the list from best to worst are in the order they were released in my opinion
Ok, switch Test For Echo for Grace Under Pressure and your list is prefect! Grace Under Pressure is a must top 10!
Wow test for echo ahead of C Angels?
@@paulcaruana4090 I really love Test For Echo!
I agree with you for most of them! Although I would have Phobia better than Saturate. Only because "until the end" is one of my favorite songs of all time.
Hey there! Raising Cain is such an awesome channel for rock music fans, and I love how you dive deep into your favorite bands. I noticed your videos have fewer impressions, which is why your views and subscribers are low. I can help by optimizing your title, description, tags, hashtags, and off-page SEO. Additionally, I’ll nurture and manage your channel, plus promote your videos on social media for more visibility. Let's work on one video as a test-I’m sure it’ll boost your reach and engagement!
I have to admit, seeing GUP that low was hard, but hey, every Rush fan is different and it keeps things interesting! Of all Rush rankings I've viewed, yours is probably the FAIREST to each period 😀
I think every era of Rush is great!
Tough task indeed. I'm a firm believer in first exposure to a band is normally your fav album by them. Mine was the debut and it still stands as # 1 for me. I'm sure a big part of that is due to my age (I'll be 69 this June), and the first time I saw them was in 1975 with KISS in a high school fieldhouse. '2112' would be # 2, and 'AFTK' would be # 3, not sure after that as I can find good/bad with the rest of their catalog. Nicely done, cheers!
@@AisForAliceBisForBob thanks!
Great video! I know how hard a Rush ranking is to make... like you said, there's no bad albums in their catalog. Farewell to Kings is a great #1 pick! Very cool to see Power Windows in the top 3!
There really is no wrong answer with Rush!
Partied with these guy in jax Florida. They stayed at the hotel I worked the bar there. Cool crazy.
Awesome!
I bet that was a tough job. But I agree with most of it!
@@dadandRiy from about Caress of Steel on up was rough
@@themindseyecmh your top 5 is perfect!
1. Under Lock And Key 2. Back For The Attack 3. Tooth And Nail 4. Erase The Slate
My Top 3 Most Overrated list 3. REM 2. The Doors 1. Pearl Jam
@hozonkai9967 I'm with you on The Doors.... I've tried to get into them but I just can't
@@themindseyecmh Infuriating Groovy organ playing with Jim just BABBLING oh so pretenciously
Really good year! Some of my favorites: - Infestissumam (Ghost) - Venomous Rat Regeneration Vendor (Rob Zombie) - The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here (Alice In Chains) - Hesitation Marks (Nine Inch Nails) - Now What?! (Deep Purple) - Surgical Steel (Carcass) - Epitaph (Judas Priest) - Queensryche (Queensryche) - Heavy Metal Music (Newsted) - Dream Theater (Dream Theater) - The Next Day (David Bowie)
It's between 12, 13, and 15 for my favorite of the decade, unfortunately after 15 it wouldn't be until 21 or 22 we got a really strong year again imo
Interesting list. Haven't heard the Ed Roland record but the snippet was intriguing. I'll add it to the list. My top ten might look something like this: 10. Bon Jovi - What About Now 9. Vertical Horizon - Echoes From The Universe 8. The Fossil Collective - Tell Where I Lie (UK acoustic rock band) 7. State Cows - The Second One (Swedish band. Their name's an anagram of "West Coast" which should give you an idea of their sound) 6. Lanterns On The Lake - Until The Colours Run (melodic indie-rock from the north east of England) 5. Zervas & Pepper - Lifebringer (contemporary Welsh band who sound like they've stepped straight out of Sixties Laurel Canyon) 4. Moon Safari - Himelbacken Vol I (Swedish prog with great harmonies. Imagine The Beach Boys singing the Genesis songbook) 3. Blackberry Smoke - The Whippoorwill (excellent country-infused Southern rock) 2. John Elefante (On The Way To The Sun (magnificent Christian rock album from the erstwhile Kansas singer/keyboardist) 1. Big Big Train - English Electric: Part II (Beautiful, evocative English pastoral prog)
Youth at the bottom? Wow.
