ABOUT QUANTUM LEAP:
It's been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has been assembled to restart the project.
Everything changes, however, when Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it. At Ben's side throughout his leaps is Addison (Caitlin Bassett), a decorated Army veteran who appears in the form of a hologram only Ben can see and hear.
Herbert "Magic" Williams (Ernie Hudson) helms the highly confidential operation whose team at headquarters includes Ian Wright (Mason Alexander Park) and Jenn Chou (Nanrisa Lee).
Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt write and executive produce. Don Bellisario, Deborah Pratt and Martin Gero executive produce. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces in association with I Have an Idea! Entertainment, Belisarius Productions and Quinn's House Productions.

I don't know why everyone's dunking on this. Of COURSE it's not gonna FEEL as good as the original. Not at first.. you gotta give it time, let the actors get a feel for it.. I think many fans of the original would agree that seasons 3 and 4 are WAY better than season 1. Give it time and you may end up being happy with it.
It's woke trash
@@daudge5778 The original was woker than these two episodes have been.. dozens of episodes about minorities, immigrants, gay people, disabled people.. You don’t make any sense. The two episodes we got were about bank robbers and astronauts.. the original literally did an episode about Sam being in a woman who was raped and no one believed her. They did an episode about Sam having to save a gay guy from getting killed in a military academy. A Japanese girl coming to America and almost getting killed by a guy who hates all Japanese people. What problem could you POSSIBLY have with this new version?
@@beepboopethanj Exactly. Is it automatically woke simply because it has an Asian lead with another non-binary character? I guess he should watch the old show again, it was as "woke" as this show is.
It's just a piss poor reboot. THE HOLOGRAM CAN'T SIT IN BEN'S CAR OR FURNITURE. Yet, there Addison does in almost every episode. This show just intentionally misses key factors, it's frustrating.
@@marcoparada6652 Sorry, that’s not a key factor. Key factors are plot, characterization. It could easily be that the new imaging chamber can auto-adapt to chairs and carseats or bring her down to eye level if she wants. That’s an incredibly small detail to get hung up on. If you just don’t like the storyline or something else then I can’t help you there. People like it - NBC called them back in to extend the season! I can say I’m having fun at least
How amazing to go back to the 80s
The Goonies would never be a double feature with St Elmo's Fire in 1985. One was PG and one was R, and aimed at two different age groups years apart. Who wrote this? Let me guess, he wasn't alive in the 80's and he just picked two random movies from 1985?
I'm sure you could nitpick similar inconsistencies in the original show. This isn't a documentary about the '80s. It's a fantasy show about time travel. Take it easy.
That's what you got out of it? Yikes!
@@CloseYourBrownEyes Facts Yikes!
Yeah, it's just a quick cash grab by people who don't care.
could also be a joke
Just finished watching all 5 seasons of Quantum leap on Now TV.
This show looks upon the 80s the same way the 80s looked upon the 50s.
im not saying its rubbish i just think its weird how ben goes along with the holagram thing and stuff instead of freaking out like sam did i mean he almost had a panic attack when he found out al was a holagram. but im sure if we give the show time it will improve
That's a sign of bad writing. The writers don't care about the little things.
Sam wasn’t exactly in the middle of a robbery and a police chase lmao
OK I am a big fan of the original QL, and I had no idea this was even a thing... but, this clip got a chuckle out of me, so yeah, think I am going to give this a fair chance.
Man, I really wanted a hot dog! Thanks Ben! 🤣
Addison might be sam granddaughter via Samantha fuller?
Another weird remake but we should wait for some episodes to make decision. For instance, Time tunnel remake was cancel.
Not even interested enough to watch this video.
Only saw the pilot episode of the reboot of quantum leap its unwatchable 😅
I think people are expecting it to be just as good or better than the original and get disappointed when it’s not as someone who never watched the original the shows ok
I watched the show after seeing this clip - didn't even know there was a Quantum Leap continuation out there. I grew up on the original and loved it so much that I own the series. I'll be honest - I had incredibly, incredibly low expectations as this was NBC. Aside from one confused character that almost made me turn off the TV, I enjoyed the show. I thought the actors had a great handle on their parts especially in the pilot episode. I will watch the second episode and continually reevaluate.
If she’s a hologram, why is her hair blowing in the breeze outside?
The Hologram part is where the show's struggles are. A hologram no one else can see or hear. They shoulda found a way to improve on the original instead of carbon copying, cause it just doesn't translate well.
I thought that too until someone mentioned she’s in like a virtual reality chamber. What they messed up on was the reflection of Ben’s face in the roof of the green car. They really hung on that.
How is she sitting in the truck?
@@andrewkostecka1827
The same way Al helped Sam steer the plane in the pilot, or turned up in a car, or any other number of things. Yeesh. Use some imagination.
@@Owl_Space Pretty sure Al didn't sit in vehicles with Sam. He was always standing, either showing up inside or outside the vehicle. While imagination is very necessary, a story has to follow its own rules, or else it brings the reader/viewer out of the story--which is not good.
I want to go back In time to fix this show. What is with the CONSTANT narration?
It's been canceled. The horror is over!
Did they keep the old intro music?
Why if he remembers nothing, when he looks in the mirror and sees somebody different he is surprised?.
Cause he just knows its not his body wouldn't you know
Because it's badly written.
I love the original series and I watch the new series on peacock. I love that the cast is diverse.I like the lead actor I think he doing a fantastic job.
Ditto & honor the late Dean Stockwell's legacy
hope that will come in germany
Was well up for watching this until that women appeared and I realised they replaced Al with a women. Gutted.
Original tv series from 1989 was better 😮
Like you could drive a manual that easily if you'd never driven one... 🙄😆
Was as much fun as gum on your shoe.
I don't have shoes. So I wouldn't know. But I quite enjoyed it.
@@OptimusNiaa Your own gum or someone else's?
If she is a hologram why is the wind blowing her hair around?
They put a wind machine in there with her. ... or it's a bad show created by people who don't care.
Name of songs in this episode?
Ticks all the 'diversity' boxes as usual, but that's all it does.
You must REALLY hate real life, with all its diversity...
I don't think there are many shows out there where the race of the lead actor is less important than in Quantum Leap, since he jumps between people of different races, genders, and wildly different walks of life every episode. In the original series Sam leaped into a literal chimpanzee in one episode. It doesn't at all affect that plot that he's Asian since he assumes the form of whatever person he leaps into to everyone who can see him, and you're still going to be mad about it?
I was a huge fan of the original series and this new one is, eh, kind of lacking in heart and thematic consistency compared to the old one, but that has nothing to do with the fact that the cast is more diverse.
Yes and the lead has about as much charisma as a piece of lettuce 😴
Just. STOP. Please. Make a new story, something original for once.
No.
What I think they're doing is ruining all these great old series, so that when someone mentions "Did you ever see __________?" someone can say "Yeah!" and it just muddies everything. I'm so disappointed to see this, won't even watch this video.
Um,
Maybe I was expecting too much or maybe my standards are too high, but I found the whole episode very bland. I didn't find one compelling actor or character. Additionally, there was way too much screen time devoted to the present time characters. We don't need that. We need the focus to be on story between Ben and the circumstances he finds himself him. I could care less about what the present-day characters are feeling or going through....it takes away from the focus of the show. Must do better if I'm going to continue to watch. Basically, a real snoozer! 😔
This show sucks. Its more of a serious procedural rather than heartfelt anthology like og
