Aiba Kotoko, third year student of the affiliated high school of Tonan University, was always in the lowest F class. However, she has been in love alone with Irie Naoki, who is a handsome student in the A class with an IQ of 200. After she decides to ask him out, she sends him a love letter but is rejected by him immediately. She is very hurt by this incident, but what is even worse is that a meteorite hits the house that she and her father newly moved into. After losing their new home, Kotoko and her father decide to stay a while at his friend’s place..which turns out to be the house of Irie Naoki! A love story of Naoki, a cold and irritable person with an IQ of 200, and Kotoko, an always bright and cheerful person. What will happen next?
I like how she says after every major event that hers and Naoki relationship has not changed at all but it actually did , its only her who doesn't realised it. 🤣🤣
lol this is so real
Do y'all realize that at @45:06 when Naoki said "I think it means that there are many ways to get to one destination. It seemed like you were making a detour, but you might find something important." Is perhaps the summary of this drama's intro? (when Kotoko was running around the city looking for Irie) It seemed like they were taking different paths at first, but still ended up being together no matter how long it took for them to find each other.
I swear my heart really breaks for Kinnosuke in this version and the Taiwanese version of Itakiss 😭🥺💔 There’s something about how their characters were handled that really makes it difficult for me not to love them
Yez!💔🥺
I will always get hit by second lead syndrome
This is the first version I have watched could you tell me the names of the other versions
@@moonlightstarxx4151 oohh mann where to start hahaha well there’s “It Started With a Kiss” (Taiwanese) and “Playful Kiss” (Korean) that I definitely recommend watching since they all have their own charm, especially when u consider the different takes they have on the story because of cultural differences🥺✨ Not forgetting to mention that the soundtracks are *chef’s kiss*
@@feltsonships3103 I think there's a Chinese version? I forgot the title
Maturing is realising that Naoki really loved Kotoko, showed it through his subtle actions and isn't a badguy, just flawed, experiencing feelings he never expected to have and can't handle
Maturing is realising that he really hurt her in these early episodes and it’s not just the general having a ‘cool’ vibe
@@chaewon6267 Maturing is realising that she's an obsessive stalker that forced her love on him when he was minding his own business. She chased him, kept repeating ily like a curse till he fell for her, meddled with his life, even blackmailed him etc- and he rightfully needed time to figure things out as he's allowed too. He never asked for this or to experience emotions he can't identify. Neither are perfect and acted wrong in certain situations but only blaming Naoki isn't right. Would we encounter someone like Kotoko in real life many of us would react like Naoki to her obsessive love or struggle with our feelings.
Anyway, that's my view on this show at 27. I think both are extreme individuals that help each other grow and learn. It's good that they experienced these hardships together.
@@chaewon6267 Really not sure about the purpose of your response or the "cool vibe" thing you were hinting at when I never said he was perfect, "cool" or that he always acted right? I was merely talking about his love for Kotoko. The thing is he doesn't even know when he's wrong, the limits, how to react right, needs to be told what he's feelings (signs of autism) but he's not the badguy some people make him out to be if you understand his POV. Maybe now you understand the purpose of my comment and what I was getting at.
@@sara1coco why are you so protective of a character, both of them are some kind of toxic for each other and their relationship is weird
@@mei8837 I was just sharing my pov as I watched and yes that in fact both are toxic not just Naoki but neither are the badguys. Both are extremes that's why they fit :) If it bothers you just ignore it.
I think he started to act like her boyfriend after the 2nd kiss (on episode 10). As you can see, In episode 11, he accompanied her on the christmas eve. He even bought the cake and chicken for her (eventho he won't admit it). And in this episode, he opens up to her and tells her important things.
When she was trying to say to him that he shouldn't listen to his parents to choose her (at 41:57), he interupted her and said that he wanted to become a doctor (at 42:46). It might be very subtle, but i guess he wanted to show her that she already has a special place in his heart. He always listen to whatever she say about him, like this one. Eventhough he's not the type who would listen without think about it beforehand, but still, it was quite sweet.
You can see that he was kinda unsure (about becoming a doctor) at first, but after they're talking for a while, he realized that all he wants is her.
Why does he suddenly become interested in something?
Why does he suddenly become concern about what other thinks?
The answer is her.
