Hey there, thanks for checking the Stacked Golf RUclips channel! We’re Jon and Ashley, a husband and wife team of amateur golfers looking to share our love of the game with our viewers. Our goal is to inspire more golfers along with people who have never played before to get out on the golf course and have fun regardless of their age, budget, or skill level.
We find all kinds of golf deals at garage sales, thrift store, flea markets, auctions, online marketplaces, and more to show that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to start playing golf or upgrade your current golf bag. Along with our thrifting adventures, we specialize in reviewing the cheapest golf gear, gimmick clubs, As Seen On TV golf clubs, crazy training aids, and more to see if they are worth checking out to improve your golf game. You will also find course vlogs, golf challenges, and budget golf course reviews from our travels. We both love the game of golf and want to share our adventures with you.
Here’s a little about us: While most kids were watching cartoons, Jon was studying the Golf Channel to learn how to play and improve his golf game. He spent most of his childhood on the golf course and loves trying out new golf clubs and gear. Jon also loves to fish and kayak. If he could he would spend all his time on the golf course or catching giant bass.
Ashley is a beginner golfer with no athletic background whatsoever before attempting to pick up the game of golf. Her unnatural ability to read the green has made her a great putter but the rest of the game is still a work in progress and we hope you enjoy watching her improve on the channel. She is also known for finding incredible deals and unique finds both online and at thrift stores and garage sales. Along with golfing and budget shopping she also enjoys trying out and creating new recipes and using Jon as her taste testing guinea pig.

I live in East Lothian, Scotland been up to St Andrews lots, played there too! Those putters are commonly available in shops like Auchterlonies and usually are given for presentation pieces for retirements, birthdays etc! They are copies (not neccessarily exact) of early putters from 18th/19th century! Btw, a laird is a Scottish land owner usually of an estate/villages etc!

I just sold a Beryllium Ping Eye 2 2 iron just before Christmas. But that lob is a big find. But the winner is the wood putter, that is on my list of holy grail clubs and I don’t care the brand. Real wood clubs feel amazing. I actually have a Hogan BeCu sand wedge and love it.

That Ping a putter is one of the oldest in the Ping History. I know someone who has like the earliest version of the Anser, it is worth or was worth quite a dollar at one time. He will not sell it either his dad gave it to him.

So I'm watching and trying to figure out what a Ping Eye 2 "BQ" is. I've never heard of a "BQ" version before. Then I realize you're saying "BeCu", LOL! Never heard the called that before. We always called them either "Bee-Ee Cee-you" or Beryllium Copper because the letters are made up of the elemental names of Beryllium (Be) and Copper (Cu).

Loved Jon's reaction to seeing the Eye2; I have a Red Dot BeCu Lob Wedge in the bag, got it for less than 10 bucks! Didn't know how cool it was when I picked it up, and thank the lord I didn't try to restore it or make it shiny!
Recently told my pro shop owner this was my fav club and he handed me an Eye2 Sand Wedge (steel though, not BeCu) for free!

I picked up a Eye 2 beCu sand wedge like new @ a high end public course pro shop in Chelsea, Michigan last summer for $39.95. I bought it so fast &; put it in my bag. Still looking for beCu L wedge"
Saw a set of BeCu 1-9 iron and the three wedges with a white leather ping vintage bag on Facebook marketplace. Incredible. Only $450 but just couldn’t shell out the money currently. Crazy deal though.
Time has caught up with the advantage the BeCu eye 2 LW had, but they are still coveted and a fine club. I picked up an entire set of original eye 2 BeCu 2-SW2 matching numbers and grips. Almost never hit, some clubs probably not at all. I will keep them and pass them to my son who is in his late 20s. I am partial to tour issue Vokeys. With the M and P grinds, they are as good as it gets. Karsten Solheim was an innovator and his challenge to the USGA to prove his expertise wrong in court and that the USGA caved the day before court, just cemented the legend of him and the eye2. I may pick up a LW now. Ha! Enjoy the Ping!
My Ping i2 Lob wedge ( bought new from Roger Dunn Golf just a few years ago ) was my go to club, from 40 yards in...Yes, the Holy Grail club...... I miss it, sold it with some other clubs to a guy who really wanted my clubs...Had to let it go . Never again....
Holy grail??? I picked up on Facebook Market place Ping BeCu 1-Lw set for $80. I have them mounted on my Golf Wall.
I made a Scotland golf trip in 1988 and visited the old Tom Morris Golf Shop, and several other club shops in the area. I remember watching them running the thread whipping through the adhesive block and hand guiding it onto the spinning club. We played 14 rounds on majestic courses in 11 days, but I could have spent a week just in Saint Andrews.
That looked like a Sergio sprint ,you should have done a scissor kick as well,congrats on the new house,love your vids. I’m going to Orlando on Jan. 11 & I’m there for a week and I’m going to visit a few Goodwill stores,any recommendations?I’m also planning to play some golf any recommendations will be greatly appreciated,thanks!

