Yes, in the Brothers Grimm version he pretends to be his brother so as to rescue him, but I find it odd he did not tell the wife who he was, instead of sleeping by her.
In the Twelve Dancing Princesses, my favorite version is about a war vet who picks the eldest, as he "was not as young as he used to be". I thought that was appropriate
Turning the witch into stone was probably an act of mercy, considering that the alternative was to let the two bears, two wolves, and two lions rip the witch to shreds.
Queen Ramble maybe it got translated as it is from Hungarian to English? Bear in mind different languages have different conceptions of time. For example, we Spanish speaking people have a more relative concept while you English speaking people are very exact. For example, if you said you’d arrive in 5 minutes to a certain place is because you are certain of it. In Spanish using resources like “give me a sec” “in a minute” “I’ll arrive soon”, party starts at 8:00, etc... usually indicate a short amount of time that the speaker doesn’t know the exact amount of and they’re used more often than in English, or fixing a certain hour for an event usually indicates the same will start 15 minutes to an hour after said time, indicating, however, that if you have arrived by the time the host said, it won’t be uncomfortable and totally fine. To give more seriousness to the sentences that are related to time, one usually indicates an activity one is doing or a place one is into so that the interlocutor can infer that the time stated will indeed be more or less what one has stated. Maybe Hungarian is sort of like that. And since the foreign knight had been winning all day long, when the prince fought him and vanquished him, in a few minutes, it would seem almost like if it was in an instant
Actually the translation is pretty incorrect there. In the original, the narrator is saying that the young prince was handling the sword so quickly, that the foreign knight didn't even notice he was killed. I have no idea why they choose to translate it that way, because it makes basically no sense. Before judging please keep in mind that a tremendous amount of information is lost, and altered in the translation, because Hungarian is HARD. If you have any questions, ask me ;)
3 predators that never attack him. Never attack each other. And never attack the townsfolk. Now they start growling at this STRANGER HIDING IN THE BRANCHES OF A TREE! What do you do? Immediately believe the stranger. Well, I guess we know who got the brains in this family.
This channel popped up randomly in my feed, but I've been enjoying these videos. Does anyone know if there's a written collection of these stories? I'd love to read them for myself.
They're scattered about the internet, I'm sure, but these stories are difficult to find recordings of because of their age. I've been binging this channel
If you would like to read these, one can buy a nice copy of the Brothers Grimm fairytales, in which include are many, and one that is very much like this.
u r 1st 1 to say about that so far when I read comments forum &1 of the people complement this channel. Kinda annoy when some people keeping making joking over & over again like they violate the purpose of the story (like they said "be blonde to be save" in this folktale)
Heard of many variations of this, interesting how stories travel around! For instance one of the variations had the two brothers put a knife in the tree and when it was rusted it meant he had died.
There was also a version that involved a spring. If the clear water from the spring ever became dirty, then it meant the other brother had died. Another cool example of fairytale's fluctuations with time :3
"The King took the Prince to his Palace and promised him the hand of his daughter, plus the country, once he died." At least that King had the foresight not to abdicate to his son-in-law.
Very well done! I find these so soothing to watch, and just sheer fun! Nothing complicated. Bad people get punished, good people get rewarded, and life is in balance. Thank you!
I don’t know why but the animation sometime satisfies me It looks like a fairytale book or tapestries and the animation is quite simplistic it’s just satisfying...
I love these folktales so much. Reminds me when my parents would rent cartoon cassettes for me to watch on Fridays and I would see them on TV at the balcony with the warm summer breeze blowing while under a warm blanket. God I miss these days
Man, what a beauty of intro, loved it!But of course, it's a hungrarian folk tales after all, it's all beautiful and kind in the animations!Great story, too!
This tale is different from the rest. One of the brothers doesn't have a huge moustache. They don't hate each other. The younger doesn't take older brother's wife, instead goes to save his life. The wolf doesn't die brutally just for being a wolf and also the brothers are gays in incestious relationship apparently and kiss in the end. Love this one!
So I was recommended one story and after binging these videos this is my 10th one. And in conclusion, to survive: 1) be humble 2) be kind 3) be the youngest 4) be blonde
How many of you grown ups went back to your childhood days Days of listening to grandma / grandpa vocalising similar clever symmetrical but twisty at the end tales of far off lands
The princes offered the old witch kindness and offered to share a fire with her. And she repaid that kindness by turning them to stone. I get she was scared of the animals but it’s not like the princes ordered them to attack her. But if an animal that’s close to a human owner is being so aggressive towards someone, there’s usually a good reason
There are a lot of violent, negative and infuriating videos on RUclips but just here in the Hungarian fairy tails comments everyone is relieved to not seem a brothers decapitating themselves for women.
At least the oldest sibling gets a happy ending, unlike some tales.
Yes, in the Brothers Grimm version he pretends to be his brother so as to rescue him, but I find it odd he did not tell the wife who he was, instead of sleeping by her.