We can say that he fell even harder for her and he was aware of that. I assume he hoped she knew that he decided to become a doctor because of her and then she could figure out his feeling, but since she's kinda dense, so yeah... you know😂.
Ah one more thing, i know it might be confusing because he loves her, but he was furious when his parents said he should choose her. It's understandable though. I think the reason why he was furious back then because his parents (especially his mother) always pushed them to become a couple without even consider about their feelings from the beginning. Yeah, he loves her now and she loves him too, but they're interfering them too much. He was even suggested to become the successor of his father's company before they bring that topic and it made the situation even worse.
The way you describe it is just perfect!
I too noticed a lot of details like this but you went way beyond, it's great to see that someone likes this drama so much :)
A lot of people don't like it because of Irie-kun but even though there were times when he behaved in a toxic way, deep down you can see that he's madly in love with her and that his intention is not to hurt her.
@@sakuraaa_ Thanks a lot^^!
At first, i didn't really notice until several episodes. It leads me to find more details (his motives behind his actions, etc) and it just makes me enjoy this drama even more.
Anw, i gotta be honest that i also find him toxic sometimes, but yeah, it's understanable though. I'm not saying that it can be easily tolerated, i'm saying it because it caused by the way people treat him so that's why he's being like that.
I also find people in this drama kinda sucks sometimes, but i still like them after all. Since it's just for entertaining purpose, i don't really mind though. On the top of that, we still can learn something new from this.
@@dennyraaa Your way of thinking is very positive, it's good to see :)
I think exactly like you. He was very toxic in the first season but he has a nice evolution despite that. He and Kotoko are a perfect match!
As you say, it's only entertainment so we won't get caught up in everything either. The main thing is that we like the drama as a whole because it's fresh and really cute. I feel like even though I'm able to find a lot of flaws, I'll still love this drama. Kind of an addiction 😂
@@sakuraaa_ haha, yeah, same here🤣✋. Well, anw, i think Naoki is not the only toxic person in this drama. I also find Kotoko is toxic sometimes, ngl, but idk why people are more focusing to Naoki's toxic behaviour rather than hers. No, i don't defend on him, i'm just curious since she obviously has the toxic behaviour too.
@@sakuraaa_ that's true! The way he look at her becomes more deeper, he really cares about Kotoko 😭 ❤️
24:39 the way he looks at her makes me cry so much, he knows they won’t end up together but he’s still trying and hurting himself in the process:(
This drama is not just about plain love story but talks more about life in general. I find this version more realistic, inspiring and meaningful. Other version failed to emphasize the deep meaning of the story and just focus only on the outside.
🥺❤️
I agree the only version that I think goes even more in depth and is equally as good as this one is it started with a kiss. You can really see character development there as well.
Agree with you. The best version for me
Japanese version always make the best for me.
You can notice that the way Kotoko and Naoki sit in a family party or gathering has changed. Before, Kotoko sits on the same sofa with her dad, while Naoki sits with his mom or Yuki. But now Naoki and Kotoko sit together on the same sofa.
Yoo
i didnt notice 😱😱
naoki's dad: having a heart attack
music:💃💃💃
So true. I'm so sure his dad got heart attack and i want to be panic but the music made me think "is this prank or what? Why the bgm is so weird?".
Previously I felt normal when I heard it. but after reading this comment i want to laugh 🤣. I'm starting to feel the music is a bit weird too.
Yeah it really throws it off, even when little brother was almost dying. They should've left those scenes silent
Lol it felt normal when i heard it🤭
LOL HAHAHAHA
This is like the blosomming of their relationship. It's the time naoki accepted his relationship with kotoko. For her it was a one sided relationship but for him they are already in a relationship. Their conversations and her understanding were enough for him to consider her as his gf but things weren't that easy
i saw a comment here earlier ago, saying kotoko is so toxic for not loving kin chan, well if i were kotoko i'll follow someone who i really love, i'd not force my self to whom i do not love
The way Naoki's dad is literally having chest pain while funky music plays is just so funny to me
yeah I noticed that 😭😭
it happened when yuki had problems with his stomach too
He take another route but still end up with Kotoko 😍. He said there are many routes hehehe. He is telling his feelings for Kotoko but she was dense so she doesn't seem to realize it.
