Rarely do people put up such struggles for a separate state and that too, across generations! This state division drama was started by KCR to satisfy his political hunger and ego. Today Telangana took away United Andhra's 60-70% of GDP leaving Andhra n Rayalaseema in dark. Congress and BJP never bothered to provide special status to AP even after promising in Reorganisation act. Before bifurcation also lot of resources in Telangana were blocked for people of Telangana but still they wanted bifurcation to make sure SeemaAndhra is left in dark without capital city Hyderabad which is a golden goose. People of Andhra protested for around 500 days against the bifurcation but Congress taken us granted.

I remember as a kid in school, I was afraid to talk in Telangana slang because all Andra teachers and friends used to make fun of our slang. Now after Telangana we are proud of our slang, got holidays for our festivals and more and more movies started using the slang. Heighest music and dance talent was present in Telangana but never came to light due to oppression in the industry and look at it now how popular its becoming over PAN India.

I'm a telugu speaker from Telangana. Answer is simple, people of Andhra were more in number so they were in power and dominated Telangana. Telangana is a caste free state while Andhrapradesh politics work on caste system.

I'm from Mahabubnagar, Our district has been developed so much since Telangana formation! We got very good Roads, good government hospital, 24hrs power & good water supply and electrification of Railway!! Like whole andhra was already running on electric line with 3 tracks & our side there was literally no development trains were running on diesel there was only single track till gooty! That's how much underdeveloped our district was even though it was just 80kms from Hyderabad! Telangana districts development wouldn't be possible if we weren't seperated from andhrapradesh as former politicians didn't care about districts in telengana

My school principal was against Telangana movement. He didn't give us Holidays on Telangana band and hence our school was attacked by TRS party members. I still remember the way my class windows got broken and my principal's car was destroyed by those members

For Political strom he created, he must be due credited, as KCR himself says "I was just Malina Dasha(end term) leader, but there are many other who ignited the movement in 1960". But the agitation was of JAC -- Joint Action Committee, there were JAC in all sectors which has more stakes.
And I was in class 9 at that time. When I was in class 10, finally, our beautiful state came into existence. Even, the Marathwada region which was once part of Nizam is still backward under Maharashtra state. But the people of Telangana are brave to fight for their rights and carved out a separate state for them. Though language is same, but economic growth is not same. I am a Telanganite myself. All issues mentioned are real. but the movement was used by politicians particularly to take power. They simply exploited existing issues to make a power grab after YSR's death left the state in a leadership vacuum. the lack of leadership from congress high command in delhi didn't help either. that is why they have suffered hugely in both Telugu states. they have been reduced to a useless party from a position of complete dominance within a period of 5 years.

I used to stay in Hyderabad during my school and pre university days. After YSR's death there was a crisis in leadership and that was the time telengana issue got elevated and kcr also fasted. We often used to have bandhs during my 11 th and 12th. Infact some of our teachers and students supported that too. In 12 th I remember I didn't have classes almost one and half month continuously.
Credit goes to students who really fought hard for separate state...and many sacrificed and lost their lives in the process...love Hyderabad..love telangana

We OU and KU STUDENTS and nearby colleges did everything for jobs and other benifits..but leaders used it for thier political benifits and finally till date we didnt get job notifications and we are done with age limit...we lost 3.7 precious years in this movement and finally our governement is ruling extreeeeemely welllllll..exceeded our expectations ..and When everything got calm down..we literally forgot our struggle and started moving back to colleges and schools..and everything was almost settled..then congress suddenly gave a decision of seperate telangana

Rarely do people put up such struggles for a separate state and that too, across generations! Telangana people are very very stubborn and thats reflecting in the hundreds of people who died- not for Independence, but for a separate state! Then you know, the struggle is real and it should be addressed. People came together forgetting their religions or castes- all came forward for one separate Telangana. Hats off to our ancestors who put up such struggle and not backing off even in the face of death- that was the fight for a second Independence, a separate Telangana.

