A good overview of the supports available to students and parents of children with educational and exceptional needs.

God bless them. Do anyone know any college or university in Canada that I can take a course that has to do with education for disabled students

and now look at how bad BC schools look like. Educators shortages gets worse every year. EAs are now sitting 1:1 (if you are lucky enough to have that) with a kid just to manage behaviors. Consultation? Huge caseload and you can only assign students an IPad Communication device for speech and let the families and EAs figure it out how to use them. Students with the most significant needs need direct instruction and support. Also, these videos do not even show the disastrous situations for older students. You have students reading at Kindergarten level sitting in a 7th grade classroom in the name of inclusion. Good luck adapting your lessons.

Special education in Vancouver sounds like a joke. Putting kids with significant delays and low incidence disabilities in a regular ed. classroom is stupid. Offering services from therapists on a consult basis only is pathetic. Those disabled children need a teacher that is qualified to teach special education, not someone who learns on the job and EA’s who have to do the teaching, basically. God bless those assistants. I respect the teacher, too. The real fault lies with Canada itself and it’s shoddy methods of teaching the disabled.

I am pursuing special b.ed in hearing impairment after that I will be a special teacher for hearing impaired children .... Or I will teach in inclusive set up ... Its very big responsibility to teach and handle them ..... I think we have to apoint only those who actually want to do work with them not those who only want money ..,.....