God, I'm this old when it made me realize that there's a subtle hint and theories about Naoki's love for Kotoko. (The comment section never fail to amaze me)
SAME. comment section always made me see things in new perspectives
I'm so amazed at how mature Kinnosuke is, he always tries to understand and always tries to be the bigger person. He know how to love and he loves Kotoko. However, I think Kotoko has that characteristic too. They both are emotionally smart, that's why Naoki always says that he is jealous of her. He did not know how to react to things, especially if it was new to him. I believe Naoki has a hard time making the right decision for himself especially in an emotional sense. He always finds the answer from Kotoko or other people even in season 2. That's why he said that even he can do 90% of kotoko can't do. She can try to learn and do it. But as per him even in a million years he won't be able to do 10% that Kotoko can do. He pertains to her understanding and emotional intelligence. This is also the reason they were meant for each other and also kin Chan is meant to meet someone that will complement his character.
kotoko, if you dont want kin-chan, i'll take him 😭
Gurl same😭
Haha same!!
But Kin-chan is really desperate for Kotoko thooo 😭😭😭
same i feel really bad for himm🥹🥹
Same!
I think the main reason that Naoki is not letting everyone else know that they are a thing while he in reality thinks they are dating is because as soon as he does that, his mom will demand them to get married immediately or just plan and drop a wedding like she did in the last episode. And he doesn’t have another conversation with Kotoko to make sure she understands is also because she definitely couldn’t keep their relationship a secret from his mom. His mom will notice even the slightest difference in her behavior and coax the truth out of her or her friends. And then a wedding ceremony is probably going to happen within a week without Naoki or Kotoko knowing 😂
It's hard for normal people to notice his subtle hints that shows his love to kotoko. Even I had to watch the series for God knows how many times 🤣🤣 and as I watched it over and over again. I find subtle hints so amusing that I didn't notice when I watch it on my early years of watching. In this episode when kotoko heard on what naoki address as an " ugly family quarel ". He apologizes for what she heard. But I don't think he apologizes in the entire fight that she heard. He just wanted to make things clear for her that his mad not because of his parents idea to make him marry her but because it seems like his career was decided even before he could think of something for himself. At his age , he wanted to explore on what he's capable of doing. And kotoko thought him that. And when kotoko is talking about his desire to choose his own wife for himself. Kotoko actually drops the idea of letting him go as she recognizes that he might not have the interest into making the relationship in the next level. After hearing and understanding her thought. She interrupted her and says that he wants to be a doctor. And he wants to keep it a secret for now. It's like telling her to wait for him to excel in the field he had taken an interest to work on and then after everything has settled they would tie the knot together. He also expresses that she might think he's thinking the other way but actually he's just taking a detour. But he's sure that he would end up with her regardless. After their wedding naoki expresses his dissatisfaction that the wedding was a rush. But upon seeing her walk down the aisle he accepted the fact that he might moving his plans earlier than expected. And he also said that his mom booked a wedding hall , arrange a wedding and a honeymoon without them even aggreing to it. It ended up taking a long time for them to register their marriage. As a man he wanted to make that company stable first , graduate in the field he's studying then marry her. But twists happen
@@zylamortienio7437 I can’t believe I only just saw this! Well said! Naoki’s poor communication is both his fault and the result of his over-caring and sort of helicopter mom. He definitely has a lot of room for extensive improvement, but he isn’t as cruel or toxic as a lot of people think. Most guys who would grow up with a mom like Naoki and Yuki’s will either just be a mama’s boy or an absolutely rebellious, disrespectful, and ungrateful child. The fact Naoki grew up in this environment, is his own man, yet loves and respects his family is a bigger deal than people would give credit for. Naoki is smart, but he is still a teenager and a young adult who is at a stage of literal trial and error to build his life. And his struggle with his feelings for Kotoko is part of that.
@@anyili3196 yes that's true. As I watch him secretly discovers his love for her. He begun to realize that things don't revolve on him alone. Him being the all knowing has get the best of him and made him arrogant but because his wife always had to face misfortunes due to her being impulsive he began to think that life is more interesting and fun if you were to experience struggles. Because struggles are what makes people alive.
