Clearly a case of not believing Dr Strange's story that Wanda was possessed by a version magnitudes more powerful than their own, and trying to top the "I can kill you" banter in a way that would give her pause.

As far as they know from their Universe's Wanda: her only power is telekinesis. I don't see why they should expect her to warp reality, and It makes perfect sense for them to use Black Bolt's voice as a threat to get her to surrender. No clue wtf Reed thought his stretchy arm was going to do after he saw what she did to Black Bolt though; guess you gotta try something.
As soon as you give someone absurdly omnipotent powers like "What mouth?" (the mouth vanishes), there is no fight. The character can just do a "What brain?" or "What heart?" instant deletion of any other character's vital organs, and the fight is over in a single blink of an eye.
That's Scarlet Witch's well-known stint in the comics, and it's her signature power. That's why her character is not built through "I want to help, I want to be a hero" or "I want to conquer the world" villain. Her whole thing is her love for her kids and family, and to settle with them.
Reed Richards did. He lost his temper when Black Bolt auto-destructed and then he threw a punch. What he expected it to do was another question entirely. Wanda shredded him into ever smaller rubber bands until he was past recovery. Very imaginative of her.

What most annoys me most about this scene is that Reed Richards best ability is his genius. They had him go into to the fight with no apparent plan, relatively impulsive and not assessing his foe first. I realise that they had to have Wanda win the scene but they could have avoided making Richards look like a complete doofus.
I think its meant to show how they underestimated Wanda thinking she's just their Wanda, the woman with telekinesis in their world. They never knew how powerful Scarlet Witch is and it showed how unprepared they are. I guess no matter how genius Richards is, he will never measure Scarlet Witch's power, even doctor strange admitted she surpassed him.

I mean the guy is also insanely egotistical from what I gather. Admittedly not a huge F4 fan but from the few strips I’ve seen, he probably thought they overpowered her from the get-go
I'm not being one of those types but that was one of the most obvious things ever, especially with how they were already going about the movie with one generic "shock death" after another, literally predicted oh she gonna come behind him now and snap his neck, and then they didn't "subvert expectations" and did exactly that lol.

It's the fact she was going to kill all of them without a second thought that gives me chills. How anyone can say she is still a good person after that is beyond me
What ticks me off the most is not even Mr. Fantastically Stupid, but the fact that Black Bolt is suppossed to be stoic and extremelly self controlled because a little whisper can literally blow away a chunk of the planet. And here he literally just panics and dies. This movie was such let down. Casting Patrick Stewart as Professor Xavier just to kill him unceremonioussly is also a massive disrespect I can't forgive.
This follows my long held theory that Scarlet Witch is by far the most powerful Avenger. She literally would have killed Thanos if Thanos didn't create a distration at the last moment. Scarlet Witch was able to destroy a literal Infinity Stone from one hand while holding Thanos back when he had all the other stones on his gauntlet. Point blank, the witch is the strongest Avenger.

@@darelsmith6603 I agree that the book probably does not actually give her any powers, but it has likely done more than helped her sleepwalk. It seems to have thought her how to control her powers much better as well as possibly teaching her new aspects of her powers she may have not been aware of before. Like instant reality manipulation (erasing black bolt’s mouth and shredding Richards like cheese). She had done something similar to her environment and those around her in Wandavision, but I can’t remember her using this ability in battle before. Imagine her using this against Ultron or Thanos, shredding them to pieces in a second. Another ability she seems to have improved on is her psychic abilities, being able to defeat the most powerful telepath in the mind realm.
And that is why I can't get behind people saying she's a glass cannon. SEVERAL times in this movie she auto shielded and many other times she got hit but it was like nothing to her.