Vs Vitalogy and ten don’t make his top two.. interesting
Great ranking! Mine would probably look something like: 1. Core 2. Purple 3. No. 4 4. Tiny Music 5. Shangri La Dee-Da 6. STP 2010 7. STP 2018 8. Perdida 9. High Rise
Hell yeah man 🤘 great ranking, saw Priest live way back in 2008 when K.K. Downing was still with the band. it was one of the best shows I ever been to. Here’s mine: 19. Jugulator 18. Demolition 17. Rockarolla 16. Ram It Down 15. Nostradamus 14. Turbo 13. Redeemer of Souls 12. Point of Entry 11. Angel of Retribution 10. Invincible Shield 9. Sin After Sin 8. Firepower 7. Stained Class 6. Killing Machine 5. Painkiller 4. British Steel 3. Sad Wings of Destiny 2. Defenders of the Faith 1. Screaming For Vengeance
@@ZachAttack313 great list!
Honestly non ozzy osbourne black sabbath era is good. Dio and tony are amazing singers, headless cross is my favorite song by black sabbath you should check it out:3
@@TabooKid I have been checking some of that out lately!
Fav of '77 - Just Another Suicide by UFO.. the most random mid-grade rock song in a year filled with incredible classics.
Motley Crue is the worst hair pseudo metal band and Vince Neil's voice is ear grating. Green Day is wanna-be-pvnk and unoriginal. Lars ulrich is subpar drummer. Slayer has made a career by hoodwinking its following goat groupies with the same regurgitated dung noise and laughing in the process. And finally,Queen, the band which gained notarity with a front"man" who pranced about in tights🤔. The Only redeeming worth was Brian May's unique guitar artistry.
@Anthony-xn1bq I like Metallica but I always thought Lars drumming was best when I don't notice it lol
Okay. He's a Birds fan so I'll stay. Our presenter is not close to 60 so his familiarity with 1975 music is all archival. And that's fine. Hell, same with me regarding 1940's/1950's music. However, hearing these songs on WMMR or Q102 when they were new cemented you in the moment you were in at the time. It's irreplaceable. BTW - "I Think I'm Going Bald" by RUSH is an homage (or inspired by) KISS's "Goin' Blind". RUSH opened for KISS on the 1974 Hotter Than Hell tour and Geddy nicked the idea of the phrase, in some fashion. "Man On The Silver Mountain" is strong! "Hair Of The Dog" was a stalwart at strip clubs and biker bars (hello Locust Crest). We teens trying to get served fled post-haste. "Dressed To Kill" is my favorite of the first three KISS albums (pre-Alive!). Every tune makes you throttle your second-hand '67 Mustang a little harder. "Physical Graffiti" needs no comment from me. It's just that good. "Toys In The Attic" is a conundrum for me. Love "Get Your Wings" and "Rocks". Anyway, the best three-year period for Aerosmith. Let's don't forget "Born To Run". Metal head machismo and hard rock tunnel-visionaries will recoil of course. But it is probably the most critically acclaimed album of 1975. Honorable mentions: "A Night At The Opera" and "Wish You Were Here".
@clete3977 first of all, go birds! Yeah I was still 15 years away from being born in 75! I love Dressed To Kill, but Hotter Than Hell is my favorite KISS album. DTK is so fun though! Yes, I heard that story about I Think I'm Going Bald, that's what I like about it! Born To Run had some songs I like but I'm not a big Springsteen fan... which is kinda strange because I love Bon Jovi
@@themindseyecmh Wow! A reply from the content creator! That is indeed an honor. Do yourself a favor and listen to BTR in its entirety. It's amazing to think he was only 25 when he wrote those songs.
Awesome choices! This is a really cool idea! Would definitely recommend checking out UFO if you're a fan of Just Another Suicide... the whole album Lights Out is incredible.