Fact on last episode naoki is so surprised 😭🤞
@@mayumibeltran2643 he did because she was so beautiful
If I was Kotoko and I heard all Naoki words, I'll cry:)
It's hard to feel sorry for kin-chan when he did this to himself. He knew since high school she liked another man and he still tried to pursue her and is getting constantly hurt by her. I get having feelings for someone and it is hard to move on from them, but being a chef at the school and her father's restaurant isn't going to help. I want better things for him and I'm getting kind of tired of him constantly expecting her to fall for him when it hasn't happened in years. He needs to move on yall
Kin-Chan best Boy!! To be honest ill choose the one who loves me than the one I love, kin-Chan is the best guys ever he makes all this effort and I just love him, hes there when she needs her and he always try to make her happy like I WISH I have a kin Chan in my life like hes the best man ever and everytime I watch this my heart just shatters seeing him sad and I just cry whenever he makes kotoko happy, Kin-Chan best Boy!! 😭🧡
but kotoko did the same thing w irie. she knew he didn't like her but kept trying to make him notice her. but the difference is, kotoko understood that irie might not like her one day and accepted her fate das y she didn't get hurt as much as kin-chan

Watched this in my pre teens, in my teens and now in my twenties. I couldn't understand this part of the story when I used to watch it but I swear....now I'm relating to Naoki more than ever. It's only when you experience the words they say that you can truly relate to them and understand their decisions. Sigh
24:32 I wanna cry so hard looking into his eyes. They’re full of pain. The moment Kin-chan realized he can never be “that person” of Kotoko. 😢

This my First Japanese drama also n from the last 12 hours I am continuously on my phn without even reading for an hour💀
People telling Naoki is a red flag, does not love Kotoko, and whatnot when the guy literally made major life decisions based on what Kotoko advises him to. He went to college because of her, chose the same college as her so they could be together, decided to be a doctor because of her, and even decided to specialize in pediatrics (in season 2) also because of her.
Our guy literally didn't know how to handle feelings; since he was young, he was on top, he could do things easily, and everyone praised him and looked up to him, so everything was "easy." Still, when it comes to feelings and emotions, he is literally clueless, but if you watch properly the tiny hints here and there, you can see he is trying his best for her.
And during their married life, when he becomes hard on Kotoko, he is just trying to make Kotoko more independent and let her do her things on her own because he can't be with her all the time. Maybe it's his worry that if he's gone or something happens to him, Kotoko won't be able to move on, given that she literally made him her world; although he loves her and will be there for her, he still wants her to be independent.
i know the series is done, I know the story ended but I just really want someone to give Kotoko a reality check, tell her that love isn't the only thing that matters
Fr tho 🥲. Yes it helps in some situations. Because tbh my boyfriend helped me become happier. It was really hard on my own. I became a better person because of it.
She should've just moved on. But nooo she wanted him. Quite literally. But in a sense I think Irie would try to win her back anyways because he also likes her 💀.
In a real world situation most likely they move on (Which isn't easy to do).
And let love find them. You shouldn't really be chasing it. As it can sometimes backfire on you. And who knows, the guy you less expect you would like y'all end up dating.
Kind of usually ends up that way tbh.
More than three years of a one sided relationship is not healthy. She should have moved on once she left high school. So far I haven’t seen any growth in her character and her childish behavior is just annoying. After all this time, how can she possibly be this enamored with him still. He acts so aloof towards her.
There is a season 2
42:48 Kotoko was discussing that Naoki should find someone who he really loves and that would make him happy but Naoki interrupted her by saying:
"I want to become a doctor,"
Everytime I watch this scene, it never fails to amaze me. It's rare that a guy change his career decision because of a girl. Often, most of the guys should be dominant in every aspect of their life.
I can somehow relate to this, few years ago, I often measure if a guy really loves me or not... if he does, he would tell me his dreams (w/ me). Changing your career path is not that easy esp. when Naoki was in already in IT department. The amount of effort that will need to take just transferring from IT to Medicine was hard (though Naoki is a genius).
So Kotoko you fell in love with a genius and that's how he LOVES you. I hope you know how much you invaded his system.
♥️
3:20 this is the first time I've heard Kotoko said harsh words like "Unnecessary new student" 🤣🤣🤣.
It also means surplus or redundant🤗
Been rewatching this drama for years, hoping to find something new each time I watch it. I always love seeing super subtle hints of Irie's love for kotoko,
He becomes more human with every viewing.
