@@thegreatgamers9812 the head sculpt is undeniably spot on but the body is a total mess. Been seeing too many cases of the legs breaking off to feel comfortable purchasing this figure. The quality of the Figuarts line is falling, but the fanboys will just attack you for pointing out the lack of quality.
Gohan's always been my favorite DB character. As a meek and studious kid, I were happy to find a character who only fought due to necessity and his sense of responsibility. It's the same reason why characters like Mega Man X and Guilty Gear's Ky Kiske appealed to me back then.
Fun fact if you have the older ssj2 Gohan either version, the ssj2 head does fit on this figure, the skin tone might be different, and it might look a little weird because the head is more sunken down, but that's a thing ya'll can do.
*QotD:* Soft goods can better portray foofier elements of a design (like Doctor Doom's cape from Marvel Super Heroes/MvC2). Something like the Mezco DKR Batman has a good idea for capes too with the heat-sealed vinyl bits that help it drape more naturally. I'd prefer it kept to capes/jackets, mostly kept to bits that largely don't hamper articulation.
Yeah I’m gonna stick with my 2.0 battle damaged gohan with the ssj1 and 2 heads once they release like a 5.0 gohan then I will MAYBE buy it but I just cannot keep supporting them with all the issues these figures have nowadays
Good choice. I have both and prefer the original. Got mine from P-Bandaii, tried to return it for QC issues, got re-directed twice then told to get in touch with Premium Bandaii. Absolutely ridiculous. I’ve come to like this figure a bit more since then, but generally I don’t like the direction SHF is going w/ the DB figures- specifically the 3.0 bodies & figure heights.
Idk why tamashii insists on using those weird hip flap things…I think they did it best with super hero ultimate gohan and I’m surprised they haven’t just stuck to that instead
Nobody is talking about this issue but when I pop the head off to remove the cape the neck joints become really loose and I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or not.
I felt this was a very fair review overall. And yeah, it's easy to see why this figure came out so polarizing. One could easily argue that the older figure is overall better. For me, the best thing about this one is the new faces and hair sculpt. Outside of that, no real reason to "upgrade" from the old figure. Makes me wonder if these new heads fit on the old body.
I never even noticed the glue showing through the cape, even after all I did with it to get the head on and whatnot🤔 funnily enough I’d told myself you’d give this guy a 7 was once you reviewed him and I was right
I bought this Gohan because I did not get the battle damaged version and sold my 1.0 Gohan. I'm not mad I bought it but I'm really not liking what they're doing with the 3.0's. The 2.0's weren't perfect but they were mostly better IMO.
I’ve always preferred Goku. While I guess kids can relate to standing up to a bully, but Goku did one much better. He stood up to the bully and made him his friend. Goku’s not the brightest guy but you got admire that he’s able to tackle evil on two fronts.
So when the hell are we gonna get a 2.0 Perfect Cell, I didn’t even know about this figure I feel like there’s already been 4 teen Gohans(not saying much seems as we have 20 different Goku’s)
I will never, ever forgive Tamashii for doing the thigh swivels the way they do with their 3.0 products. Using a screw to secure the peg to the upper thigh instead of it just being part of the mold like the 2.0 figs is an objectively bad design. I always have QC issues with 3.0 figures, and it’s always the lower body. Always. Aesthetically, the 3.0s are better and it’s not even close, but I much preferred posing the 2.0 figures because they seemed way more durable.
Careful Anthony. If they spent a little more time with it just to finally choose double ball peg and stretchy material they'd find another reason to up the price on another basic main character