I mean The Illuminati had every right to underestimate the little witch. 838 Wanda didn't become the Scarlet Witch. The Ultron Program was successful so there's no Age of Ultron. Don't sure 838 Wanda has exposed to the mind stone or not. Even if she'd exposed, her power level would be around her weakest level. And comparing her to 838 Strange who had dreamwalked and caused an incursion which annihilated an entire universe, the biggest threat to them was Strange not Wanda.

its very weird...she mainly uses her hex bolts which have the power to do basically anything. But she mainly just uses it for launching around opponents. She was intensely trained for years to be an avenger by captain America and black widow and hit extremely hard with those bolts along w combining that with auto shields.
I mean why not just warp all of them into something than fight them, warp Doctor Strange as well. The fight in Kamar Taj she could literally just warp them all into something. This is the problem with these types of reality warping powers in movies, like they can do that but then again not use much just so they can make more scene for the movie, which is bs if you think about it.
I think it's clear that they did it to show off the two female members (Peggy Carter & Monica Rambeau); massive coincidence otherwise. The only character she should've had any trouble with was Xavier who caught her off guard, and _maybe_ Monica Rambeau because she decided to not try using reality warping, mind control, or really anything other than telekinesis.

I love the way the heroes all stupidly warn the bad guy they already know is a cold-blooded kill, then stand around for her to kill them all one by one. That's why I'm glad when she kills them all when they're that stupid so they won't procreate. What they should have done was to all unleashed everything they had all at once the moment she walked through the door. She couldn't focus on repelling all of them at the same time. Each one was capable of a lethal hit and it would only have needed to be one that got through.
Honestly, Professor X didn't even need to show himself. He could've linked their minds and they would've been an awesome team. I'm guessing that's what they did to defeat Thanos.

The mutants tried to dampen it at one point with a psychic barrier but the entity was too strong and over time both fought for control over Jean. When Erik and Charles went to first meet Jean, Charles warned everyone they were about to encounter their first LVL 5 potential mutant student/candidate, and he was not wrong. If the MCU ever unleashed Scarlet's and Phoenix's true versions, they'd be rivals no one. Unstoppable. Unformidable.

That's not going to work because Wanda is a nexus being, meaning she exists in every universe and every version of herself has the same powers or potential to have the same powers. Hence there is no universe where she is dead by Vision and her kids are alive.

I think ur misunderstanding, 616 wanda dreamwalked into 838 Wanda, taking her under her control to get to strange and take America. Xavier went into Wanda’s mind and found 838 Wanda (who clearly has her conscious out somewhere else while 616 Wanda took control) and almost helped her escape 616 Wanda but Xavier was killed before then. There is no “real Wanda” or “fake Wanda”. And let’s say 838 Wanda did get saved, 616 Wanda could simply just dreamwalk back into 838 Wanda and continue. There was no saving anyone.
That's not what that was. That was THAT universe's Wanda. Xavier thought if he could pull her out, the dream walking Wanda's dreamwalk spell would be broken.
It's not underrated in the slightest lol, if anything it's overrated. Every comments section I go into on a video involving Wanda in some way is bombarded with "what (insert your own word)" jokes, honestly it's like the Morbin time jokes in that it was funny at first but people have done it so much I'm just getting tired of seeing it. Yeah it was definitely a what the heck moment but I feel it's been memed on just a little too much at this point.
One of the reasons why I think that the Illuminati were seemingly so careless with Wanda is because they *do* have the infinity stones. In particular, the only one of them to not face Wanda just happened to be the Sorcerer Supreme aka the Keeper of the Time Stone. Mordo would be able to bring them back from puddles of blood. If they wanted to kill Wanda, they would have been able to do so easily. But their HIGHEST priority was to save the innocent woman from their universe. They are, after all, still heroes, even if a little scummy.

I watched everything Marvel up to, and including Endgame and was pretty much blown away by what they pulled off. Since Endgame I have had a hard time getting invested in the new films, and didn't even both with this one. It honestly doesn't look like i missed much. This is not good.
I mostly agree, but this is the best one to come out since Endgame. I usually hate the multiverse concept and think it's weak storytelling. But Scarlet Witch is a really fun character and I love Sam Raimi's style, so this movie was really enjoyable- particularly this gruesome scene.