As much as I like Irie family, I think they are too selfish.Naoki was right all along
Why selfish?
Yes! They're forcing their son to do things just because they want it that way.

True

Me too. Maybe bc i prefer pretty cute girl.
I think we should learn how to compliment people without putting others down tbh
@@Kirsten4260 they said prettier , meaning that matsumoto & her sister are pretty but kotoko is prettier...they didnt call them ugly or mock their appearence.
Matsumoto and kotoko reaction to ayako was hilarious
now i understand why naoki said she needs kotoko on S2 because kotoko is the only one who understand him. 🥺❤
After conftontation with Keita. Thank to Keita 😂
She is so good at comforting ong i feel like she's speaking to me
I have to be honest, i would go for kin chan instead. Maturing is realising that i want a man with efforts. Who loved me and who gave me the effort like how i did or more. I want a guy who can tell me he love me without me begging or asking for it. I dont care if he cant study or didnt go college. If he has a bright future, i will choose him.
Me too n I prefer a guy who can be both bestfri and lover to me more then some cold-hearth guy who make me feel worthless and begging for his love even I love him I’ll cut myself from him:)
Maturing is realising that Kin-chan's way of loving isn't better, stalking her, not respecting her feelings, multiple rejections, being obsessive (Kotoko too) and that Naoki's actually, a calm, good and flawed guy. His love is just more subtle and through actions.
@@sara1coco but on the other hand, naoki is also very toxic. Not communicating enough to her to make her doubt, even when they are married, he went on to kinda lead on the other women. Tbh i know kin chan stalked her and all but their relationship is kinda toxic ngl
@@Stayblank I thought so too but actually not really, he always rejected Kotoko but she kept pestering, following him on dates, meddling with his relationships. He kinda minded his business then she slowly entered his heart and for the first time he's experiencing feelings, emotions he never knew he had. It's like a computer that gets overheated if the code doesn't add up.
@@Stayblank He didn't lead them on tho, his cousin, he told her to leave Kotoko alone and the other girl, he told her to f off but it's true that he isn't perfect. Kotoko's and Kin-chan was kinda toxic too, it's the same relationship in a different font if we're being honest
Mrs. Irie loved the fact that Kotoko is loyal to Naoki. That's why she's encouraging
Kotoko not to give up on her son.
I am huge fan of this series. I am watching this series since 2019.
At first i didn't like Naoki's behaviour. I thought he never cared for kotoko. She is the only one who Loved him.
But after watching again, i started noticing his pov. His little actions for her. The way he looks at her.
People says that naoki is red flag. He is playing with her feelings. At some point, yes he is. But the thing is he never knew this emotions. Kotoko is opening his emotions and that's why he is feeling nervous, excitement. He started realising how important she is in his life.
He also tries to say this to kotoko but she always jumps to bigger things. Like his proposing for marriage.
He listens everything she said. Tries think about it. He notices little little details about her.
Naoki's mother, her character is very cheerful and kind but she wants to control her son's life. She wants him to get married with kotoko without even asking him. So naoki is afraid to take steps to kotoko. Because he knows, if they started dating, they will get married next day😂.
So i think both of them are understanding and completing eachother.
In second season, we will see the mature naoki who accepts the fact kotoko completes him. Also season 2 shows their maturity in relationship.
There is a saying “son’s Marry their mothers,” Mrs. Irie and Kotoko share many traits including loving Naoki deeply.
I actually understand Naoki. His dad gives him space but his mum is quite pushy (although she’s just worried about him). I understood his motives in the Korean drama but it’s more detailed in this version. If I was interested in something but my parents kept pressuring me about it, I’d get angry too. Sometimes I’d even lose interest.
As much as I love Kinchan let's stop pretending he's a saint, he was frequently rejected, stalked her, didn't respect her feelings, meddled with her relationship, is obsessive and doesn't get the hint. I wouldn't want some like that as my lover. He even wiretapped her conversations and forced himself on her
It's like, give sympathy to the 2nd male lead is become a trend ..imaooo🐸

I hope in a couple of years people will get over that overused word and accept characters for who they are. Even if you're the redest redflag ppl can change and Naoki worked on himself for Kotoko's sake.