I have a Eye2 set but with a 1 iron and 3 to sandwedge - used them to get from 9 to 4hcap - use Mizuno blades now but they were an awesome set and I have never found anything to compare with the feel of the copper 1!!
I have 2 full sets of the BC Irons 1 thru L One Green Lie and the other Silver. Just got them back from Ping of being re-shafted / regripped...my 3rd time since owning them since their debut in the mid 1980's
Top reaction to the lob wedge but I would have done that for the Laird. When I started playing at 14 (too many years ago now) my neighbour gave me a mixed bag of really old clubs and the putter was a Laird. I spent 1000’s of hours putting with that club as a kid, haven’t thought about that in a LONG time so many thanks for the memory 🙂

I hit the usual places, as you do, only more south in Fla where you'd expect to find more good stuff. I can't even put a decent set together for myself let alone a Holy Grail.

I still remember the morning I picked up my 3-PW, SW and LW BeCu in 1986 that I had special ordered thru a local golf course. Was so excited I had to play nine holes after work and made sure I hit each club at least once and finished in the dark. Played this morning and these are still in my bag. I can’t imagine looking at any other color irons. Enjoy them🎉

Hey Jon/Ashley! (Or anyone that sees this!) My dad is older and bought some clubs but is having a heck of a time hitting them. Was wondering if you could recommend a used/secondhand senior set for high handicappers that doesn't break your bank account! :)
Jon, I think you should get Ashley some professional golf lessons then get her on the course for at least 36 holes a week for one whole summer she seems to enjoy the game too much to allow her to burn herself out getting upset or disappointed in her shots like it looks at times. She's so close to actually developing a good game that I think a few tips from a course pro is all she needs points i see mainly is stance...follow through...keeping head down. Might be my point of camera view but 95% of her way left or way right drives looks like that's exactly where she's lining up and aiming too. Then alot of times her head is looking for ball flight before shes even finished her swing. Simple things to fix. Just need to show her what she's doing wrong then spend few hours a week at the driving range and she'll be playing part golf after one season. NO DISRESPECT intended as with all things in life practice makes perfect
I purchased a ping eye2 blue dot copper sw for $30 at oak ridge in fruitland and a set of cleveland launcher irons for $120 4-d wedge. Are the irons worth it?
Jon.... happy for you. I have that lob wedge but not in beryllium, just std but it’s sweet. The wooden putter with hickory shaft looks like one of those you give as gifts. Those are beautiful and Ash was happy with it 🤠

You guys are so lucky with all the cheap clubs you come across at all the different venues. I’m from the middle of Canada and because golf season is only 5 months a year clubs aren’t as plentiful or inexpensive.

Great find with the Ping wedge! Not only was the sole "pre-worn" but the grooves on that baby are razor sharp. They lasted forever and you could spin a ball out of heavy, wet rough. Easily the best wedge ever made.

I was guessing it would be a Scottsdale putter, but that beryllium lob wedge is nice. For a cheap alternative, the ISI lob wedge is magic out of the sand.