@@TheCDGuyJZ I'll have to!
out of curiosity why do you leave the price tags on your disc cases? stuck on , left on from childhood?

Yeah i dont like green day and queen 👎borring
@martinmathieu6098 another non queen fan lol 👍
I have all of those on LP and CD, I think 4 of them would make my top 10. I'm a big Tommy Bolin fan, so this a top 5 DP album for me. Kansas, Rainbow, and LZ would be the other 3. I just realized I saw 3 of the 4 bands on the tours for these albums. Thanks for sharing, cheers!
Nice list. Sticking to a vaguely rock/pop format, mine would look something like this: 10. Head East - Flat As A Pancake 9. REO Speedwagon - This Time We Mean It 8. Kansas - Masque 7. Chris de Burgh - Spanish Train & Other Stories 6. Renaissance - Sheherezade & Other Stories 5. The Outlaws - S/T 4. Dan Fogelberg - Captured Angel 3. Eagles - One Of These Nights 2. Barclay James Harvest - Time Honoured Ghosts 1. David Crosby & Graham Nash 0- Wind On The Water
Sweet vinyl collection man! I knew that Aerosmith album would probably be your #1 lol Killer thumbnail of the original KISS!
Thanks! Hard to beat Toys In the Attic! Lol
Great choices! Some favorites from 2005: - Octavarium (Dream Theater) - Angel Of Retribution (Judas Priest) - Tyranny Of Souls (Bruce Dickinson) - Ten Thousand Fists (Disturbed) - With Teeth (Nine Inch Nails)
1. Khymera - A New Promise 2. Alien - Dark Eyes 3. Robin Beck - Do You Miss Me 4. Dream Theater - Octavarium 5. Bruce Dickinson - Tyranny of Souls 6. System of a Down - Mezmerize/Hypnotise 7. Kamelot - The Black Halo 8. Rammstein - Rosenrot 9. Bon Jovi - Have a Nice Day 10. Shinedown - Us and Them 11. Riverside - Second Life Syndrome 12. Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy 13. Masterplan - Aeronautics 14. Porcupine Tree - Deadwing 15. Poets of the Fall - Signs of Life 16. Gotthard - Lipservice 17. The Hellacopters - Rock & Roll Is Dead 18. Fear Factory - Transgression 19. Coheed and Cambria - Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness 20. Emerald Rain - Sleepwalk
@nikospapanastasiou2072 us and them has one of my favorite Shinedown songs, I Dare You!
FYI your audio levels need fixed on this video. My list: 1. Staind- chapter v 2. Seether- Karma and effect(their best album) 3.Scott Stapp- Great divide 4. Jeremy Camp- Beyond measure 5.Default- one thing remains
@Titus1nine I need to figure something out at home, seems like it's always quieter when I'm at home Great Divide and Beyond Measure have some really good songs on them!
@themindseyecmh looking back.. I missed the album by Cold- "a different kind of pain" that would take my #4 spot! They had continually improved up to that album then really have not put out a good one since.
I just found out that Cold will be coming to Love Drafts in Mechanicsburg Pa April 12th to perform the whole album "a different kind of pain" as part of their albums anniversary tour. I'm definitely going! "Happens all the time" is one of their best songs.
@@Titus1nine awesome!
I haven't heard a tremendous amount of rock albums that were to my taste from 2005. I can just about stump up ten though: . Blue Rodeo - Are You Ready? . The Decembrists - Picaresque . Flamborough Head - Tales Of Imperfection . Journey - Generations . Molly Hatchet - Warriors Of The Rainbow Bridge . Moon Safari - A Doorway To Summer . Sieges Even - The Art Of Navigating By The Stars . Stephen Stills - Man Alive . Van Zant - Get Right With The Man . Wetton/Downes - Icon II
I have always been curious about Fly On The Wall. Need to give it a listen. No Jacket Required is EXCELLENCE start to finish. Lots of the guitarists I knew back in the day copied Don Dokken's guitar tone with their own rigs. I have been wanting to listen to Vivian Campbell's early material because I mostly know him from his tenure in Def Leppard. Power Windows was my gateway drug album to becoming a fan. It came out when I was 11 and just getting into rock music. I also joined school band that year playing drums so Peart was a big part of my attraction. May be my favorite Rush album. You couldn't get away from a radio or MTV without hearing one of the singles from Nervous Night that year. Great list!