@@sara1coco yeah ,, that's the point ... As for naoki , I'll said ,from the first of the drama , naoki was never that rude .yeah sometimes he was mean ,but most of the time it was for his jealousy, which is also showed his love for kotoko ..he always said he never feel that kind of emotion , so he didn't know how to handle ..and his character development was great for me ... But kotoko never changed .. one thing is that naoki was straight forward and accept kotoko truly, never feel ashamed for her ... But kotoko always knew his personality but still sometimes showed immaturity but it was also good for their bonding and character development... But truly I never feel any character was red flag... This version is really ...not too dramatic yet realistic and fun to watch .....
Dang. All of these versions has their own charms.
He wasn't still sure about his decision becoming a doctor when he talked to his parents. But after talking with Kotoko who somehow told him that he shouldn't listen to anyone but himself, that he should choose something that will make him happy, he became sure of it. Kotoko made him realized that no one should choose his path for him, not even his parents. That is why he said in 43:53, "until a little while ago, I wasn't sure about it". And then Kotoko asked him when did he decide and he answered, "When we were taking a walk. I think."
The tiny details that make Naoki and Kotoko such a perfect pair are so heartwarming, for example, when Matsumoto found Naoki studying medical science, she ridiculed him about it, sounding disturbed about his wanting to study it, whilst Kotoko talked it out with him, comforting and consoling him. When Matsumoto found out about it, Naoki didn't respond and looked somewhat annoyed and put down, but Naoki opened up to Kotoko.
He's still kind of a red flag, but in other ways they are still perfect for each other. Naoki can't express his emotions well, which makes him come off as cold, but no matter how many times he is cold to Kotoko, she keeps loving him. He needs that kind of love.
I love how everyone in the comments deeply analyzes the series because that’s what it really takes to enjoy this show. If you watch this empty minded you may think Kotoko is just a dumb girl with dim feelings towards a horrid guy when it’s deeper.
This girl is really silly but cute at the same time. The guy really liked her but obviously too egoist to accept besides he wants to be independent probably felt challenged by kin chan on the graduation party. Anyhow I enjoy the drama very much and love how their friendship progress
Since nobody else is saying it… THAT SLAP WAS SO PERSONAL OMG

Kin-chan really gets my 2nd lead syndrome however, I can't blame for Kotoko for still pursuing Naoki. Why? She's liked the man for years, 2 years or more, while Kin-chan has been liking Kotoko for 6 years.
If there's a probability Kotoko will like Kin-chan, it could've have been YEARS AGO way before she met Naoki since she saw him on their high school entrance program, right? Kin-chan didn't realize that even before she met Irie.
Anyways, Kinnosuke and Kotoko are just the same, with them still pursuing the one they like for years but in Kotoko's end, her love was reciprocated. [SPOILER] Kin-chan got his happy ending with someone who loves him more than he loves the person themself and that's what matters. Two got their own little happy endings :)
Don't be mad at Kotoko for still pursuing Naoki. It will hurt Kinnosuke more if she tried and pushed herself for her to like him.
I feel so bad for kinnosuke he is a very good person ❤❤❤❤
Y'all having a debate on who's better and not when all of them are red flags haha.
Exactly my thought 😂
I think this version made iries actions less toxic? Or maybe its just the actors way of portraying naoki, but he definitely comes off more as a quiet introvert who is socially stunted, while in the manga/anime he comes off as arrogant, condescending, and downright cruel in some parts. Im saying this as someone who LIKES irie and kotoko together.
I feel like this drama puts a huge emphasis on the little ways irie shows his affection (gift giving, physical touch, and most definitely acts of service.) For this, i think a big reason why kotoko and irie clash is bc their love languages are different which causes miscommunication.
I have no issue with a male lead having problematic qualities, and i still do like irie from the manga, but i think this drama makes a lot of small positive changes for his character that paints him in a better light.
