Now you know why Kurapika brought a shovel when fighting his first Phantom Troupe Member. It's like the Uchiha Clan Massacre. But here, the culprits dug out the special eyes of 128. Kurapika brought the shovel with him, not because he couldn't afford to lose, but because the phantom troupe member couldn't afford to survive his vengeance.
It's the note that they left that is really interesting. What did the Kurta even do to Meteor City? Either the Troupe were tricked into believing the Kurta did something to Meteor City or the Kurta somehow really did do something. But that doesn't make much sense, considering how isolated they were. They must've been framed by Sheila.

Is so sad to think they did it all one and only to cause fear and hate. Idk if that's what Togashi meants with the Kurta Clan and Phatom Troupe story, but for me is a great exemplo of how violence only cause more violence
It’s honestly crazy how much of a parallel the destruction of the Kurta clan has when compared to kurapika spiral into the person he’s becoming now ; when he first learns nen his abilities were mainly forms of defense and restraining nen until he fights uvogin . He becomes disgusted at uvogin while torturing him for information and when he asks uvogin why the troupe did what they did and how they could even enjoy it ; he simply laughs , telling kurapika that he didn’t really need to do a reason to do what he wanted to do anyways. Now months after he’s left York new city and joined the zodiacs he’s become indifferent to the thought of torture and the many ways the hunter association avoids accountability for the many crimes that continue to take place in the world ; his abilities now no longer prioritize defense and restraint but now are a testament to how far he’s willing to go for his version of justice ; he’s willing to sacrifice his lifespan and immeasurable amount of times so he can use the strength and talents of himself and others around him to ensure his justice. After the murder of the kurta clan krollo develops his ability to steal abilities from those who can become a threat to him but now kurapika after undergoing similar tragedy and experience is developing a similar ability to steal away the abilities of those who harmed him/ stand in his way to obtain his justice.
Chrolo should steal kurapika nen ability and senritsu ability Kurapika ability once the victim is chain and put on zetsu state hisoka can't not escape jus like what happen to uvo. Senritsu ability he can hear a person and detect who it is
I saw a video proposing that the Phantom troupe didn't do it. The reason for this was because in the newer chapters, the troupe's backstory was revealed. In it, they said that they would play the role of the villians. So the idea is that they were blamed for it, didn't do it, but took responsibility for it. This is supported by (if i remember correctly) Uvogin when at first he doesn't seem to remember the Kurta but then says later, once he was deeper in the fight, that he does remember. This would also explain why Chrollo does not seem to already own a pair of Scarlet eyes before the YorkNew auction.
Does anyone feel off that the Phantom Troupe would do such a thing just for a job? I mean, sure Feitan was probably the ringleader expert on this one, but i just dont see the others taking part like that. Its even weirder given their revealed tragic meteor city back story. Really makes the troupe look childish. I feel like Togashi is cooking some kinda twist here somewhere.
The meaning for the existence of the phantom group is to make the world fear them Through that. They can keep their homeland safe This is the only way to protect their homeland since not exist anyone, any other way to protect their homeland
Nah uvogin literally said he was there and said the Kurta clan was strong, it’s pretty much confirmed they did indeed genocide them. I don’t even understand why anyone would think otherwise, they are explicitly evil people.
Dude was 100% ready to smoke Gon and Killua for escaping and executed someone when his ally threatened his beloved. The dude's a scumbag right alongside the rest of the troupe.
Considering how much the Phantom Troupe members use violence and cruelty, it makes sense that they did it. The motivation behind the formation of the Phantom Troupe was to become powerful and feared to protect the refugee population of Meteor City. To the Phantom Troupe, this is just another heinous act to add to their reputation.
I dont get how people can love the phantom group, the AUDACITY they have to complain about their members dying. Its making me go crazy and some people feel sympathy with them!
