    For the error code you're talking about I was able to fix it by changing the PCV valve, I had the same error coming in an out for about 2 years and after research someone suggested to change the valve and I did that and the Engine light turned off and I haven't had that code again.

    It was a faulty earth causing the shaking, tighten the 13mm nut directly below the fuse you replaced, the one that earths the starter motor. Thanks for the video, it really helped me find the problem

      Honestly I can’t explained why or how this work because I tested the old and new one as well. I checked what I could check which was continuity. I didn’t however check what the amperage was after I replaced it and got the steering working.

    Thanks for the videos, Alonzo. I've had both these issues with my Tiguan. I had both the check engine and the EPC light come on. Multiple cylinders were misfiring. Replaced spark plugs and cylinders to eventually fix it.
    I'm currently dealing with the power steering issue. Please share the link to the multi-fuse part. Thanks!

      @@dustinborowski I haven't had to try it yet. My power steering only stopped working once, and I think it was caused by extreme cold: it was ~30 degrees below zero that day. But I'll try this part if it happens again. Good luck with yours!

    Was in an accident recently with my 2023 tiguan, where someone slammed directly into my right front Tyre, causing the steering wheel to be very tight, unable to drive - could it be the multi fuse or steering box?

    • @AlonzoCubano
      @AlonzoCubano  Месяц назад

      Probably not. Sounds like there may be damage to some part of your suspension and possibly your steering rack. I would dig a little deeper.

    • @AlonzoCubano

      Check for continuity across the fuse for the electric power steering first. Check connections to the steering rack (you can google it), check any ground straps for good connection.

    My daughters Tiguan her steering wheel light comes and the wheel rocks back and forth on its on and the tires move as well even while parked. When the light is one the steering is very stiff. Does this sound like your issues?

    • @medinasafeya1
      @medinasafeya1 Год назад

      This is exactly what happens to my 09 Tiguan and I have not been able to find anyone else with this issue or how to solve it! Thought it was the tires, got new tires and still does it! Please let me know if you've found the solution.. I usually put it in park, let the steering wheel rock back and forth on its own and then it will usually stop after a couple of minutes (maybe tire balancing issue?). Additionally, the steering wheel power light comes on like in this video too and for that, I let it stop beeping, take the key out of the ignition and then put the key back in and turn on the car and it usually works (although sometimes it takes multiple tries).

    How do I find this on my 2019 Tiguan? My fuse box looks smaller

  • @erikprilesan
    @erikprilesan 4 месяца назад

    Hi, I have the same problem with my 2010 Passat CC. After each long drive - shaking steering wheel and power steering malfunctioned. In my main fuse box, there isn't that multi-fuse like at your Tiguan, but just a simple ''single'' 80A fuse for power steering. However, it looks in good condition. Was your power steering fuse damaged or you just tried? Is there any other fuse, which can influence the power steering, or just that one?

  • @peggymacholbassett

    Replaced the fuse hub. 1st time driving it afterwards, the battery light came on, and in traffic, the car died. Jumped it, got it in a parking lot. Wouldn't start. Towed home. It started. Turned it off. Tried to drive it a few hours later, dead. How does the alternator suck all the power out of the battery? Or, what is draining the battery? Any ideas?

    • @AlonzoCubano
      @AlonzoCubano  Год назад

      First, can you confirm you have a good battery and alternator? Auto parts stores can test this for you. Also, did you try putting the old fuse hub in and seeing if you didn’t have a battery drain? Of course you’ll have to test this starting with a fully charged battery. I would need more information to be able to help, but that’s where I would start. I doubt changing a fuse hub would make your car die as it just passes voltage through it. You may have other power related issues. Start with battery, then alternator. If either are bad, change them. Reinstall the original fuse hub. Test to see if the car drives with no power steering issues. If so, the problem was your battery / alternator. If the power steering issue does not go away, replace the fuse hub and see if that solves the issue.

      Same issue happened to me twice!!! 1k cost to replace alternator and battery. With warranty I changed both things myself. And it's all up and running. I wasnt able to see why alternator gave out . Recharged battery and it's 100% ok. Autozone just told me it might have been a detective alternator

      No. My father-in-law says it’s the control module. He knows a guy that has refurbished ones but they’re about $600-$800. He said the problem is it’s a lot of labor just to get to that area under the hood.

      What made you suspect the fuse block?
      Our 2015 Tiguan electric power steering is “dead” periodically upon start-up. Power steering dash light comes on. No “shaking” like you experienced.
      Wait a bit and restart and all is good. Has never “failed” once car is started and it is functioning.
      Thoughts?