Yuki and Kotoko playfighting like real siblings is like the cutest thing ever omg my heart,,
Edit: welp that turned out to be poor phrasing lol forgot that this was probably gonna be the episode with the literal heart attack... Anyway all of them just crowding around Shigeki making a fuss when he is like literally clutching at his chest after having fallen over and very clearly having a heart attack was so fucking stressful, like ya'll, you're wasting time and that could cost him his life!! There was a sec there where it looked like Shigeo was gonna pull out his phone to call an ambulance and I was so relieved for a sec then he just. Didn't and continued to panic nfjsnxis like. I know this story and I know Shigeki comes out of this just fine (and iirc lives at the very least to see his granddaughter?) but them just. Wasting precious time in such a critical medical situation was unbearable!! Sure you shouldn't rush and call an ambulance over every little thing but like. Yah someone literally falling over while clutching his chest seems to be a pretty clear indicator that it's time for an ambulance!!! Obviously this is all just like. For drama but it made me so unnecessarily stressed to see it cksnoxjs
NOT THE MUSIC WHEN NAOKI'S DAD HAVING A HEART ATTACK 💀💀💀
One thing ive noticed in this version is that the secondary characters are really charming as well. No other adaptation tried hard with the secondary characters, but they are essential to the storyline so i would like to appreciated the actors and the makers for making so much effort with every single character.
Like Kin chan for example, no other adaptation did justice to his character the way this one did. You can actually see how he could have been a possibility for kotoko because he is charming but we know as viewers that he isnt for kotoko. Him and chris had lovely chemistry.
The Thai version develops the rival character (king) the fullest and he gets the closest to taliw (Kotoko) of all. That was the last version I watched of all of them and didn’t expect much more than the others but it was worth the time spent.
feeling sad for kin chan's😭
the father is my favorite here !!
His mother scares me a bit with those photos like 😂
Thank you! Please upload more episodes! I beg to please do not delete or set private the previous episodes 🙏🙏🙏 please. We love to watch it again and again 💖
Kin-chan is so good in this version, I didn't care for him much in the anime or manga but they really fleshed him out and made him so loveable. I am still ride or die for Irie but Kin really is a cutie pie...
adding him to witness the christmas party scene was SO SO evil. He was so excited and cute I hated every second of it lmao!!! leave my baby alone!!!!! 😭😭😭
That scene was to drive the point home to him that Kotoko will never be his.
I felt so sad for kin Chan in episode 11 he made foods for her and even bought a Santa costume 😢 he doesn’t deserve it😢😢
He actually deserve it cuz Kotoko and Naoki is better
Did anyone notice that naoki position at family time is changing as he is coming closer to her
Naoki really looks at Kotoko with so much love. I noticed this from last episode. Woah!!!
kinnosuke is one of my favorite characters, I don't remember the kinnosuke from the anime being developed like this, he's so wise sometimes, it makes me sad that his love doesn't love him back :/
Open everytime irie naoki birthday, so this November need to watch.
i surely love naoki and kotoko . ki-chan . 🥰😍 rewatching it over and over again and again . hahahaa
Naoki modeling while his father was in such pain.
I would take kin-chan, it doesn't rlly matter abt the looks. He's literally perfect as a bf😭😭❤️❤️
I ship kotoko and iries together, but I feel so bad for kinnosuke. He shows so much love for kotoko 😭💞
I feel the pain in kinchan🤧🤧🤧
I understand that you all want kin chan but if they will end up together, they will both look crazy, because they have almost the same personality, day dreaming, overacting and all haha!. Kotoko is perfect for Naoki, and Chris in season 2 is perfect for Kin Chan.
I haven't gotten that part yet.. why do I feel like she's going to be somewhat like Naoki?
@@denyshernandez505she is, but at the same time she isn't like Naoki. She's quite a bit eccentric & very determined like Kotoko, Chris is the best character in the season 2😂
I'd want Kinnosuke to be my boyfriend though... If I had to pick out of the two
Same😢
Me too
the way he looks at her just brings up painssssss
My heart breaks seeing kin-Chan being sad and not like himself ;(((
i swear, i'd be glad to give kin-chan a hug anytime.
Damn Kotoko has no interests other than Naoki xd She's kind of toxic if you think about it...
46:50 only they could put such music when someone’s dying 😂
i love this series and it's like my 7th repeating it, but i can't with kotoko's dense braincells,,, HE'S LITERALLY TELLING YOU HE LOVES YOU
21:27 I hate that mindset. Kotoko made Naoki her whole world to the point that everything she does in life revolves around him. That's "codependency", and it's very toxic.
"Even if you end up sticking together until death do you part, you shouldn’t make one person your whole world because you’re supposed to be your own person. Love isn’t supposed to take away your personality or your dreams for the future. You can still act as a team while acting an individual. You can still take your partner’s opinion into consideration when making opinions without letting them rule over you.