So... Guessing from the motto of meteor city "we reject noone so take nothing from us" i can think of few things 1. Kurta family wasn't all perfect and rejected certain groups, and Because phantom troupe followes the motto of meteor city they did "justice" on kurta clan 2. Kurta clan was a clan of good people who reject noone, and phantom troupe left those messages to mock them 3. Phantom troupe follows that motto but they're hypocrites 4. Maybe there is something more to kurta clan that we don't know about? Like a dark past when they were doing bad things? Idk it just feels very hypocritcial to leave that kind of message after literally going out of their way just to turture and harvest eyes from those people It either feels like a "eye for eye, tooth for tooth" kind of revenge, or act of spite
Thing is Sasuke and the Uchihas were 100% based on them just Sasuke faith was worse cus he had to live a thousand yrs seeing his family die and tortured. Ppl love Kurapika(including me) but hate Sasuke cus he’s a child showing how cptsd can affect you, calling him emo and gay just cus bro had emotions and wasn’t emotionally constipated like Naruto and Tohru(fruits basket) and happy go lucky
The note also says “but don’t take anything from us” which is uh implys there’s more then we know here. It’s sad tho because Kuripika is becoming as bad “two people said they would rather die then give up the eyes but they ended up changing their mind without dying”… what did he do to those people? Disproportionant revenge and becoming a monster is a big theme in HunterxHunter you see it with the troupe and even with Gon. Gon was willing to kill a helpless woman, Kuripika seemingly is willing to torture people now, the troupe had to watch so many snuff films that they became insensitive to death and torture and became what they were hunting. Even more minor characters like Gyro wanting to kill all humanity because of how he grew up. Prince Hawkenburg being willing to use violence when he hated the idea of it before. Kuripika is in trouble or at least his morality is. It’s amazing writing.
The phantom troupe makes no sense. Bunch of kids having fun playing in a shit life. One of them gets brutally killed and dismembered. So they become monsters and do the same stuff and worse to avenge her. Their intention being to lure out the criminals that did it yet they've become nothing but killers.
But what if the kurtua clan are evil clan, and they were the one behind the kidnaping of kids from meteor city and they are responsible for the murder of sarasa (maybe they use kids as devil sacrifice ). Krollo finds out after long search and took revenge.
I'm still skeptical it was the troupe, when kurapika faced uvogin, he mentioned his clan and the scarlet eyes which uvo was confused about. It was only after some lines were exchanged that uvo even bothered to acknowledge kurapika's accusation. It could be seen as a confession or uvo admitting it due to togashis writing that the troupe only takes on the role they are given, which we can infer given their backstories as actors
I have to think that the massacre _wasn't as unwarranted as people think!_ Look at how strong he gets when his eyes are activated, I don't think the eyes mark them as targets for "trinket hunters" as much as a clan of assassins even more renowned than the Zoldycks and a million times more secretive (Killua has described his adventures to his father, but I'm willing to bet if he ever heard the description of or saw Kurapika's scarlet eyes he'd fear sweat and demand Killua never associate with him again)! I don't agree with the Phantom Troupe taking out the Kurta clan for nothing, the kid's obviously don't know so they had to take out innocents (imagine Uvogin doing that), but I look at their list of targets in the jobs they take and see common factors: They are brutal They do things to try to help (brutally) surprisingly often And they usually _punch up_ with their targets (the mafia), rarely punching down (the side-group of Chimera-Ants that moved into/threatened Meteor City) ....but there's a common theme in the clients they chose to take, and while it's usually self serving, I have also witnessed it being done to help, so which was the Kurta Clan? And don't tell me it's _"just for the money,"_ (self serving) because, also, _what did they do with all that money!?!?_
I think the Kurta were secretly evil, and Kurapika only highlights how dangerous they would have been as a specialized group. They were going to off the world, or something, and Kurapika is actually holding this revenge for people who _technically_ saved him
I attach to the theory of Sheila being Pariston and inducing the Phantom Troupe to do those things (maybe she told them they were the ones killing Sarasa)
Phantom troupe aside the prince Tseridich is also messed up in his own right dude took the eyes and had kurapikas best friend beheaded the succession arc is crazy
I never got the appeal of having a dead person's eyes floating in a tank, simply to look at them. I mean they do not do anything for the owner. And eyes without a body are just creepy no matter how rare the colour.
If i had a nickel for every time there was a village of people with red eyes who got massacred in anime i would have two nickels. Which is not a lot but it's weird that its happened twice
The first one shot of Naruto were published in 1997, but the first chapter is from September 1999. HxH first chapter: March 1998. In the One shot there isn't character like Sasuke (the copy of Kurapika) or the Uchiha Clan (Kuruta). I provided this info here cuz i know some ppl in the comments really need this.
