I got mine just a couple days ago and it's easily become my preferred handheld mode experience! This brings some of the features the hori split pad products were missing and then some! (Like the hall effect joysticks) and the gamecube-inspired look is just the icing on top 👌
@UncommonS3nse I haven't tried putting thumbgrips on this controller but tbh the c stick looks like it may be too small to fit any thunbgrips at all as it is quite small. Perhaps the left analog stick but because of the concentric circle grooves I haven't felt the need to put a grip on it. And I'm not tech-savvy enough to answer your question about the D-pad sorry. I will say I love its size and I do like how it presses down and moves about slightly for the most part.
This is my new favourite joycon alternative, I have always had Hori Split Pad Pro as my favourite, but this wins on the sturdy design and motion control.
I bought a pair and I like these much better than any of the hori or binbok joycons at a similar price point. The quality is top notch. I will say the other thing I don’t like is they do add noticeable weight to the switch, but it’s nothing too crazy.
I've bought myself 2 of these controllers. I bought my first one after watching your video, and the second one, after loving the first so much. On a sidenote, I never knew it, until you mentioned it, but I never knew that info about the Dreamcast controller. Have always wondered why I've never gotten a drifting Dreamcast controller, as old as that system is, and its hardware, but all of these newer controllers, or even the era of the 360 and PS3, all seem to end up with that drifting mess, or at least a lot of the controllers I've played with, or have owned, throughout all these years. Thanks for the info!
Not fan of right thumbstick but overall, i like the design. Not fan of joycons because they sometimes feel like the bend in my hands. These types of controllers are my favorite as feels like one solid piece.
This is the question I need answered! I can always get one of those portable docks to save space and never have to take the Switch out of the case. But that's only possible if that USB C port can still video out

Is grip thick enough for good comfort I had the hori compact and they were too thin my hands cramped so I sent back o got the nexigo one like this and I’m not to sure about it
This is chunky, bigger grips than the Hori Compacts but this is a heavier set up for sure. I'm personally enjoying this a lot, still testing though so review to follow in the future
Been thinking about getting a satisfy grip, but lately ice also been checking out the third party joycon scene. This seems like a good way to kill two birds with one stone, but how does it work for keeping the switch vented and cool?
Honestly the Satisfye ZenGrip is a beast, perfectly ergonomic and keeps all the benefits of the joycons. These are fine heat wise but the gyro and rumble are lacking in comparison
@@128KB I'm not so worried about rumble, especially since, in my oppinion, joy con rumble doesn't feel good to me, but the gyro is a concern. This just seemed like a neat little accessory (cheap to boot) but none drifting analoges seem like a great idea to have. Only ever use my joycons for portable and it's a miracle they haven't drifted yet. Had em for about two years and I live in a dusty old house. Thanks for answering, looks like it's the zengrip for me, though one last question. How hard would it be to open up the retro flag controller? With everyone talking about the nyx I can't help but look at the thumb sticks on both controllers and wonder if I could swap em around.
I’ve seen Amazon reviews where they show photos of the metal tabs on the inside scratching the sides of the OLED Switch railings. Has that happened to you?
I have almost the same controller but mine was from oivo.. I love it but the only negative thing I could say about it is that the battery of my switch dies quick.

Well the Mobapad has deadzone, Hori have the best sticks for FPS but I'm still testing these. So far deadzone seems minimal/non existent but need more testing

I don’t know if you were joking when you yelled that the d pad was huge lol. It’s the same size and any other switch controller I have and not even huge at all. All the hori ones are same size . And I really didn’t find it that insane to have vibration and gyro? Like really ? The review didn’t sound as genuine as I hoped
It's much bigger than other joycon alternatives Vs BinBok, Hori, NYXI etc. It is larger. Yeah, really, not all alternatives have rumble and gyro. Plus, this wasn't a review, this was a first impression. Reviews come after weeks of testing and nit picking, a review will be coming next week hopefully.
It's probably down to planned obsolescence. Nintendo either wants you to break the controllers or they don't care if you do, so you buy a new one. I don't see why they couldn't add 90's technology, which should be cheaper now despite inflation, into Nintendo's already extremely high price. As soon as I got my Joy-Cons, one slipped from my lap, and left a permanent black mark. All of the cases either limit functionality, or are a complete joke and don't snap together.

Seems like it would be wiser to remove barriers to entry, like controller cost, in order to maximize players and further sales of systems and games, even if there is a marginal loss on the front end. It just makes sense that building a loyal fanbase should be the priority, even if that adds cost to them, because they would make even more money for years to come. The only slight advantage they have now is their system is portable, but once another company takes that role, I think that will be the final straw. And what I mean is they'll end up like Sega, making Zelda games for PlayStation.

I wouldn't mind paying a premium price for something that's premium quality, but then they have to go and put another barrier to entry on third party controllers. Who cares about other companies helping them innovate their product like this great example you have presented here, when you're already making bank on the system, games, toys, etc. Puts a bad taste in people's mouth, like I'm just about done and I've barely had my system. But yeah, I still agree with you that this controller looks totally awesome. If it actually let you split the controllers and offered a fully functional shell, then there would be no issue here.

Buying one of these totally transformed my Switch. It’s actually nice to play in handheld mode now. No more painful hands after extended play.

No lag, no drift and a traditional button layout (minus the c stick). Only thing stopping me buying it is they don't make a case to put it in!

Sadly the right side is not offset like the satisfye grip, that's the biggest let down for me
