About 20+ years ago, my Dad had a couple of opportunities to meet Clay at Grand Bend Dragway... The first time, he gave him a Piston rod... A couple years later, Clay gave my dad a tour of the trailer and when dad asked for a piston for the rod, Clay didn't have one... Instead he mailed one at his cost. An absolute gentleman and professional. We lost Dad 5 years ago, but he so appreciated Clay's kindness. Cheers for this great insight 1320!!

You're awesome Clay Millican! My buds and I were at Huntsville, Alabama when you won the $101,000 Top Fuel Shoot Out way back when. @Z Family... I worked as a “part time” (vacancy fill-in) crew member on a T/F team in the early 80s. What I always found amazing being on the starting line was how easy it was to lose a shoe on that tacky track surface...!

I do a lot of welding on a friends drag car and he’s met Clay many times at the big races. My buddies son is a senior in high school and all in on drag racing and Clay took them around multiple times their area. He seems like such a wonderful guy to be around. Always a smile.
I’ve been to a number of NHRA Events asa spectator. I have never been that close to a team and their pits. Thanks for doing this video.
Clay is such an awesome guy you smile just watching him. Hope he’s doing well
I remember going to Atco, Maple Grove, Englishtown etc, in mid to late 80s. At that time Top Fuel dragsters were chasing 5sec. 1/4 miles. I remember the sites and smells in the oits, Kenny Berstein, Prudolhme, Big Daddy, Shirly Muldowmey.... This is really incredible. I could watch this stuff for hours, Salute 1320
This has got to be one of my very favorite 1320videos. Thank you Kyle and team for bringing me to so many places and to meet so many folks that love the sport of racing.
LOVED it, great perspective and behind the scenes. Thank you!
Most people cannot even begin to fathom what caliber of a driver it takes to drive these cars. The driver having his hands full is a understatement. Thank you for this awesome behind the scenes video. Definitely a top notch crew and driver there.
Bruce is cool AF, much respect for the knowledge and the ability to convey it to others 👏 👌
You're awesome Clay Millican! My buds and I were at Huntsville, Alabama when you won the $101,000 Top Fuel Shoot Out way back when. That's the only time we were blessed to be 20' away from a Top Fuel Dragster when it left the starting line. I was trippen because there were hardly any spectators!?!? What an experience that was and it's on our bucket list to hopefully experience again one day! 1320 Video is an AWESOME You Tube channel. Thank you guys for taking the time to let 1320 video and do a spread on what it takes to keep Top Fuel alive and competitive!!
That was the best 1320 video I have seen👍. That video just taught a 56 year old drag racing fan what’s it’s all about in the top fuel world! This video should be on TV. Well done 👍👍🇺🇸
This is how ppl who love/like thier carries look? What a AWSOME way to make a living!
I was privileged to get to stand by the Christmas tree at a NHRA event when our company sponsored a top fueler. It was insane. Like standing in a super-heated tornado with my eyes vibrating so hard I could not see for the first 2 seconds.
Lol isn't it nuts? Even in the stands when the Top Fuel cars roar past, you almost can not breath cause the air has so much vibration in it
@Z Family... I worked as a “part time” (vacancy fill-in) crew member on a T/F team in the early 80s. What I always found amazing being on the starting line was how easy it was to lose a shoe on that tacky track surface...!
@@tommysaulter9171 So very true! I was also covered in rubber specs that I still can't get out of the event shirt I wore.
@@Washman-jw3hl Absolutely! Couple that with the nitro methane fumes and its nuts.
@@ericzaddock a little fun fact for you... During pit warmups and startups after round tear downs, that white smoke that fills the air isn’t oil/nitromethane mix... Nope... What it is, is residuals from burnt nitromethane, which chemists refer to as Nitric Acid... That’s what makes eyes burn and noses run...!!!
Clay and his team are what keeps people involved in racing we need more of those folks
Clay is so damn awesome! He is such a cool guy.
I wish more folks were like Clay. Everyone there was gracious with their time.
Great video guys ☺️👍
I was surprised to see how cheap the rods and pistons where.
Thank you for your kind words
Been coming to the US Nationals for 33 years and love Wild Wednesday at IRP!!! Once you get exposed to the power of drag racing, you're hooked for life
Justin the engine guy has his own channel (angry hornet). It’s awesome insight into this world. He’s a cool guy too. Answers a ton of questions.
My uncle runs a top fuel. Truly amazing seeing the sheer amount of love & passion put in by these teams.
Clay has to be one of the most genuine human beings on earth.
Don't judge a book by its cover..his team do not like him at all
I just love Clay. If anybody in the world has a reason to be bitter and angry at life its him, but instead he took it on the chin and with that constant smile got up and faced another day. God bless him, his family organization
Grew up in millington tn with clay he is a top shelf individual
Incredibile !!! Most emotional Sport in 3,5 sec. I' m in Tears to See it. GREAT, GREAT, GREAT...........THX.........
“When the helmets are on there are no friends”
I felt that
Very true!
Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Everyone is different of course, and for me I will watch this type of coverage over Street racing etc. Your behind the scenes coverage in an earlier vid was also great. In this, Clay comes across as a lovely guy, the team are great and motivated, I like how being a sort of low budget team can achieve great results. Well done to both the race team and also to 1320 Video. Keep it up. Drag racing really needs all the support it can get.
Clay Millican is easily my favorite driver! He's such a down to earth, good at heart guy!
He's got a youtube, and he loves what he does and he loves to share every thing about what he does and what goes into it! Not many teams or drivers do this, Clay is a chill racer and he has all my respect. Glad I got to see him race one last time in my home state AZ. Sad to see NHRA go away :(
But I'll still see y'all in Vegas or Cali!
Love that he has the PFI sticker on the car supporting Brent👍 and his EPA battle
So interesting. Thank you to Clay Millican and the team for sharing this with everyone, and for 1320 for putting it all together. Appreciate you
I met clay probably 20 years ago at the gator nationals. Super nice guy and seems like he still has the same energy he had all those years ago.
I learn something new about our sport every day. Thank you 1320 and Clay, Doug and entire team.
They may be a small crew but damn do they perform. Such an awesome video Kyle love this style of video seeing the inside of a team, learned a lot from this!
And now I have a team to cheer for. Love seeing a team show this much support for 1320 that you are willing to show behind the scenes!
Clay and his team.. all the way up to the owner's is just a bunch of great people. I know sometimes people act fake in front of a camera but I can just tell that they are genuine. I can't wait to see them take home a Wally!
Great video. The humble driver puts credit where due. It's the entire team, not the driver alone. 👍
Seen this man on the PFI VLOGS. Absolute wild man!
Wow, what a great look into what it cost to run a top fuel car. Clay Millican is such a humble and friendly guy and what a crew he has !!! I was absolutely blown away by Kaylynn Simmons and her knowledge of the whole clutch process and procedures between runs WOW !!! What a team and best of luck in 2022 ! See you at the Gatornationals
I don't often comment, but I have to say this was SO well put together and informative. Thanks to Clay and the team :)
That has to be the best insight into a professional race team I have ever seen. Congratulations to the 1320 and Parts Plus teams.
Thank you for posting this video. I really enjoyed getting to see all the different parts that go into running a top fuel dragster. This is the most fun video I've watched in a while.
