the hair shading struggle is basically me, it's to the point that I don't shade hair, your art is amazing and it's giving me ideas of what to draw as I have been struggling to get inspiration for a while

You can always use this channel to experiment with finding your art style. Maybe you can make some videos in the future where you try drawing your characters in other pre-existing styles from artists/games/shows you like? It might give you inspiration for how to shade hair.
Redrawing old art is such a good confidence boost. Specially if it's 3 years old or more. It shows how much you've improved and makes you wanna keep moving forward. When I look at my art now and my art from 2020 I feel so much more hopeful about how far I've come.

The art is so pretty! But I’d I could give a couple bits of critique - you could use more cel shading so it doesn’t look super amateur (your art doesn’t, it’s just a tip) and also to add some different thicknesses to your line art! It can really add depth to the work.

It reminded me that sometimes an aspect of the drawing doesn't come out the way you like. It's okay to take a break, and you don't have to torture yourself or beat yourself up about it. Also, you could set the line art layer to multiply, they you don't have to colour each line separately. Multiply take the colour underneath and makes it darker. Just a tip that might help you.

I adore how the mermaid turned out with all the lighting on the skin and features along with the water lighting along with the way the tail, hair, and arms flow naturally it looks so.. professional I'd almost say! Like the nice artwork you find in webtoons or comics or just those rare adorable fanarts that everybody takes a liking to and makes as backgrounds or smth! I also find it so useful watching you draw because by analyzing the way you draw out bases for the human body in the pre-sketch or whatever it's called is clear to see and it really helps me think about the way I do my art and what I need to work on implementing. Also perhaps it's because the coloring/lighting seems so simple yet detailed it creates this beautiful smooth effect that is also easy to learn what kind of colors to use for lighting and where, I can't wait to see more from you! Every time I see your art it makes me want to work on my own and try to improve my skills. The lack of t-shirt, though a detail I'm curious as to how it would look with if you figured out how to draw it underwater, gives it a more natural feel in my opinion. Arggghhh I can't get over how detailed smooth the skin looks!! I pray for the day I can shade skin like you.. I also think the style of shading hair you used in the last imagine looked really nice, I also like how the girls eyes looked. There's a tactic your sister learned that I wonder if you tried implementing, just a small line of light at the top of the eye. Or maybe you do implement it and I'm just an idiot lol.
