So Pearl Jam, and Eddie in particular, was always a bit bummed that CD’s had taken off by the time the band got going. He always said the best experience was the vinyl one because of the interaction with the album cover, looking at the art and reading the lyrics. They’ve always strived to recreate that in CD form as close as possible. This started with Vitalogy and goes as far as to not have the plastic holder and instead to have the CD sleeved. Buying a Pearl Jam record is always a special experience so I try to collect the vinyl even though I do t specifically listen to vinyl like others do.
I generally get things first on cd for two reasons, 1. The diversity of it, so I can play it at home, in the car, on my computer or whatever, and 2. The price is cheaper lol I've heard Eddie say that and he's not wrong, 9 times out of 10 i think forming an album for vinyl makes for a better album than jam packing cds
Longtime PJ fan, from the very beginning, but started to lose interest after Binaural. Dark Matter has pulled me back in, their best album since the 1990s, in the conversation for Top 3 overall.
I agree it reminds me of Backspacer as well. Sounds joyous. Both great albums. Their last two were so so.

Awesome review dude, you get a new subscriber :)
Thank you!
I always liked digipacks better than jewel cases.
This particular digipack is really nice, and it's uniform with jewel cases... unfortunately most digipacks, at least in my experience are very flimsy
starting to like a couple of songs....at best..
the band stuck with them paper cds
The whole record is about Chris
That makes sense
