Going casually from Assuck to Return of the Mack back to Assuck without missing a beat is fucking pinnacle shit and another reason why this has become my favourite podcast ever. Keep bringing that gold, guys.
Holy shit I’m crying laughing in a supermarket cause of the return of the Mack bit 😂 As soon as I get home I’m putting it on and my kitchen is gonna see some serious spin kicking
Kevin from Hope Con came to my record store a few weeks ago and is one of the sweetest and nicest people I’ve ever met. Get him on the pod ASAP, especially since he may have something in the works………👀
@@corycourtney8923 I would have bet money that APMD would have been more active when Trap Them broke up, since they shared a guitarist. Wishful thinking, I guess.
Was just lifting to Killing Time two days ago and was thinking if you guys had ever mentioned Brightside. I’m early into the video but so far so damn good.
That Leeway song is amazing. It has always reminded me of faster Pretenders songs like Tattooed Love Boys... if there way suddenly an epic pit in the middle of it.
Colin with two of my fav hometown bands in a row. BFB did run shit back in the day especially in the northeast. Their shows were scary mix of hardcore dudes, big old skins, punks and a few metal heads but always a blast!
Special shout out to: Comback Kid's: "Dead on the Fence" two massive breakdowns almost bookending one another...best bangs since Bieber's original haircut!
@@garthmaul1575The middle section is quite possibly the most evil sounding shit ever written, but I’m not quite sure if I’d classify it as breakdown necessarily if you know what I mean. Either way Children of The Grave is such a ripper.
Misery Index Lore: The early line up of Misery Index is just the Destroy the Opposition line up minus John Gallagher. That's why Retaliate sounds so similar. Allegedly those guys all quit Dying Fetus over some band money drama and started Misery Index right after. The line up between Destroy the Opposition and Stop at Nothing are completely different.
Funny enough, and Rob will admit to this, the breakdown in Ramallah by Ramallah is the riff from Wolverine Blues. Also Car Bomb - Hypnotic Worm is another drywall endangering breakdown for the list.
I totally thought I would've been the only one mentioning Car Bomb if I did! Fuck yeah! (Bo read out my Warning pick to Colin but didn't recognize the track 😪)
World collapse are true goats. Like if Harley and JJ worked in fashion but were still hard af. The two main guys were in true blue. There’s great live footage of them on the cold world No omega dvd
the crushing end of a tune called Prion which then opens up a door to the sonic clobbering of Greetings From the Gallows off of that one album called ‘Spirals’ by that one N’England group
I am 53 and have been into the New York Hardcore seen for ever! Lol I love both of your bands and I really love how you guys know what you’re talking about… But for the life of me I cannot believe you have not mentioned a Leeway born to expire in any of your episodes?! Some of those riffs are the hardest ever. AJ Novello… Hands-down, that’s all I’m saying keep doing what you’re doing. Much love.
Downpresser played the intro, started the next song and some chick bounced her head off the barricade and was taken out on a stretcher, then they just said fuck it and played the intro again because that's all the time they had left.
Colin, we know where you stand with Only Living Witness, Sam Black Church, 454 Big Block How about the rest of what I like to call Wonderdrugcore? Cast Iron Hike - Stompbox - Tree - Scissorfight - Honkeyball - Slughog - Piecemeal
When we're talking top live moments. Type O at the Lost Horizon in Syracuse 94. Pete says "I don't condon violence, I DEMAND IT!!!". Instant pit, no music for about 10 seconds. That was a verbal breakdown call with no music.
Alone in a Crowd reunited for a benefit gig a few years ago at the church in philly. Boxed In is also on the Hatebreed cover album. Saw Subzero at L'amour with Sworn Enemy and Everybody Gets Hurt. Terrifying.
Hammer Bros with a last-minute mention from the user submissions. I'd put their song Legion up with anything else you guys have mentioned. Overcast played the metalcore-centric This is Hardcore in 2014. Not a huge reaction, only a handful of spinkickers. Someone got really hurt during them
Weekend Nachos getting the respect they deserve. God damn, what a cracked list this is.
i need all the john caution lore
McDonald’s Diet Coke in my cup holder, sausage McGriddle in hand, camo obituary hat obviously still on my head, HARDLORE BOOMIN’
Damn man… that’s beautiful. That’s like pure poetry
Going casually from Assuck to Return of the Mack back to Assuck without missing a beat is fucking pinnacle shit and another reason why this has become my favourite podcast ever. Keep bringing that gold, guys.
Can you give a timestamp to that moment?
Gotta have a 'best intro riffs ever' now
Best intro riffs and best intro songs
Return of the Mack, the most spinkickable breakdown ever.