There's a theory that the Phantom Troupe did that as an act of revenge, I read a little bit of manga (spoilers)‼️⚠️ In the phantom troupes childhood they have a best friend a little girl and she went missing in (probably) days until she was a found in a sack all covered with blood and bruises as if she was tortued for fun with her body disassembled. There's also a letter peirced on the victims forehead in a (probably) different language that only chrollo understands but never revealed what it says
This could be true but I don't know what the kids did to deserve their fate.I feel like the troupe would not do something like that considering they were children with a terrible upbringing, but I wouldn't say it's past them considering they are fine with murder where the potential victims may have children

@@SinstatHxH anime started aimed at older kids and younger teens, but eventually the themes were mature enough that the show got an ma rating (specifically halfway through the phantom troupe arc) the thing is at the time anime was still heavily censored so hxh doesn't quite have the gore of the manga but it does a decent enough job showing the gravity ofbthe situation otherwise like the bomber, sure Genthru's kills aren't as gorey but it's pretty dark when he turns someone's face into a smoldering husk instead of just blowing it off.
Funny that person the Phantom Troupe sold the eyes off to was thw boss of the same person who killed one of they're friend and basically started the Phantom Troupe as a whole and once they realize that They will go batshit insane and with Hisoka and Kurapika also on the Boat its gonna be a bloodbath, Togashi I love you but leaving us on this massive cliff hanger hurts the soul.
Chrollo let the hate dictate his path.. which is why he turned into the very monsters that killed Sarasa. Kurapika, is letting vengeance dictate his path to begin with, but realizes that sacrificing his life in order to give his fallen brethren peace is far more honorable.
Literally Batman and Owlman
“…we both gazed into the abyss and when it gazed back, you blinked...”
Phantom Troupe members are cool as hell but not gonna lie I don't feel bad when any of them dies, in fact I'm amused whenever there are turn of events like that one with Shalnark and Kortopi
You'd think they'd leave some of the clan alive so that more eyes could be taken when they repopulated
Nah. Better to make a quick buck than to wait for 5 generations. Not that it's a dumb idea, but not also a smart idea.
Its also s good thing tho
If not them others would eventually find them anyway
if there's only a limited number of eyes available on the market, the prices would go up.
@@DemonicEmperor2023that in no way justifies what they did

Phantom troupe
*loses one girl that walked off at night in murder children town*
“the world will pay”
procedes to slaughter entire clans and families who did nothing to them
They started all this shit just because they had to recast their power rangers dub 😂
Even though it's canon it still sounds weird to me, because we never really see the troupe act with this much cruelty elsewhere
the only to turn the eyes red is though GREAT anger or hate(kurapika only have red eyes when there are things related to phantom troupe or the eyes) ,i don't understand why people only NOW realize this is what happened, plus "we never seen the troup act with this much cruelty".......are you drunk? did you forget the massacre they have done all the york saga? or the torture of their enemy?
And yet the phantom troupe had the audacity to feel emotions about eachothers well being.
can't stop thinking about the group of kids from the slums could've been theater actors but instead they turned to be the most infamous group of thieves
I mean... They kept the Troupe part in their name I guess..
Umm, I have a question, did the phantom troop be the one who killed that clans ? I feel like they are not the ones who killed them (this is my thoughts)

Now you know why Kurapika brought a shovel when fighting his first Phantom Troupe Member.
It's like the Uchiha Clan Massacre. But here, the culprits dug out the special eyes of 128.
In front of their friends, neighbors, wives, husbands and children.
Kurapika brought the shovel with him, not because he couldn't afford to lose, but because the phantom troupe member couldn't afford to survive his vengeance.
Reading this makes me smile with joy knowing what Hisoka plans to do to them
I wonder if Kurapika ever has kids to restart the Kurta Clan lineage or plans to die as the sole member left so that people stop pursuing their eyes?
Uvogin did described the fight against the clan, he said they were strong.
That ending scene complete made me forgive not having kurapika in the final arc in the 2011 version so cold tbh 🧊
Saw some theory saying Sheila is Paristan loool and he set this all up.
No, the line written on the paper is "we reject no one, so take nothing from us" is a well knowm motto of the Kurta clan village. It's their motto. The phantom troupe mocked the Kurta clan's motto.

Is so sad to think they did it all one and only to cause fear and hate. Idk if that's what Togashi meants with the Kurta Clan and Phatom Troupe story, but for me is a great exemplo of how violence only cause more violence
time for the goat Hisoka to take out the trash
Can’t wait to see him fight phinks and nobunaga
As it tends to go for people like the Phantom Troupe, “If not careful you are sure to become the monster you started to fight against.”
