This event was held in September of 2013 in San Fransisco. IMO this event was the pivotal moment when sailing entered the 21st century. A decade later, I feel very fortunate to have been there to see it all go down.
I had planned a trip up to watch in my McCovey Cove yak but they got so far behind so quick I got bummed then when they started racking wins I was afraid to go and jinx them, lol.
why are you even commenting then? It says right in the title which version of the cup this is. Why the fuck cares if they are catamarans, and yes there where foils if you actually watched. This cup brought foiling into the mainstream. Stupid comment by stupid people. Blocked.
no foils? Do I see something else than you? Those Cats definitely have foils. And it should be obvious to everybody that these are older recordings, as the description clearly says that its from 34th cup.
I like sailing and, as a matter of fact, I've owned a couple of small sailboats. I watched it on RUclips and thought it was probably the greatest thing that I have ever seen. 🇺🇸
It’s funny how slow these things now look. I reckon an ocean-going Ultime could beat them around the course, as would an AC40, meanwhile the Sail GP boat are sooo much more nimble. The tech has advanced a LONG way
Why TNZ tacked early and not on Oracle face left the door open, then didn't go all the way to the boundary but tacked when Oracle tacked, bad air game over. There will be no 2nd chance
@@raypayne2228NZ as a country has won about as many times as the San Diego Yacht Club and a small fraction of number overall. Cute would be a better adjective.
Well isn’t it amazing that such a little cute country can keep winning /defending it then, don’t worry, I’m sure America will be relevant in it again….one day.

So grand a moment realized with this win! Tight race, well skippered, and well crewed on both sides. Thank to those who brought it RUclips!
fantastic action, great strat for americans

I thought I watched this before

they could make a movie about this race
is there any Yanks on team USA
😂 no, mostly Kiwis and Aussies I hear.
Misleading clickbait by a joke channel by showing some race from like, forever ago. Catamarans and no foils. Disqualifying for this channel. Block.

Dont they say its from the 34th Cup, we are now on 37 so its pretty obvious the video is a replay?
Whats really behind your complaint?

I remember this ......who was that useless skipper ..... farker or something like that .....

True, but I think they are still looking incredible. Somehow more majestic and more massive than the AC75 monohulls.
Why TNZ tacked early and not on Oracle face left the door open, then didn't go all the way to the boundary but tacked when Oracle tacked, bad air game over. There will be no 2nd chance
What size cat is this? It has more crew than the F50, but is it more manual than hydrolic/electric? Its groaning like crazy, too.
Great explanation of Starlink and the rolling Starship burning up in the plasma field. I haven’t seen that so well described anywhere else
Amazing what a Crew what a boat what a coach 🍾 San Francisco California The Golden Coast 🌟
Amazing boats - amazing racing - banal and endlessly repetitive commentary
I like the Cats way more than the current whale on water skis.
Wow! I’m hooked
🇺🇸 magnificent
NZ are America cup legends.
It was heartbreaking to watch legends lose 7 in a row to the winners.
Very heartwarming watching them ever since though…

@@hterrebrood They've won an awful lot more in things like rugby, for example
