for taking us on a great tour historical tour. Love the history.
UK electrical sockets use the type G plugs, whereas Europe uses the type C and E plugs (US uses type A and B). So it's not a European plug but a UK one, just so no-one buys a batch of the wrong adaptors 😃
Love these videos. I enjoyed Matthew's history lessons!
Wonderful video guys
Thanks...
Hope you have a wonderful time in my own country.
Thanks for the video. What an amazing experience. Would love to get there sometime.
You guys have the life!
Thank you for the history lesson😊
"London rooms are small all the time" oh OK, if you say so 🤔😂😂
wow so cool yall have lots fun over there in london on the cruise too
Making yourself stay awake that first day was tough no doubt, BUT, you did yourself a big favor in getting turned around from the jet lag sooner. I only made it to about 3pm and just couldn't take another step, which resulted in waking up at 2am, then before 5 the next two mornings. London is my favorite city in the world. Fun fact: "Big Ben" is the actual bell. The tower your seeing where it is housed is called the Elizabeth Tower. One of the things I love most about that city is nearly every building you walk past, no matter how humble, has a story. If it's a more modern looking building it's likely because it was something destroyed during the war so they were actually able to build something new.
Wonderful tour V-Log. Looks like Jaimie needs a Pint!
Statically it rains less in London than either NYC or even Orlando ,the rain in the uk falls mostly on the west coast of wales and Scotland
Great video! Hope you enjoyed your stay! Those planes you could see whilst around the Houses of Parliament were landing at London City airport.
Good to hear about Virgin Atlantic. Flying them from Heathrow to JFK next year.
Fun fact in Trafalgar Square is Canada house which is home to the Canadian High commission. It functions as an embassy but unlike ones in other countries the one's who have the King as head of state as well don't have embassies and ambassadors to each other because an ambassador represents the head of state. Instead the high commissioner represents the head of the government of the particular countries instead. The idea of a high commission was created by the Canadian government.
Great video, lots of history , thx Matthew. I thought Big Ben was a quarterback thou.
Hehe :D
Aww, it brought back great memories! Just to the Right of were you were standing, looking up at Big Ben, it’s a beautiful old pub. I think you would have liked it.
Ride the Uber boat!
Was just there June 2023, loved it ❤. Catching a Baltic Sea cruise next June on Carnival out of Southampton! Excited!
A great video like this makes me homesick 😂
50 years ago you could (and I did) walk along Downing Street with no problem. Sadly, there are too many unpleasant people around these days.
It’s amazing I can’t get left
The red diuble decker busses are regular city busses. There are also open top double deck bus services that are hop on hop off.
Kudos to Virgin on your flight. Loving this vlog series already. I love architecture, but terrible with history..Great job Matthew! Sharon whatever that was you were drinking looks amazing! Nice to hear you guys had beautiful weather.
We went to London yesterday for the day. We walked 23km (14 mikes).
I can't wait to visit myself....
Welcome...
Hey Jaime, thanks for the tour of London. Matthew makes a great tour guide. We are taking a TA over to South Hampton this spring. It was great to get a pre glimpse. Was this a spring or summer trip? It would be great if RUclipsers put the travel dates in the description, for weather and temperature reasons.
It was just 2 weeks ago. We got very lucky with the weather. Thanks and have a great cruuse.
oh wait... the doubletree.. thanks
So glad you stayed at Gloucester Road. I lived there in the 80’s as a student. The KFC by the tube station is very well known to me. Good memories.
Glad your enjoyed unfortunately nearly all tourists visit London, the united kingdom ( except) for London is fantastic to visit and very much cheaper,
Are you boarding the Legend in Dover? If so, we just missed you. We board on the 19th. Would have loved to run into you. Enjoy your trip!
Hi, from the UK, and welcome to my home city of London. Lots of history, and things to see, and do. Looks like Mathew has done his homework, he could almost pass for a tour guide😉. I'm sure you have all the sights worked out. If you have the time, you have to visit, St Pauls Cathedral, be careful though, they don't allow photos, and there is a cool tour you can do, that will take you up to the very top, and outside the top of the dome, you actually walk between the two walls, of the inner, and outer dome, about £30. And Nelsons tomb is in the crypt below, which you can visit. Anyway, looking forward to your next installment, enjoy😊
Thank you...We actually were able to visit St Paul's Cathedral the next day. It was our highlight of the day.
I'm confused what the name of the hotel is... is it the Cromwell ?
How many times have you visited London now?
Are you sailing tomorrow?
Britain has a different plug from the continent
Hay come up north see the real England no offence to the south but there is so much more to England then just London
I recently went to the Yorkshire Dale's. A more beautiful place will be difficult to find ❤
First trip to Britain you have to do London...I've lived in England for 10 years and I still find London simply amazing!
I live up north now because I love the country-side and the people tbh. Way more chilled...(I've travelled around a bit to Scotland and Ireland but I am totally in love with Wales!)
We tend to pronounce the tube with a ch not t so sounds like chube
@@djs98blue No we don't, no one who can enunciate English properly does.

Love London! Thanks for showing us around. Matthew did a great job with the history too! There is so much to see in London! Can't wait to see where you take us tomorrow!