This is why the phantom troupe are awesome villains
I'm glad hisoka is after them, chrollo needed 2 other members to fight him, they should be afraid
Chrolo should steal kurapika nen ability
and senritsu ability
Kurapika ability once the victim is chain and put on zetsu state hisoka can't not escape jus like what happen to uvo. Senritsu ability he can hear a person and detect who it is
*FK PHANTOM TROUPE*
(This feeling hasn't changed in years and I don't think ever will for me!!)😅
Same. I despise every single one of them
And that's why i loved characters who had unstable emotions like Kurapika and Neferpitou
The Spiders are cool and likeable, but let's not forget how monstrously evil they are
Does anyone feel off that the Phantom Troupe would do such a thing just for a job?
I mean, sure Feitan was probably the ringleader expert on this one, but i just dont see the others taking part like that. Its even weirder given their revealed tragic meteor city back story. Really makes the troupe look childish.
I feel like Togashi is cooking some kinda twist here somewhere.
The meaning for the existence of the phantom group is to make the world fear them
Through that. They can keep their homeland safe
This is the only way to protect their homeland since not exist anyone, any other way to protect their homeland
Absolutely agreed
Nah uvogin literally said he was there and said the Kurta clan was strong, it’s pretty much confirmed they did indeed genocide them. I don’t even understand why anyone would think otherwise, they are explicitly evil people.
Wow so they sacrifice so many just for "prevention" 😥
I feel like kurta clan gonna be revealed as evil too. They would not have done this without any reason
It’s hard for me to believe nobunaga would do something like this 😢
Dude was 100% ready to smoke Gon and Killua for escaping and executed someone when his ally threatened his beloved. The dude's a scumbag right alongside the rest of the troupe.
Phantom Troupe, but we have a sad story while growing up. Please don't take us out.
And most people worship these murderers, crazy
This why i wanted Kurapika to continue his hunt sooner
So... Guessing from the motto of meteor city "we reject noone so take nothing from us" i can think of few things
1. Kurta family wasn't all perfect and rejected certain groups, and Because phantom troupe followes the motto of meteor city they did "justice" on kurta clan
2. Kurta clan was a clan of good people who reject noone, and phantom troupe left those messages to mock them
3. Phantom troupe follows that motto but they're hypocrites
4. Maybe there is something more to kurta clan that we don't know about? Like a dark past when they were doing bad things?
Idk it just feels very hypocritcial to leave that kind of message after literally going out of their way just to turture and harvest eyes from those people
It either feels like a "eye for eye, tooth for tooth" kind of revenge, or act of spite
So thats why Kurapika brings a shovel.
Psychological warfare.
I strongly believe that this was the basis for the sharingan. Even the activation ie. emotional trauma is the same as well.
so THIS is where danzo got his idea from lol
imagine if Kurta Clan knows Nen + their scarlet eyes, They all can do the 6 types of nen. They will not be defeated easily with that.
Funny thing is the phantom troupes actually forget them
Never thought I'd say this but, in Hisoka we trust 🙏🙏🙏
I find it weird that I agree with you on that
*Also bungee gum has properties of both gum and rubber*
It's just a shame that Kurta clan didn't study nen. They could've put up a fight and their had a higher chance to survive
They likely did have Nen users among them since Uvo said they were strong
@@aceclover758They were strong because of their red eyes. They don't know about nen.
Hisoka is gonna annihilate them 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯
Cant wait for the rest of the phantom troupe to get destroyed by kurapika
Sometimes I have a feeling that the Phantom Troupe didn’t do this. It doesn’t seem like their type of way of doing things. Idk
Remember they massacred the entire auction hall to steal some items? They would 100% do something like this
The fact Tsereidnich is implied to be worse than the Phantom Troupe enough Kurapika isnt actively hunting the Troupe anymore is so fascinating to me.
Some of y'all still gonna crush on Machi
The phantom troupe makes no sense. Bunch of kids having fun playing in a shit life. One of them gets brutally killed and dismembered. So they become monsters and do the same stuff and worse to avenge her. Their intention being to lure out the criminals that did it yet they've become nothing but killers.
