I really appreciate such a realistic review of the Be My AI function. Most of the demos I've seen don't show the possible errors AI can make. Still amazing and feels like science fiction to me. In the app's defense - the name on the card really does look like "Yeri". 😁
Does it really? That's so funny! Anyway, thank you. for your compliment. I try to do my best to show both the good side and bad side of things. People should have the realistic picture as much as possible! :)
Be my eyes has dark mode on android, you have to turn on force dark mode in developer options
Yes, that is a way around it, but that is not a native dark mode. When you use force dark mode, it messes with other apps and can make them harder to see because force dark mode isn't perfect unfortunately.
Yeah true, it just should support it by default, i dont think i had any problems with it but i think you can see way more then me lol

Thanks for that review. Very helpful as a trainer in vision-related A T.
You're welcome! And nice to meet you. :)
Carrie, be my AI is cool😊 I love it. I not only use it for describing things but, I also use it to chat with it about anything I want like my day or music or whatever.
That's definitely a fun thing to do! I'm glad that you're enjoying it.
I’m glad so too Carrie. Hopefully it can do more things in the future.
I will have to check that out. Thanks for the information. I did update the app from the App Store.
Thanks for the comment Larry. Hope you tried it and liked it!
@@carrieonaccessibility yes I also use the Seeing AI app on my phone with the new update to where it will describe images and also read any text that is in the image and I’ve also done the scan document in the Seeing AI app, and I was able to ask questions about it
That’s so cool. I’ll check that out
Awesome! :) Let me know how it goes after you do. :D
@@carrieonaccessibility I tried it out. I had my new iPhone sitting on my bed. And it said it right
I will be your eyes!!
:) Okay Steven. haha.
Thanks! So impressiv how you use the iphone, great app! How can i make Be my eyes - App talk the result of the picture? After the last ios update i cannot find that feature.
Unfortunately, be my AI doesn't read its responses aloud unless you use a screen reader like VoiceOver... but Seeing AI now has a Ask Seeing AI feature and it reads aloud! I'm making a video on that hopefully coming out next week.
Can’t wait for self driving cars though ! I’m also visually impaired I have a Guide Dog in New Zealand
That's what I'm waiting for too! Self driving cars! I WANT ONE! :D
Good to know that about the OCR with this app.
Yes, but they are working on it and I'm sure it will improve! It is more a limitation of the AI than a limitation of tech.
It's been nearly two years, since I was shocked that the Seeing AI app, was able to read a handwritten letter I found fluttering making noise in my door clip. I expected it just wouldn't at all say anything or that it would be something like the gibberish that voiceover reads in parts of iHeart Radio emails.
It still fails in a few grocery sections. The person may have just had very clear handwriting maybe resembling a commercial font. It also read separate printed stock words that were part of the stationary. So after that I tried Seeing AI again to try and set the LED clock on my oven and range top. Same with my microwave clock. I did have to keep taking pictures to get the translation, to read those things
I was hoping you would ask about the helicopter LOL
Lol! I should have done that!
I'm looking forward to trying be my AI out 2:55
Awesome! Let me know what you think!
@@carrieonaccessibility i love be my AI! I went outside and took a picture of my surroundings and discovered that i was right by a burger king restaurant
Im trying to get my dad to use this but there is no text to speech option on the app. How are you getting the text to speech, through the app or the phone operating system?
I'm using it through the operating system. For this, I was using a screen reader which is built into the phone and reads everything.
I've heard so much about this. I can't wait to try it on Android. Also, why are you trying to spy on your neighbors? Lol
Hey, it's not spying if they are in their yard though! and Soon, soooooooooon it will beeee I hopeeeee
@@carrieonaccessibility yeah, sure. Now I know what you are truly going to be trying to do with be my AI lol
@@carrieonaccessibilityI'm still waiting for the feature on my Android device! What do you mean when you said: "Dark mode?" I have my voice over is on normal speed.
Same, i wanna try it on android
@@joshua476 Yeah, for now I have to ask my friend to get descriptions from be my AI and send them to me! I found the viceo on this channel about AI virtual volunteer and I think that it's the same as By my AI. Do you have to get access to by my AI first to get access to the virtual volunteer?
Then will have to wait bummer
Hey there, actually this video was published in november. It should be available on both iOs and Android now. :)
