- Season 04, Episode 127: hey squad. in this episode, we head on up to deer valley resort for the opening day of the empire express chairlift! this is deer valley's main expert terrain area and we were greeted with some soft, sugary snow. coverage was a bit thin in some spots, but im stoked we were able to get back into some of the daly chutes and be back up on the ridge again!

No need to apologize for the quality of the subject matter lately. Your videos are always beautiful - even inspiring - with what you capture (and convey through editing). Thanks for sharing your adventures and creativity throughout the year. Great save on your skis towards the middle of the video. Here in eastern Canada, we have had a few rainy mild days and have lost all our snow. I will have to talk to a neighbour when he gets back from Tremblant. When I last saw him, he said that they had snow, but it was crowded because people were coming from all over the eastern US for snow (that, and there was a big teachers’ strike, so kids needed something to keep themselves busy).
My neighbours got back from Tremblant last night. She texted to tell me snow conditions were bad so she, her husband and some friends decided to come back to the city for New Year’s. He will head back during the week, but she will stay home and do some work - so I assume that there is some skiing. They are heading out to the BC interior in mid-January, so they’ll get plenty of skiing in then.
Nice of you to help that guy out who lost his skis. The coverage looked so thin with gnarly terrain...I'm glad no one got hurt (he took a tumble but I assume he's ok). Always fun and inspiring to watch your videos, no matter what. Can't wait to see what's in store for 2024!

Lucas you 100 percent made the right call by bailing on that line you were about to take on your last Daly bowl run. Its rocky even with much better coverage.

it's a sad day when west coast skiing starts looking like a resort 1 hour from a major east coast city, lumpy bumpy beyond tracked out with grass still showing. Yikes, can't wait for some snow.
Go back and head over to lady Morgan, centennial is a great run mostly in trees and has bowl parts and seems to never end

Deer Valley looks great (given rough conditions). Some serious double black diamonds. I bet people look at you like your are nuts with a gopro in front of you going down the double blacks. Skiing with a gopro in front without having a pole to use is much harder than people realize....

oooo the conflict... i woke up this morning and part of me wanted to ski and would not let me go back to bed.. i wanted to use my fast skis.. i wanted to ski the peak they just opened and the tbar they just opened.. i had to tell myself that there was going to be a ton of people on the hill and just to wait until after the New Year..
you have been skiing your 106s a lot this year.. i have been on my 104s a lot.. my 105s are more for speed and GS turns and I will get on them in the New Year.. not sure if i can slide turn with my 105s but i am getting better at slide turning with my 104s
if your talking about breckenridge, the t-bar lift lines are only about 10 mins but very busy everywhere else
@@nico63323 i really wanted to ski Peak 10.. do you know if imperial lift was open? i would probably only ski the groomed part.. maybe go into contest bowl from there.. that looks pretty good.. i would also see what the groomer to the right of the tbar looks like... horseshoe just to the left of the tbar looks pretty brutal until you get to contest bowl..
@@darinsmith2458 imperial is not open yet, but peak 10 has opened. you have to enter horseshoe bowl through a side entrance because of the low snow but its some nice skiing. they have the terrain under 6 chair open as well
