Im from Switzerland but had livd in Singapore before. Thank you for this video... I miss those hawker centers. I'm drooling at the sight of Char Siew noodle & Chicken rice !!!
Amazing video. I’m headed to Singapore in 3 months for 4 days as part of an around the world trip and can’t wait to try some of the food you showed off.
At the Chinatown Complex, you should go up to Level 2, as that's where you will find Singapore's largest hawker centre, with over 200 food stalls. Even though not all stalls will be opened, there should be many opening until 8 to 8.30 pm, except for Mondays, which is the rest day for most stalls.
Go to CK Tang - it's not that next to Lucky Plaza. Look for the stairs going down to the basement. The stall facing you is the "Zhong zhis" or dumplings. I They are 3D outamid 😅
this video takes me back to the past! A wave of nostalgia! To be able to see the streets again albeit from a different lens, that was nice. and yes, when in singapore, walk!
I've seen your videos from Japan and Korea and they're great, but I get the vibe you get from Singapore. Very beautiful, modern and at the same time it has an authentic look. Thnx!
Amoy usually caters to the people working in the CBD and a lot of stalls are closed on the weekends. When I was still working in the area I always go there for lunch, miss it a lot
you are actually in the central business district, and the amoy street hawker center is not open on weekends and closed in evenings as well cos they cater mostly to the white collar office workers and offices are closed over the weekends. Go there during weekdays lunch time and you will feel a different CBD vibe.
amazing singapore, so small and yet so modern and well-run. has to be the number 1 country in South East asia in many areas. gotta be there to experience it for yourself! neighbouring countries can only envy and admire. too expensive for them.
Nice video! U happened to come here on a day where the roads are being blocked for our National Day Parade rehearsal🇸🇬 Hope u caught some of the fireworks display that night. A lot of locals like to gather around to watch
Hi from 🇲🇾 and working there. Anyway Lao Pasat is very touristy place and you should compare it with their community food court price away from the city and you will notice the price difference for the type of food your are wanting try..😅
What is Singaporean noodles? First time hearing that. We have so many types of noodles dishes, which one are you referring to? The hainanese chicken rice you wanted is actually the white skin steamed chicken. The proper way to eat chicken rice is to mix both the chilli & dark soya sauce into the rice itself. I noticed backpackers like to go to the popular tourist spots & the city area, thinking that they have seen the whole of SG. We actually have so much more for you guys to see & explore.
Have you checked out Orchard Road? Some good shopping there. I was in Singapore for 2 days in March 2005 and the £-SGP$ rate was over three SGP$ to the £ and it was really cheap for lots of things then. Definitely, it is a lot more expensive now
New subscriber here! Loving your Singapore series. Particularly enjoyed how you navigate our roads in the weatherwe have. N also enjoy so much local food too.. i love chicken rice! If u ever return im sure many of us would love to bring u around.
The bell chimes twice so must be 2 o'clock. Next time get your dumplings at Chinatown Complex and a ton of other foods on the 2nd floor. 200 over stalls to choose from and you missed it,.The Honey mango comes from Thailand and costs at least $3 for a small fruit.
Many many years ago when I was studying in the UK, almost all the Chinese restaurants had this dish. Singapore Noodles. I never quite figured out what it was. Out of curiosity, I ordered it once. It was basically fried bee hoon (vermicelli) with curry powder. Forward a few years. I was eating at a hawker centre one day and there was this zi char stall in front of me. I kept looking at the menu. What caught my eye was one dish. 星洲米粉. I thought about it for a while, and I realised it actually meant Singapore Bee Hoon. 星洲 was the old name for Singapore, especially amongst the Chinese. So I guess that was how Singapore Noodles came about? Or somehow it is related? haha!
@@seankaiser11 sometimes i order the 星洲米粉,but i don taste any curry power at all and its a hongkong dish iirc. I had a friend try it in an american chinese diner and she said it was literally curry beehoon. Im keen to think its 2 different dishes unless they bastardized the hongkong version in the west~ hahaha
Should Try our popular food here. Malay food mee rebus, mee siam n satay are very delicious n India food but most are spicy. Chinese food. Chilli crab 🦀,chicken rice, chicken laksa, n many more should try them all. 🥘🍲🍛🍜🍝🌮🥞😂Good luck n take care 🙏 Blessing
You can get cut fruits in fruit stalls in hawker centres. Why don't you try buying e-sim online instead. You have missed out the largest hawker centre in Singaore at the Chinatown Complex on the second floor. You can use credit cards with the pay wave function for the MRTs and train rides. Yes that honey mango should be from Thailand. You can properly buy them whole from local supermarkets and markets and cut them yourself since you have a kitchen in your accommodation LOL

That’s cool you were able to find cheap eats while exploring the city. Besides the Metro and Subway, is Grab or Uber available in Singapore? Seems like you did a lot more walking in this city compared to other SE Asian cities.
Grab is available, together with other ride hailing services. Not Uber though. They pulled out of the market years ago. I think he did a lot of walking because you see so much more of the city when you walk around. Singapore is a very walkable place, with parks, pathways and sidewalks everywhere.

Would like to see a video talking about your favorite things from each country you've visited thus far

Singapore is soooooo ❤🎉😊beautiful and clean and safe and…….
Lau Pa Sat is expensive. Try other local Hawker centres. You will get 2/3 the price.
Zane always gets Asian sites mixed up with food "Wat phe" (as in the Vietnamese soup) and "Ruffles center" (as in the potato chips). 😂

I've worked nearby Amoy food center and has always been going for the chicken rice that you ate... most of the stalls there closes at 3pm.
We celebrated Singapore's National Day on Aug 9th. So the barricades were up for crowd control in that area.
Should have gone up to Chinatown complex, Level 2. That's where the good local hawker food is!
Beautiful place! 😊
