Really??? I'm big fan of Sterkel music. Currently I am dealing with some of his amazing sheet music! Symphonies, Masses, Harpsichord trios... I will upload on YT when arrange them on notation software... Greetings,
Whilst in no way detracting from the brilliance of the well known composers, Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi and so on, it's amazing how many 'forgotten' composers composed so much beautiful music. This gentleman is one such composer!
Tepper Michael.
I just opened a 2015 Réserve from Mouton Cadet Saint-Émilion to celebrate the awesome musical and artistic taste of Mr or Ms PauNG. Candles, wine and the artistry of Pau. Thank you Pau thank you life.
Meraviglioso concerto! 👏👏👏
Superb piano concerto by Sterkel here a listener might he/she is listening to Mozart or Beethoven? This man is on a par with the great Maestros indeed Beethoven rated his music. There should be a good selection of recordings of Sterkel’s music, but alas they are scarce I do have of his symphony No 2 on DHM which I love ❤.
JFX Sterkel brought a little light, wonder and humor into a period of obscurity and weariness in my life. Listening to it many years later, my sensitivity and admiration I felt for it grew. Easy and delicious listening at first, he lends the orchestral direction of his flayed intelligence, until he draws you inevitably into his universe. Each listening reveals a little more of its mystery, its magic, this work becomes ineluctably timeless “Imperial"
I like the painting (I own one by Vernet, I hope). Vernet was a friend of Pergolesi. There is a report that Pergolesi, the greatest musical soul of all time, died in Vernet's arms. One French scholar disputes this. But it may be true because the historical circumstances. More research is needed. Sterkel's music is also Italian.
In its strongest moments, this piece resembles Mozart. Mozart's piano concertos were fashionable at the time, it seems likely that the composer heard a few of them.
And in the era of Romanticism there were, no doubt, MOZARTS !!! (Sterkel Johann, Dusek Frantisek, Carl Reinicke, Raff Joachim, Ignaz Moscheles and others) Tepper Michael.
Continuation: Krommer, Kozeluch, Winter, von Eybler,... ;) Btw, I recommend taking a look at this drawing from the german Wikipedia: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Haydn#/media/Datei:Komponisten-1799.png
Why is this music so good? Because it is mostly Italian. Sterkel, spent years in Italy especially with Padre Martini and then spent time in Naples, the origin of all modern western music, until 1782. This concerto was written in 1785. This is not German music It is Italian music. As is all that is inspiring in Mozart. The rest is Mozart muzac.
Almost Mozart. So it was not self-understanding that Mozart was the best. All the boosting Mozart-Salier conflict is a little bit false. The difference is Mozart and other less know composers from the age follows from the originality and talent which is mystical somehow.
Brilliant concert, excellently performed. His style is similar to the work of the Mannheim school, Andrea Luca Luchesi and Pieter van Mulder. Pieter van Mulder (he adopted a gallant style; but over time he made a synthesis - the Mannheim, Italian school with French stylistic elements. Mulder significantly influenced Anton Zimmermann, Wanhal, Joseph and Michael Haydn, A. Mozart, Dietersdorf,...,so and on Sterkel. Sterkel work, he contributed to the popularization of chamber music with the piano in Germany. Many of his sonatas have a lyricism and free musical structure those created later by Schubert. His compositions and playing (which impressed Beethoven in 1791.) contributed to the development of a piano idiom. P.s. Today, many measure everything by the meter of A.Mozart and J. Haydn, but it was not like that in those days. The notes of compositions - printed by: Luchesi, Muldera, Wanhal... they influenced other composers.
I love the music of my great great grandfather :')

Yes indeed, he WAS great.

Condivido pienamente. Molto bene anche il concerto n. 2. Musica fresca e brillante in particolare il secondo movimento.
Listening to Johann Sterkel, I suddenly felt that music is being listened in reality - by Heart !!! Tepper Michael.
Preciosa obra musical.

Sterkel is one of the classical composers, perhaps at the same level than Naumann, who most definitely deserve a new musical awakening!
Beautifully expressed

Tepper Michael.
Thank you for the wonderful concert. Among the bustle of the day to hear such Music - to receive an unexpected, undeserved Gift Tepper Michael.
Ein komponierender Priester!
Wie Vivaldi auch.
simple very beautifull
fabuloso, lindo concerto !
doce, singelo, rico e puro , pleno em paz
It is very nice to hear such beautiful music besides Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky...
Absolute beauty ❤️❤️
¡Maravilloso!
Tepper Michael.
Very enjoyable! 💖
Bello concierto!
Muchas gracias a ti

Bach is one of the faiblest baroque composers, away with thiose prejudices

👏👏👏🎹🎹🎹🎼🎶🎶🎶👍💟
The final movement seems very familiar. Is it based on a theme by someone else? Was it used as a theme by someone else?
I really don't know... It could be since it was not unusual to borrow music by other composers.
Mozart’s early piano concerto style

Almost Mozart... Try to listen Mozart's music from 1785, Concerto nr.20 for example. It's a different world of music

Did Mozart copy this ???
