    My grandmother had the spring blossom collection. I’ve been slowly collecting. They make me think of her. She’s gone now and I wish I was able to get them but that didn’t happen. I love them so much

      That’s so great you are collecting them, I love having things that remind me of my grandparents. I have found quite a few things that they had, even if it’s not the piece they actually owned, it still feels special 😊

    Thanks for posting! I was looking for a few other types of dishes from what we already have, and you helped me find a couple. I really like the "pasta" bowls.
    Spring Blossom was produced after the FDA leachable lead standards were put in place in 1971.

    I use the little cereal bowl type to heat things in the microwave all the time but I do not have any of the dishes. They are lighter than most dishes I have which might have been a good choice for the collector in me. I have this fear that my kitchen cabinets will fall from all the weight of my dishes.😂. Nice collection!

      Thank you 😊 I have a fear of my cupboards falling from so many mason jars filled with food in them 😂

    I received a set of the Spring Blossom mixing bowls as a gift when I got married in 1980. I still use 2 of the bowls all the time.

    Lovely collection! I love the Spring Blossom print. I was on the Corelle website today because I wanted to contact them about using their vintage dishes that I have. You may have already seen it, but they have an update on their website about using their vintage Corelle dinnerware pieces. It's in the FAQ section under the section Corelle "Are Corelle Products Lead-Free?". Everyone has to make their own decision on using vintage pieces, but I wanted to share what I saw today on their website☺

      Thank you for sharing this, yes I had seen they made a statement about their vintage dishes and that is ultimately what made me decide to rethink using them. I wish they would remake some of their vintage patterns even just for a limited time for all of us vintage lovers. They would probably make a fortune 😂

      @@VintageVibesJamie Yes it would be amazing if they would remake some of the vintage designs! They would sellout so fast 🤣Especially now with that update on their website, they could make all the dishes exactly the same as they did before. Since they have officially tested their vintage dinnerware pieces for lead & they now claim they all past the current FDA regulations regarding levels of lead, and are safe to use as our everyday dishes. I'm glad they have tested them, however, I haven't decided yet if I'll pull mine back out. But, if they relaunch their vintage designs....I'm there!! 😊

    My comfort level would keep me from using the older Corelle dishes too, but they sure are pretty! Good for display though. Have a great day 😊💚Gina

    Did you say the design on the Corelle contains lead? If so, do you know when this continued to? I haven't seen much Corelle available where I live here in Scotland.🍽🌼🌼

    • @VintageVibesJamie
      @VintageVibesJamie  Год назад +1

      Yes they used to use paint with lead in the designs. The company has come out and stated that you shouldn’t use any dishes from before 2005 I think, so I’m assuming they were still using some level of lead up until then. I think the older the dishes the more lead they contain. It sounds bad but I think it was fairly common/normal because a lot of other companies also used lead in their designs as well.

      @Vintage Vibes thanks for your reply. Wow I've never heard of that issue in the UK but when I think about it most of our china from any era has its pattern under the glaze, maybe that makes a difference. I think I might have a few Corelle plates, I will have to dig them out & do some research. Thanks again.😃

    • @VintageVibesJamie
      @VintageVibesJamie  Год назад +1

      @@minskysfeedbackyianni1302 I think the issue is eventually the glaze will wear away exposing the lead paint. I’m not sure about china but I know vintage Pyrex contains lead as well.

      @Vintage Vibes I didn't know that about vintage Pyrex, thanks for telling me. I will certainly be more aware in the future.

    The first time I have watched one of your videos, and I would like to offer some constructive criticism, if I may. Please stop saying "I think", and know the facts ahead of time. Measure the sizes of the pieces, know what dates pieces were produced, it would make your already enjoyable video more polished and professional.