@dadandRiy Fly on the Wall is awesome, just has a sloppy sounding production... if you can get past that, the songs are good! Also like Vivian Campbell's work on the first 3 Dio albums...it's different than what he sounds like in Def Leppard but I like Vivians work in both bands
As a new Goo Goo Dolls fan I can say slide is so addicting definitely deserves #1
@popeye4567ate9 I never very tired of Slide, great song!
What? No mention of that horrible "CLANK" sound of a guitar falling over in the middle of one of the songs? 😂😂😂😂😂
I love Dio’s “Hungry for Heaven” - def in my top 5 of Dio songs! Good man with Ratt and Asylum (my second fave KISS album!).
@@offthecharts2272 it's not bad, but it's my least favorite on that album And hell yeah, gotta have Ratt and Asylum is awesome!
I can’t believe that 7800 Fahrenheit will be 40 this year!
@Bonjoviisgoat what's even harder for me to accept is that Have A Nice Day is 20 this year lol
@@themindseyecmh Yeah, and These Days will be 30. Not to mention, Crush will be 25!
@Bonjoviisgoat heck, Burning Bridges is 10! Lol
Great list! This year had a little bit of everything… great hard rock, classic hair Metal, great thrash, great traditional metal, early death & black metal, etc. Good to see some love for Fly On The Wall!
It really did! And is a worthy follow up to 84 which is one of the best years in music imo And Fly on the Wall is awesome! Just wish the production matched it lol
Here's my ranking 19 jugulator 18 demolition 17 nostradamus 16 angels of retribution 15 redeemer of souls 14 firepower 13 invincible shield 12 point of entry 11 ram it down 10 rocka rolla 9 sad wings of destiny 8 pain killer 7 stained class 6 turbo 5 sinn after sin 4 screaming for vengeance 3 British steal 2 hell bent for leather 1 defenders of the faith
I’m with you on the underrated albums like done with mirrors and sacred heart. Dokken and ratt 👊🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I like most of your top ten but, showing it was a strong year according to my tastes, none made mine: 10. Surgin' - When Midnight Comes (a Bon Jovi connection here. Main man, Jack Ponti co-wrote Shot Through The Heart, which also features on this album) 9. Icon - Night Of The Crime 8. Uriah Heep - Equator 7. Y & T - Down For The Count 6. Dire Straits - Brothers In Arms 5. Asia - Astra 4. Night Ranger - Seven Wishes 3. Randy California - Restless 2. Streets - Crimes In Mind (featuring Kansas' Steve Walsh & Billy Greer. Indeed, Power sounds as much a follow-up to this as it does a Kansas record) 1. Rick Springfield - Tao
A good year. though not hard rock I would add “Love” The Cult, “ListenLike Thieves” INXS…
Thats your opinion
@@clivewinter8321 never said it was anything but my opinion
there’s nothing on VH3 i ever need or wanna hear again. Without You is only thing close to being OK but it’s bloated and needed some editing.
Alot of editing lol It's a shame because there is some good stuff there but like you said it's way bloated and the production is terrible
@ that album is the proof that Ed needed a strong partner be it Dave or (ugh) Hagar or a strong producer. Left to his own devices you get ideas that lack focus or structure.
Agree... and even Sammy provided that though Sammy came with his own faults.... van Halen and Roth was just a match made in heaven!
The Rainbow albums you don''t know are a lot smoother and more commercial than the earlier ones so are more to my taste. Bent Out Of Shape might just be my favourite of all their records.
@@carlwmpylu I'll keep that in mind when I get to them! Might not be a bad thing since I like both sides!