You shouldn’t be putting pressure on this person to be responsible for every ounce of your happiness. That’s not fair to them. And it’s not healthy for you."
But it is a fictional love story..in reality no one would be so clingy like Kotoko..It is fun to watch how Kotoko acts but don't mix it up with reality..that's it
The detour comment naoki made could be for kotoko as a way to reassure her that she'll get to her destination eventually but I feel like the makers also implied another thing here:
Naoki already loves kotoko by this point. He has also acknowledged it to himself and attempted to confess twice. But then his parents pull the whole planning the trajectory of his life stunt. Mainly his mother stating that she "chose" kotoko for him. This basically implied that whether naoki likes kotoko or not is irrelevant. Obviously his mother did not mean it that way, she actually meant that kotoko is good for him but her drunken state made her less...tactful about it. I mean bear in mind here that naoki has only just just fallen in love. Its a very initial stage of his love. He does plan on being with kotoko but not according to his mom's pre planned schedule. So him looking at the path leading to the station, then choosing another route but still ending up at the station (the detour) also implied that he knows his destiny is with kotoko but he wants to map his own way to her. The station is kotoko. The straightforward route is his mom's planning of his life. And the detour he takes is him taking it into his own hands. But ultimately, he is ending up at the station. That's my take on it atleast
father about to faint
meanwhile the music be like:💃🏻🎤💃🏻🎤💃🏻🎤💃🏻🎤
The only topic i can mostly see in this com sec is literally people saying kin-chan deserves better etc. But all i can think of is he should just give up and stop persuading kotoko to like him well he can still find his true love on season 2 . (Aka. Christine Robbins)
I really like kotoko she's just like the kotoko from the anime
Nauki way of saying”I love you to Kotoko is” I want to become a doctor ❤😂😂😂
Their family is the best part
2:58
Sorry girly😏, but his heart is already won 🏆❤😆
Naoki irie is so in love, he made sure to spend Christmas eve with kotoko. And not only thatz he also brought cake and fried chicken, both are apparently a big deal for couples spending Christmas together in japan. Then there's the way he stared at her intently while she made a wish and blew out the candles....it's like he simply couldn't help it. He was mesmerised by her. He probably knew the minute he saw kotoko's friend that she would be alone at home. He wasnt carrying anything then, which means he bought everything afterwards and was going to celebrate it with her no matter what. For an introvert like naoki, that is a big deal. I wonder what would have been kotoko's reaction had she looked up even once and seen the intensity of naoki's gaze.
Naoki's anger in this episode isn't because he doesn't envision a future with kotoko. We already know that he fell for her when he decided to go to the same uni as her. The reason he's angry is, as he stated before in the last episode, he doesn't want his life to be controlled by his mom. He wants to do pursue kotoko at his own pace and his mom is straight away deciding for him that he MUST marry kotoko. Had his mom phrased it differently, he might not have been so anjoyed. But the way his parents started planning the trajectory of his life, ofcourse he was going to react. Afterall, if he truly did not plan on being with kotoko, why did walk with her right after his mom mentioned marriage with her? Why did he take a longer route to the station and prolong their time together? Naoki isnt really that complicated of a character. He's behaving as any normal person would if they were to be told that their life has been planned ahead to the tiniest detail. His reaction is justified.
He's just realised his love for kotoko and he knows his mom. Knows she'll push them into things before he has fully analysed his feelings
I mean, the way naoki's mom put it, it's like his feelings don't matter. She keeps saying I chose kotoko for you, there's a reason why I chose her. Then his father says you shouldn't just marry for love. It can anger anyone. They aren't asking him to marry kotoko because they see that he likes her. Obviously we as viewers know that the reason his mom is so fixated on kotoko is because she sees her son become a more human like person when kotoko is around. Buy to say stuff like I chose her is simply the wrong way to go about it. That is why naoki lashed out. Not because of who they were talking about, but because he could feel his life being controlled and he felt suffocated
I feel bad for kin chan. He make so much effort. Kotoko if you dont want kin chan i will gladly take him π_π
24:39 this scene is very heart-broken I can't watch kin-chan in that pain he's so caring he notice every single thing about kotoko only first sided love can heart like this : ( 💔
I feel so bad for kinchan☹️
