Ernst Roets at Black Management Forum on the failure of BEE (all inputs)

  • I participated in a panel discussion hosted by the Sandton Branch of the Black Management Forum about the failure of Black Economic Empowerment in South Africa. The discussion was over three hours. This is only a compilation of my opening statement and other inputs during the discussion. I argued that BEE is a semantic fraud, because it has nothing to do with empowerment, and very little to do with black people. I also argued that BEE is both destructive and immoral.

I see you too, sir, are a man of integrity. The fact remains, and you can ask ANY SINGLE WHITE PERSON IN SA today, that the White people in SA, just want to put the past behind us, and build together. Yes, there are differences in race and tradition, but this should not be elevated and put on a stool for all to see, rather the acceptance of these differences, and letting it lie. The beauty of SA, ARE THESE DIFFERENCES. A piece of canvas, is only the beginning for it takes on character with every loving stroke. This thing of beauty is the passion of The Artists heart, and by God's design, we are a skin kaleidoscope.

Scales put there by the British and their Swiss bankers, the Americans and their arms and media, the ANC (working with the DA and EFF) and its marxist woke mob, all working in perfect concert to extract cheap labour and cheap resources from this country. It is not by mistake or oversight that we have the highest unemployment rates or the worst education system in the world, it is by design to keep labour costs lower, and the people's minds weakened, assisted by liquor, substances and entertainment, so they can continue to be compliant. We still believe in the illusion of choice in our sham elections.

1: I lost my job in 1998 due to the perceptions that affirmative action will be applied. Three hundred and fifty people worked in the department and all were retrenched. Most were engineers and technicians. I was 48 years old and nobody would employ me, so I started a small business and worked my butt off to finally make it work. It cost my marriage and health. Then came BEE. I sold my business and house and emigrated. Never looked back.

We have to empower our people locally we need to support our own. You can drive through Sandton and notice on any development there are Australian and British companies overseeing huge projects. Put a mandate in place so that if someone buys land or operates a business in this country they have an obligation to use local professionals and local products. You will see how within a few years we will climb out of recession. We have skills and resources in this country, lets use it.

F*ck! Empowerment should equate to education. Educate people and they will be empowered. Government should be super focused on education which will grow opportunities and wealth. Not fixing education is disempowerment which is what we have now. Damn people - open your eyes. We all need to work together

Is there a full debate of this available. If so please point me to it so I can see what the others said.
Also, I couldn’t find anything wrong with what Mr. Roets said. Reminds me very much of Jordan Peterson’s lecture title something like, The Marxist lie if white privilege.
Also reminded me of the DA’s new leader saying that one of their mandates is creating more equality of opportunities instead of equality of outcome. That alone is good enough reason for me voting for him.

@@rosiematabane5292 Malema's emotions will get the better of him and then he will lose his temper. He is incapable of rational thought. His hatred of whites dominates everything he stands for. The ANC are a shining example of this disasterous thinking.

I'm a black South African and I believe bee a lazy policy, including how it was formulated. It is ill conceived and pathetically implemented, impossible to monitor and easy to find loop holes in.. all to the detriment of those it claims to benefit. The blacks and Afrikaners must unite in building self reliance, because we are both back under the thumb of the British and their Swiss bankers, who are enforced by the American Government and its arms... but.sadly, this is like stopping a train travelling at 1000kph towards a cliff..

Simply put - hire someone because of the value they will add to a business.

If I was the president, as a Black person I would learn from ANC government success and from apartheid government success as well as from their failures and get rid of all the policies that is taking this country back especially policies around racial lines.
I would make sure that the ground is level for everyone to succeed according to how hard they work and how competent they are..I would employ competent individuals in SOEs regardless of their race, Basically I will make South Africa to be what Mandela dreamnt of, I doubt anyone in government right now have an idea of how to make this a reality