This state division drama was started by KCR to satisfy his political hunger and ego. Today Telangana took away United Andhra's 60-70% of GDP leaving Andhra n Rayalaseema in dark.
Congress and BJP never bothered to provide special status to AP even after promising in Reorganisation act.
Before bifurcation also lot of resources in Telangana were blocked for people of Telangana but still they wanted bifurcation to make sure SeemaAndhra is left in dark without capital city Hyderabad which is a golden goose.
People of Andhra protested for around 500 days against the bifurcation but Congress taken us granted.
Only Telangana people remember this, our schools were closed over a month during that😂
Followed by closing our schools in Andhra Pradesh the next month😂

I remember as a kid in school, I was afraid to talk in Telangana slang because all Andra teachers and friends used to make fun of our slang. Now after Telangana we are proud of our slang, got holidays for our festivals and more and more movies started using the slang. Heighest music and dance talent was present in Telangana but never came to light due to oppression in the industry and look at it now how popular its becoming over PAN India.

Answer is simple, people of Andhra were more in number so they were in power and dominated Telangana.
Telangana is a caste free state while Andhrapradesh politics work on caste system.

I'm from Mahabubnagar, Our district has been developed so much since Telangana formation! We got very good Roads, good government hospital, 24hrs power & good water supply and electrification of Railway!! Like whole andhra was already running on electric line with 3 tracks & our side there was literally no development trains were running on diesel there was only single track till gooty! That's how much underdeveloped our district was even though it was just 80kms from Hyderabad! Telangana districts development wouldn't be possible if we weren't seperated from andhrapradesh as former politicians didn't care about districts in telengana

one of the most wrong things done to telangana was that our textbooks (state syllabus) were filled with andhra culture , their poets , their leaders....but no one even mentioned a word about telangana's culture ,arts, poets and leaders...and also everything was in coastal ap slang in telugu books coz of which many telangana students had to leave behind their own telangana slang to learn from them.....after separate telangana formation I was genuinely surprised to see such beautiful poems and amazing poets and writers from telnagana

I'm from Andhra and I had to present a paper in International Political Science Association,Meerut, on formation of Telangana during my UG. So, studied about Telangana history. After my presentation I visited my uncle who lives in Hyderabad, I could see many changes (which weren't there when I visited previously)! And I felt very happy then! I have great respect for KCR and KTR.
If you look at the state of Andhra now, people are blind folded with politics that there is little development done since 2014...... I'm ashamed of current state of Andhra where politicians like to point at each other's mistakes instead of thinking themselves as people's representatives and working for welfare of Andhra!

Even, the Marathwada region which was once part of Nizam is still backward under Maharashtra state. But the people of Telangana are brave to fight for their rights and carved out a separate state for them. Though language is same, but economic growth is not same.

I was in 10th std when this happened, and I never really knew the whole story. I just thought it was another person fighting to take power. Thank you for the detailed storyline. I learned a lot.
I am a Telanganite myself. All issues mentioned are real. but the movement was used by politicians particularly to take power. They simply exploited existing issues to make a power grab after YSR's death left the state in a leadership vacuum. the lack of leadership from congress high command in delhi didn't help either. that is why they have suffered hugely in both Telugu states. they have been reduced to a useless party from a position of complete dominance within a period of 5 years.
That's true though. The 2 Congress CMs after YSR were, to put it lightly, useless.
In telangana after new state.... We got Uninterrupted power supply.... We got water.... We got good lakes with mission kakathiya...... We got many software companies..... We got many development activities.... It's true...

Last week I have requested a video on Telangana and this as came true😌. Mohak fyi now Telangana is the top producers of paddy in the country. After forming a state we rectified many problems that we had from water to electricity.
Telangana from being one of the poorest State in the country to 3rd highest gdp per capita (a state with more than 10M population) after delhi and haryana. Now Telangana is the 7th richest state .

I used to stay in Hyderabad during my school and pre university days. After YSR's death there was a crisis in leadership and that was the time telengana issue got elevated and kcr also fasted. We often used to have bandhs during my 11 th and 12th. Infact some of our teachers and students supported that too. In 12 th I remember I didn't have classes almost one and half month continuously.