Yeah, totally makes sense that Wanda completely wipes out 4 of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe in minutes. Capt Marvel can fly through enormous battle ships, but dies from a statue falling on her? And Capt Britain catches her shield all the time but gets cut in half by it? Sorry, MCU died after Endgame.

There's a chance that Blackbolt attacking her would've killed them instead. His voice is a projectile attack and Wanda's shields can catch and reflect projectile moves, so its likely that she could've reflected his voice right back and vaporized Reed, Blackbolt, Captain Carter and Captain Marvel all at once. Also, Wanda can clearly react quick enough to Captain Marvel's Photon Blasts, so trying to suddenly blast her likely wouldn't do much, especially, again, being that its a reflectable projectile attack. On top of that, Xavier may not gain full control of Wanda via mind control, especially since her mind was corrupted, so it may be harder for him to control the disrupted mind of such an already powerful witch. In all honesty, there really is nothing they could've done to stop Wanda. She has way too many counters for virtually anything they throw her way.

As soon as you give someone absurdly omnipotent powers like "What mouth?" (the mouth vanishes), there is no fight. The character can just do a "What brain?" or "What heart?" instant deletion of any other character's vital organs, and the fight is over in a single blink of an eye.
Wich is exactly why this scene and movie and character as well is complete trash, i almost walked out the theater lol what a terrible movie.

Very disappointing scene in a very, very disappointing lame movie.
What most annoys me most about this scene is that Reed Richards best ability is his genius. They had him go into to the fight with no apparent plan, relatively impulsive and not assessing his foe first. I realise that they had to have Wanda win the scene but they could have avoided making Richards look like a complete doofus.
Everyone looked like a doofus compared to The Scarlet Witch.
I think its meant to show how they underestimated Wanda thinking she's just their Wanda, the woman with telekinesis in their world. They never knew how powerful Scarlet Witch is and it showed how unprepared they are. I guess no matter how genius Richards is, he will never measure Scarlet Witch's power, even doctor strange admitted she surpassed him.

I'm not being one of those types but that was one of the most obvious things ever, especially with how they were already going about the movie with one generic "shock death" after another, literally predicted oh she gonna come behind him now and snap his neck, and then they didn't "subvert expectations" and did exactly that lol.

This follows my long held theory that Scarlet Witch is by far the most powerful Avenger. She literally would have killed Thanos if Thanos didn't create a distration at the last moment. Scarlet Witch was able to destroy a literal Infinity Stone from one hand while holding Thanos back when he had all the other stones on his gauntlet. Point blank, the witch is the strongest Avenger.

It seems to have thought her how to control her powers much better as well as possibly teaching her new aspects of her powers she may have not been aware of before. Like instant reality manipulation (erasing black bolt’s mouth and shredding Richards like cheese). She had done something similar to her environment and those around her in Wandavision, but I can’t remember her using this ability in battle before. Imagine her using this against Ultron or Thanos, shredding them to pieces in a second. Another ability she seems to have improved on is her psychic abilities, being able to defeat the most powerful telepath in the mind realm.

I love the way the heroes all stupidly warn the bad guy they already know is a cold-blooded kill, then stand around for her to kill them all one by one. That's why I'm glad when she kills them all when they're that stupid so they won't procreate.
What they should have done was to all unleashed everything they had all at once the moment she walked through the door. She couldn't focus on repelling all of them at the same time. Each one was capable of a lethal hit and it would only have needed to be one that got through.

I think ur misunderstanding, 616 wanda dreamwalked into 838 Wanda, taking her under her control to get to strange and take America. Xavier went into Wanda’s mind and found 838 Wanda (who clearly has her conscious out somewhere else while 616 Wanda took control) and almost helped her escape 616 Wanda but Xavier was killed before then. There is no “real Wanda” or “fake Wanda”. And let’s say 838 Wanda did get saved, 616 Wanda could simply just dreamwalk back into 838 Wanda and continue. There was no saving anyone.

