  • This is not an explanation of how it works, only a showing of what it does.

I have one of these installed on my RMX 450. Love it!. For riding in technical and tight areas, the Rekluse CX coupled with a 12t front and 51 rear makes a 450 very ridable and fun in tight woods and rocks. Rocky, muddy brook crossings are a piece of cake now. The bike seldom flames out, but when it does, the bike just keeps rolling which is much better than lurching to a stop which can be dangerous. The only think I've notice with mine is that when the auto clutch is engaging it is a little bit noisier than when you are using the lever, but it sounds like yours is the same, so it must be normal. I changed out three of the springs in the EXP disk. Now running 3 red and 3 blue. It is perfect. Enjoy!!

Rekluse says its supposed to make noise anyways. My dad only installed it on his 450 because he had an issue with the decompression, and when it lugged it would often stall. He probably would not have gotten it just for slow riding on a normal bike. But im sure its good for that too

Question is this can all shifts up and down be done without the clutch lever being pulled in? And those shifts are done with throttle closed?

It shifts how any normal clutch bike shifts, all this does is make it so you can start and stop in gear easily, and not stall it out. You can shift any clutched bike without the clutch lever

Genuine question. Idk maybe it’s in my head but does it take away and power to the bike? Like if you really wanna get on it in some open trails?

It weights more than the normal clutch, so there is more rotational mass. But that is the only way it can take away power. Maybe your clutch is slipping or it is in your head

I'm looking for information about engine braking down hill. I'm under the impression that the automatic centrifugal type Recluse clutch does not provide engine braking. Does it, or does it not? I want a centrifugal clutch for my DR650 but I want engine braking