It makes sense. Becoming what they sought to destroy
But what if the kurtua clan are evil clan, and they were the one behind the kidnaping of kids from meteor city and they are responsible for the murder of sarasa (maybe they use kids as devil sacrifice ). Krollo finds out after long search and took revenge.
The phantom troupe is a group of thief/bandit
They were after the scarlet eye
KURAPIKA AND HISOKA ARE THE TROUP'S COUNTER
I'm still skeptical it was the troupe, when kurapika faced uvogin, he mentioned his clan and the scarlet eyes which uvo was confused about. It was only after some lines were exchanged that uvo even bothered to acknowledge kurapika's accusation. It could be seen as a confession or uvo admitting it due to togashis writing that the troupe only takes on the role they are given, which we can infer given their backstories as actors
That “female traveler” is the one that got them massacred…
damn, i felt like i unlocked the sharingan when reading the caption out loud without volume.. i read it like i was the narrator 💀💀
I have to think that the massacre _wasn't as unwarranted as people think!_
Look at how strong he gets when his eyes are activated, I don't think the eyes mark them as targets for "trinket hunters" as much as a clan of assassins even more renowned than the Zoldycks and a million times more secretive (Killua has described his adventures to his father, but I'm willing to bet if he ever heard the description of or saw Kurapika's scarlet eyes he'd fear sweat and demand Killua never associate with him again)!
I don't agree with the Phantom Troupe taking out the Kurta clan for nothing, the kid's obviously don't know so they had to take out innocents (imagine Uvogin doing that), but I look at their list of targets in the jobs they take and see common factors:
They are brutal
They do things to try to help (brutally) surprisingly often
And they usually _punch up_ with their targets (the mafia), rarely punching down (the side-group of Chimera-Ants that moved into/threatened Meteor City)
....but there's a common theme in the clients they chose to take, and while it's usually self serving, I have also witnessed it being done to help, so which was the Kurta Clan?
And don't tell me it's _"just for the money,"_ (self serving) because, also, _what did they do with all that money!?!?_
I think the Kurta were secretly evil, and Kurapika only highlights how dangerous they would have been as a specialized group. They were going to off the world, or something, and Kurapika is actually holding this revenge for people who _technically_ saved him
Kurapika is my hxh favourite character
I attach to the theory of Sheila being Pariston and inducing the Phantom Troupe to do those things (maybe she told them they were the ones killing Sarasa)
I love hxh
Phantom troupe aside the prince Tseridich is also messed up in his own right dude took the eyes and had kurapikas best friend beheaded the succession arc is crazy
My poor babies😢😢😢
having a nen user who can provoke strong emotions would make the process less of a hassle
The Phantom Troup did it to obtain the names of the men who hurts their friend in the past
I’m surprised he’s not a villain…
Plus twist is that villagers were actually killers and did horrible things for money and power
Bet Fetain had fun with that one jeez that's brutal
Go get em Hisoka. Hunt em one by one.
Me : Read the title and see "is an aw..."
My brain : dame that so AWesome 😎
I never got the appeal of having a dead person's eyes floating in a tank, simply to look at them. I mean they do not do anything for the owner. And eyes without a body are just creepy no matter how rare the colour.
I hear they're popular villain decorations!

Keep in mind things like this really did happen in real life with indigenous tribes being the targets
That's what the Los Zetas cartel did for real.
اللهم صل وسلم على محمد وعلى آل محمد
There's a theory that the Phantom Troupe did that as an act of revenge, I read a little bit of manga (spoilers)‼️⚠️
In the phantom troupes childhood they have a best friend a little girl and she went missing in (probably) days until she was a found in a sack all covered with blood and bruises as if she was tortued for fun with her body disassembled.
The kurta clan were terrified of people and were nomadic. That's cap, no question.
This is complicated because ryuseigai citizen will never harm anyone unless they got attacked
They should've just breed the Kurta's like livestocks then profit for infinite amount of Kurta eyes.
I realy like Chrollo, his design and ability is realy cool, and then i read the manga when he fight with Hisoka, after that i don't like him anymore.. 😅
I don't like him one bit now.. 😂
Yeah, he feels cheap and petty now doesn't he.
Nowhere near as cool when he fought the Zoldycks
Holy F, same. When I was a kid, I thought he was cool before but as I grew up and understood what they did, I then always think he needs to vanish
Well he is a bandit after all
