    How many times have you tripped on that...?

    • @Saw-IT
      @Saw-IT  Год назад

      Several people have asked that? i have had it now for 3 years and never tripped on it or ever even walk near them?
      I have also put a car in the workshop a couple times and it is too close to the edge for the wheels don't go near it. Perhaps if your shed has a path where you walk in and to the side, you may be tempted to cut the corner but i have too much junk close to the door sides. I think i thought of that when i put them in and could have placed them closer to the door edge but it has not been necessary.

    You are a skilled man with a angle grinder!

      Thanks heaps. It is an often misunderstood and under utilised tool. But so dangerous if you don’t wear PPE or engage the right quadrant of the disc to the work piece. The real value is that it speeds up so many jobs because it has so many different disc types. I mainly use the flap disc which is basically flaps of sand paper. That was a cut off disk. I rarely use it for actual grinding. The only thing I will never use is the chainsaw edge disc or any sort of disc for carving wood. That scares the crap out of me because you move it around and touch the wrong quadrant of the grinder disc it will fly back and take a bite out of you. It is counter intuitive but the sparks must fly towards you so the tool can’t.

    Love yr design and idea. We just installed a nightmare Stratco garbage garage . Security is an issue as is how to airtight those huge gaps to keep out the dirt and rodents. 👍🙏🇦🇺

      Thanks Elwood, but sorry to hear your garage has other issues too. If it is on a slab like this, they can install a vermaseal strip. You can see mine in the video. I then installed a wooden frame and stuffed it full of "Earthwool" insulation from Bunnings then lined it with 12 ml ply. Back then it cost $37 a sheet but ridiculously expensive now, completely transforms the space. Before it was always too cold or too hot to work inside now is perfectly fine 24/7. And before the whole shed sounded tinny if you tapped it but now is solid. There is a lot you have to do to make these cheap sheds half decent. The latest addition is a water tank. work in progress. I'd be concerned that someone could freeze and chisel those external bolts off pretty fast... cool video though, thanks

      oh, yeah, I live in the subtropics and I seriously did not think of freezing the bolts. So I would just use a freeze spray? That could be my easiest way in if I lock myself out.

    A trip hazard though

    • @Saw-IT
      @Saw-IT  Год назад

      Yes i agree, but i have not tripped on it, since it was installed 2.5 years ago. Thinking about it, i just don't walk that close to the door edge? You can even install it further towards the edge. Cheers.
