Atlus never fails to bring the hype with their music. I really enjoyed listening to Counterfeit Phantom when it played. Though that could be said about the entire OST lol
I'm a jazz/rock musician, and the Persona 5 series OST is the only game OST that I would listen to regularly. Shoji Meguro is primarily a guitarist, and he found a perfect balance in making jazz/rock approachable as a game OST yet preserves the funk, swing, jazz, rock energy, which is one of the big reason why so many gamers enjoy the Persona 'world'. It's not just a game, it's all of the artistic choices. Great story, great visual arts, great music. Shigenori Soejima mentioned he draws the visuals while listen to the composed soundtrack, and it makes a lot of sense why everything blends in so wonderfully. Shoji deserves more recognition.

Counter strike is such a good song. I loved Rivers in the desert to start the battle with Konoe, then they changed the song and I was dissapointed...and then that banger played and all was forgiven.
P5 and P5S forever changed my life, and I'm glad I got to spend my last summer as a kid with these characters. Holy shit I don't know if we'll ever have another game with passion for story, characters, and gameplay like P5 and P5S did. Thank you Atlus.
I want to acknowledge Koei Tecmo's sound team here. They had a hand in creating the songs as well, and have made many fantastic ones in their own respective games. The moment I heard some of these songs for the first time, I instantly recognized some traits derived from Koei Tecmo's songs. You can REALLY hear it if you've heard songs from from the Warriors/Musou games. I just want to bring it up because I frequently notice that ATLUS is often the only one getting the praise here, and I never see anything about Koei Tecmo's side of things. They helped as much as ATLUS's sound team here! There is an interview on NintendoEverything where Atsushi Kitajoh answered with that they and Koei Tecmo's sound team collab'ed to make these songs, bringing together their strengths and that they "tackled the production equally". So, shoutouts to Koei Tecmo sound team as well! And please, give THEIR soundtracks a listen. I really recommend Kotodama Runner and Samurai Scanners from the Warriors Orochi series. I could list more, but those are good picks to start with, I think.
Yeah. I feel like I was mislead by what Strikers was as a game. I have no clue why I thought it was a spinoff of the main series and gimmick gameplay. No clue it's a direct sequel and the new combat preserves the game mechanics. And I am a huge fan of Persona and SMT games

If you go into settings for the main game, you can change the battle music too. It will be remastered versions of the legacy battle music going all the way back to the original Persona. I love axe to grind but it gets a bit old lol
I think you're opinion is valid! I'm a HUGE fan of persona 5 and royal, but strikers gameplay is just *chef's kiss*. Being a dynasty warriors fan, this gameplay shits on Dynasty, needless to say, but that's only because the turn based combat was easy to go off of because it was so great. But yes! Don't feel bad about that opinion!
I like the combat better as turn based isn't really my thing, that being said i really liked p5s variation on the turn based combat anyways with the 1 mores and baton passing but i just love how they even managed to translate those mechanics unto this style of gameplay. Main thing i miss are the day to day normal life stuff of the main game but its understandable that its not i this game due to its shorter time span and more active plot

easilly one of the best soundtracks in videogames, not for how it's used because hearing only the beginning of last surprise every time because the fight is too short isn't the best thing but besides that

If you buy deluxe, you get the game and soundtrack. On ps4 its two different downloads apps.
