Whoever edits your videos is a genius. Nearly killed me with that 'choking' part which ends with offering 'special'. I am also a victim of 485 age restriction. I m in my final semester of Masters by coursework. Once i return back to my country, without the relevant work experience, but just with the university certificates, i won't be able to get just hired for sure. This academic certificate is going to turn into the most expensive toilet-roll for me. It will cost me about 120 grand with zero return on investment, and they call this to be one of the fairest countries in the world that advocates and preserves the human rights,,no discrimination whatsoever, what a lie, what a joke 😂.

Thanks Karl, you are not just a migration agent, you are social media influencer and a journalist as well. You are raising very important points in your videos. I must say you are underrated for the work you do. I hope you get even more attention from the main stream media.
I just want to politely give my counterargument that student cap is a good thing in my opinion. This is the only policy that will impact both parties (the international education mafia and international students). While all the other solutions proposed to solve this "problem" seems to be doing more damage to students rather than big corporations. Increasing number of student visa rejections during the last year and increasing the student visa fee this year are good examples of that.

    Hi Karl,
There are hundreds of people from different occupations (not priority occupations) who live and work in metro cities waiting from May/June/July 2023 for visa processing for Visa 186 Direct Entry which of their applications has passed published timeline of the Department by far. Found this video randomly. While I understand and it seems totally unfair for new aspirants, the government didn’t promise any Permanent Residency for students. The law can change every time and we cannot control as it is in their administration. This is in regard to 485.
The students should notice this before and even with the GTE declaration or whatever now, you’re agree that you’ll be here temporarily.
I came through these processes before, the skilled migration should be actual skilled migration, in merit of having proper employment here or having substantial experience in their nominated occupations.
189/190 is messed up like a point competition game rather than skilled migration. Many people using these visa for doing odd jobs rather than securing proper job.
Might sound racist or gatekeeper but I’m an immigrant too, came through all the processes and I saw the unfairness for actual skilled workers and high capability students who secured proper employment (not odd job) and deserve for staying here with 189/90. Luckily, I got 186 by accidentally and all settled now.
Anyway, thanks the agent, for update and useful news, although I already passed the time there, I can forward these news to my friends, colleagues too.

I've been hearing about Australia's skill shortage for the past decade despite politicians increasing immigration into Australia. They drove rent up cause there's not enough homes, so people look inland. Then force people to work from the office within the CBDs, increasing congestion. Then double down by lowering the speed limit. All to satisfy the top % who own half of Australian housing.
They tax Australians to pay for freeways and then sell them to private companies who then make us pay tolls and some bullshit admin fee. They give away Australia's natural resources all to buy it back at a higher price anyway. Then people ask why their utility bills have risen so much.
    Corruption is wild

I don’t understand the narrative behind making conditions easier for subclass 186 visa when the processing times are unreasonably slow. Many of us literally stuck in big cities with our employers that we have been working for 4-5 years without ability to ask payraise, if they’d approve our visa maybe i’d find a better job with higher salary which would generate more tax for government, or move to a city which have less population density.
Instead they keep the risk of visa withdrawals due to changes on business or employment by having 16 months and probably more processing times. This is such a huge waste of time, energy and money for both government and applicants.

Why don't you stop accepting international students altogether, especially from South Asia, and watch your businesses go downhill when you don't find anyone for labor work and cleaning duties?
I am pretty sure they will be crying to get the students back to perform such work, as you all know that all the great Australians and New Zealanders, who are migrating more than students, will never work in such sectors.
And students causing a housing crisis is the most amazing joke of the decade.
I think this government has forgotten that Australia was in a housing bubble just 3-4 years ago. And suddenly they have a housing crisis because of students? What a joke...
Meanwhile, there are more than 100,000 ghost apartments and houses in Australia, and the government is just blind to those things.

They invested in the studies to get the work visa. Those students must be aware of the risk that the requirements will always change one way or another. You have no right at all to blame the Govt. They did not owe you a living and the interest of the nation comes 1st.

Hi Karl. I've been watching your channel for nearly 2 years now. After waiting for my PR visa in Australia for over 5, my wife daughter and I recently came to Japan, we applied for my spouse visa onshore at the immigration office. The staff even helped us fill it in, at the total cost of $40AUD. It took exactly an hour, they even made my residence card while we waited.
Australia is a joke and a scam, I've lived, and I mean lived in 5 countries now and visited over a dozen, and Australia has to be the biggest joke and scam of them all. From the immigration department to the youth crime, to the exuberant cost of living. I'm wouldn't waist my time energy or finances. All I can say is more people should move to Japan, it's amazing here.
And to all of those who are expecting a miracle from the Australian government, don't hold your breath l, the place is being run buy criminals 😂
