I have a small device called Garage Door Buddy that attaches to the top of the door and gives you an alert on your cell phone whenever the door is opened or closed. It works pretty good and the software gets updated fairly often, even though its a pretty simple device. The only advice I have is to remove the crappy double-sided tape that is on it and attach some good 3m velcro or you will probably find it on the garage floor at some point.The velcro also allows you to remove it from the door when you need to change the batteries.
I went to Walmart and bought some white poster board for about $3. Plenty of light still comes thru and I avoided buying a respirator. My garage door emergency latch is like yours and I was perplexed how to simply secure it. I like your idea to drill a small hole and use a tiny wire tie.

You can bust a zip tiw with a small tug. Test it & youll see. I used a wire coat hanger and twisted it through that hole. In an emergency youll need a good set of wire cutters to cut the hanger but its not going to snap with a little pressure. Windows on a garage are kind of dumb. They are too high to see out and the bit of light they let in is pretty minimal. I just put in good lights to light it up when i need light. This did very little for legit security.

Another good idea for the emergency pull is to take the little “t” handle off the string and someone can’t hook onto it with a wire hook.

put a new dead bolt that is keyed on both sides on that frosted window door. prolly against code, but better than what you have. also, padlock the side gate outside and you're golden

U should replace deadbolt with a double keyed entry. So if they break the window, they still cant unlock the door.

Use the cylinder lock from outside
Side door is a really weak link. Also, isn’t there a film you can add to the garage doors that would let you look out but not allow people to look in? Something by 3-M or Scotchgard.
Yeah but in the dark a person can shine a lighter thru the film and see inside pretty well

90% of views come from non-subscribers in 2019 so it doesn't matter. Frankly, it hasn't mattered in years and I'm pretty happy doing videos I find interesting
xBeau Gaming I said views not subscribers. Your channel is basically allied to the gaming side of the RUclips algorithm, anything you put up that isn't about gaming will have a harder time showing up for people to view
Its sorta odd because sometimes that's the case and other times it's not. Did a video about how to make mulan sauce that did 30k views in a day! The video will contribute to the collective library and over time generate cash. I'm not too worried, it's also been quite a while between uploads but that's life.