Alyn Myers I think it was to calm her down.
Yeah man, ombre before it was cool!

That was the same one that I watched that got me into these.
For me it was 'The Two Princes With Golden Hair'
Same

Finally a pair of siblings that love each other!
IKR!!??
Emma Black lol ikr

Wow, that is the calmest pair of lions, wolves,
And bears I’ve ever seen
I agree I would love to have one too
Yeah,calmer than my parrot
Nice story, and it is good that younger brother didn't steal his brother wife.
I get the impression he'd already found his own good life.
😂 that is a common issue indeed
True, that's how they usually end lol. This was a good one.
"Steal"
Silver ?
Turning the witch into stone was probably an act of mercy, considering that the alternative was to let the two bears, two wolves, and two lions rip the witch to shreds.
Considering most of this tales, the witch would have been reborn and then she would kill them lol
I am a Witch Hunter from the Empire. Shall I hunt the witch down?
@@witchhuntermagnuswraithman9619 Burn the witch! Burn the witch! She has turned me to newt!
What type of guy always walks with 3 carnivorous beasts?🤔
Logic: Only princes of hungarian folk tales would, my child
Those ombre locks tho

Millenial prince
Omfg😂😂
I like these tales. Help facilitate my procrastination habits.
LMAO Same, I literally have finals tomorrow
EXACTLY ! XD XD XD
Let me join this club. 😅😅

That's actually the primary reason that RUclips exists... To keep you distracted.
I love takes where the brothers/sisters are not pegged against each other but love each other dearly 🥰❤️
Only because they are 2 brothers. If this story had 3 brothers, they wouldn't get along so well
Nobody’s going to mention the fact that he literally sliced that guy in half? It was so sudden it was actually kind of funny lol
dear goodness the animation on these tales. "He was killed...in an instant!" *they'd already been fighting for several seconds*

Maybe they just meant he died in one blow. Like that one sword swoop killed him instantly

2 brothers and the princess lived hapily ever after(~_~)
What brings me back to these folk tales, is not the animation nor the stories but the Narrator🗣️🔉
ah the original hungarian guy had a very deep voice and told these tales with very good feel.
its a pity only 80's-90's hungarians will know
This channel popped up randomly in my feed, but I've been enjoying these videos. Does anyone know if there's a written collection of these stories? I'd love to read them for myself.

They should be. I remember reading a similar story in a library book.

6:18 "Good deeds are rewarded by good in return. But evil deeds shall be punished."
More like "u reap wat u've sown"
2:54 the way the foreign knight was sliced so casually. Also, why was the witch going around turning random people to stone
I think these are great. I am also happy to see a story of this kind where the brothers didn' t try to get the upper hand of one another. Very nice.
I am loving these Hungarian folk tales. The animation is beautiful and stories, very calming.😌

Lara Croft ooh i havnt heard that one before! It really is quite interesting.
Also sorry for very late reply oops
Interesting, I wonder how an objects of this can symbolize ach brother's life span.
Old man is just walking with two male tigers, two bears and two wolves with no fear of being eaten. This guy is a true legend

I know right? Creepy
I find the intro beautiful just because of this
symbolizes singing btw
I don’t know why but the animation sometime satisfies me

URK! Did not expect to see the guy cut in half, and the two halves lying on the ground! Zoinks!
Man, these sure leave you Hungary for more!
*UUUHHHHGGGG....*
Finally a wholesome story I can stand behind.
I love this channel especially the narrator’s voice it fits so perfect for these stories.I have seen almost all the stories n loving it so far💞
What a nice story about not giving up searching for a loved one, aswell as seeing a healthy brothership. I love this story alot ahh. ♥️
I love this one but I wanna know the younger brothers journey too 😄
the princes in these stories kinda be looking fresh