One of the reasons why I think that the Illuminati were seemingly so careless with Wanda is because they *do* have the infinity stones. In particular, the only one of them to not face Wanda just happened to be the Sorcerer Supreme aka the Keeper of the Time Stone. Mordo would be able to bring them back from puddles of blood. If they wanted to kill Wanda, they would have been able to do so easily. But their HIGHEST priority was to save the innocent woman from their universe. This scene is hilarious. The have "The Smartest Man Alive" who completely disregards Wanda's reality warping capabilities when Strange says "you can't stop her". Then proceeds to tell her Black Bolts power... "What mouth?" 😂🤣.

I watched everything Marvel up to, and including Endgame and was pretty much blown away by what they pulled off. Since Endgame I have had a hard time getting invested in the new films, and didn't even both with this one. It honestly doesn't look like i missed much. This is not good.

I mostly agree, but this is the best one to come out since Endgame. I usually hate the multiverse concept and think it's weak storytelling. But Scarlet Witch is a really fun character and I love Sam Raimi's style, so this movie was really enjoyable- particularly this gruesome scene.

Although the acting and visuals were great the plot was so silly as well as so many cheesy dialogues 🤦♂️ It was definitely a missed opportunity. This movie also didn’t live upto it’s title. If you watch Everything Everywhere All At once you would understand it.

Yeah, totally makes sense that Wanda completely wipes out 4 of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe in minutes. Capt Marvel can fly through enormous battle ships, but dies from a statue falling on her? And Capt Britain catches her shield all the time but gets cut in half by it? Sorry, MCU died after Endgame.
You can see that before Wanda threw captain marvel she absorbed her powers so she was a normal human and no normal human can hold a statue and capt britan shield is made out of vibrianium so it’s super hard and sharp that’s why she tried to cut Wanda’s head of

So... They know she has the darkhold and they killed their Strange for once using it. She just tore through their defences like nothing and Strange warned them. She directly stated that she will kill all of them in any case. So instead of: 1) Using his teleport to put her in a cell or on Titan or just evacuate
2) Giving Black Bolt a sign to vaporise her
3) Tell Captain Marvel to blast her.
4) Mind control her by Xavier and then restrain her body with antimagic handcuffs
5) Make his hand flat and slice her really quickly while others help
Reed decides to give up their main weapon...The dumbest man alive.
There's a chance that Blackbolt attacking her would've killed them instead. His voice is a projectile attack and Wanda's shields can catch and reflect projectile moves, so its likely that she could've reflected his voice right back and vaporized Reed, Blackbolt, Captain Carter and Captain Marvel all at once. Also, Wanda can clearly react quick enough to Captain Marvel's Photon Blasts, so trying to suddenly blast her likely wouldn't do much, especially, again, being that its a reflectable projectile attack. On top of that, Xavier may not gain full control of Wanda via mind control, especially since her mind was corrupted, so it may be harder for him to control the disrupted mind of such an already powerful witch. In all honesty, there really is nothing they could've done to stop Wanda. She has way too many counters for virtually anything they throw her way.

Nobody said Wanda had super speed. Her reaction speed is impressive & it can keep up with Captain Marvel's Photon blasts, so suddenly trying to blast her likely won't work, cause she can catch, block & reflect it.

Need I remind you that 838 Mordo stated that a dreamwalker bestows their own consciousness into the person they're dreamwalking, so our Wanda bestowed her presence, and likely some of her power, onto 838 Wanda, which is why 838 Wanda was good enough to destroy the Illuminati. 838 Wanda, by herself, likely would've lost, because she's got underdeveloped Chaos Magic & underdeveloped combat skills compared to our Wanda, who's had years of experience now, after Age of Ultron, veered, Infinity War, Endgame & WandaVision, and having been trained in combat by Captain America & Black Widow.

Either way, nothing the Illuminati could've done would've guaranteed a win against Wanda, cause she has too many counters for each of their powers & her Chaos Magic will also automatically protect Wanda at all costs, too. So, all in all, there was really no way for the Illuminati to actually win. They were basically destined to die by Wanda's hands.
