Think you for sharing this very interesting article. I am a retired tool maker of 47 years. Always wanted to make my own salmon reel but never had the time. Believe me when I say that I know what it takes to machine by hand holding plus or minus 0.002 inch. I have great respect for Mr Bogdan. He has taken a lot of knowledge to the grave with him and The world was a better place with Him. There aren't very many of us old machinist left. Eney way, think you! For a wonderful video. Best wishes from Ohio. WALTER
Awesome video! Thank you so much - I've subscribed to both your channel and your mail list. Any chance of a similar video for Saracione reels? I'd love to understand how the inside of a Mark V multiplier works.
Super well done. Great explanations. One day I’d like to find a well used large trout in a left hand retrieve. We’ll used because well, my Todd are well used 😄
Mr Bogdan's shop was in the same building as my dad's company...I was 15 at the time (1980)...Got to watch how he built these masterpieces 👌🤗

Thanks for the kind words Walter, and glad you enjoyed it. Yes, the craftsmanship that Stan brought to his reels will stand the test of time!
Very cool to see just how the drag and paw system works and how each reel was made . Thanks for the video
You’re welcome! Glad you liked it!

Hello - many thanks! Yes, that’s a great suggestion. I’d like to do some one a variety of reels and Joe’s are great. That would be fun. Stay tuned! :)

@@matthewgrallert1603 thank you, I’m glad you liked it! Yes, matching a Bogdan to a fine bamboo rod is a great problem to have! :)
Mr. Bogdan switched the brakes pads in 1951 from Micarta to Delrin.
Correct!