I am waiting to hear Territory by Sepultura on this list. Do not disappoint me.
Sep was on v1!
@@bosxe ah yes but not Territory haha.
joey belladonna is native
The intro is so sick i sing it to myself so often. My fave podcast love falling asleep with Colin and Bo.
Interesting picks, can't wait to see volume 3.
I immediately listened to Return of the Mack like 5 times after finishing this episode! OH MY GOD!
Shout out Hope Con
Colin went bev2bev. Sugar free Red Bull to Diet Coke. No water in between to cleanse the palette. Respect.

Don’t give me hope. I loved APMD too. One of the best voices in hardcore.
@@corycourtney8923 I would have bet money that APMD would have been more active when Trap Them broke up, since they shared a guitarist. Wishful thinking, I guess.
Yoooo, Boxed In and Subzero was an amazing shout!!! Real shit!!!
Overcasts Fight Ambition to Kill is near perfect from beginning to end. Very surprised Bo hasnt heard it.
Can we talk about Eagles Become Vultures as another great intro fill.
Was just lifting to Killing Time two days ago and was thinking if you guys had ever mentioned Brightside. I’m early into the video but so far so damn good.
Joey has an Italian father and a native mother. He wrote the song from his heritage stand point.
Came to say this. Indians is 100% inspired by Joey’s Native heritage
That Leeway song is amazing. It has always reminded me of faster Pretenders songs like Tattooed Love Boys... if there way suddenly an epic pit in the middle of it.
can't stop thinking about the "oh my god" in return of the mack
Love the morbid Angel wee woo comment. Definitely a tasteful squeal that needs to be more apparent in Death metal. Deadbody fucking rules 🤘🏼
World Collapse is so sick. Very happy that got called out.
Acme’s song ‘Blind’ is one of my favorites.
Great band
Colin with two of my fav hometown bands in a row. BFB did run shit back in the day especially in the northeast. Their shows were scary mix of hardcore dudes, big old skins, punks and a few metal heads but always a blast!

Side By Side will play the Revolution Calling Fest in the Netherlands an Nov. 25th 2023

First breakdown ever has gotta be the ending of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Unbelievably heavy riff on that part.
Or children of the grave??
@@garthmaul1575The middle section is quite possibly the most evil sounding shit ever written, but I’m not quite sure if I’d classify it as breakdown necessarily if you know what I mean.
Either way Children of The Grave is such a ripper.
Side by Side has a reunion announced in the Netherlands later this year, lol
Absolutely underrated band Hope Con. Love that band
every song i hear it, i pause and listen to the song fully lol

The ‘couple tracks’ thing is so fucking funny.
Funny enough, and Rob will admit to this, the breakdown in Ramallah by Ramallah is the riff from Wolverine Blues. Also Car Bomb - Hypnotic Worm is another drywall endangering breakdown for the list.
Just laced that one up. Sick track. I got centralia gifted to me as a cdr outside a locust show in Brooklyn.
@@geraldbayley5781 Hell yeah. My brother in breakdowns.
I totally thought I would've been the only one mentioning Car Bomb if I did! Fuck yeah! (Bo read out my Warning pick to Colin but didn't recognize the track 😪)
Finally Undo Tomorrow getting the shoutout!
Stoked that my Leeway pick made the cut!
the AFI mosh part is porphyria at the 1 minute mark

World collapse are true goats. Like if Harley and JJ worked in fashion but were still hard af. The two main guys were in true blue. There’s great live footage of them on the cold world No omega dvd
Stand For is such a heater. That key change makes that part ten times heavier.
Korn has many worthy mosh parts
the crushing end of a tune called Prion which then opens up a door to the sonic clobbering of Greetings From the Gallows off of that one album called ‘Spirals’ by that one N’England group
Colin, its "Once more girl". Though it is definitely now "Once my pearl 🦪" never forget.

Also worth a comment to mention the Taco Bell commercial featuring Pressure Cooker by Militarie Gun is still so sick.

Lots of good lower key shit here.
Nachos and Burn are nice picks.
i can't believe i learned about a Bosstones video with Choke from you guys and NOT Pat kindlon
The best breakdown ever Is the intro to Razors edge
Downpresser played the intro, started the next song and some chick bounced her head off the barricade and was taken out on a stretcher, then they just said fuck it and played the intro again because that's all the time they had left.
i came here only to flame for not having shattered realm. good job boys

Cast Iron Hike - Stompbox - Tree - Scissorfight - Honkeyball - Slughog - Piecemeal
Return Of The Mack is hands down Top 5 best rap songs of all time 🫡
Nothing Left Inside by Black Flag has a chugging open note breakdown. 1984, but demos from as early as 1982 exist
How y’all have done 2 of these and Prayer for Cleansing’s Feinbhas a Ghabhail hasn’t been mentioned is wild to me 🤯
