Your videos along with the skills of storytelling are absolutely top notch. I wish you to grow so much that you’ll be able to do interviews with people like them, to have open doors to manufacturers, etc. I can only imagine the quality of the content you’re going to do once you get there. Because you are going to get there. Stay patient and keep doing what you do. It will pay off!
it´s simply a perfect video trying to explain the passion on two motorised wheels and the complexity as the outstanding chalenge of The Dakar (even mor at those times). Thank you for honorinig the greatest of its kind!!!!!
Very nice man, Hubert. I met him in the desert, sunbathing, few years ago at Africa Race. His car was broken and it wasn't possible to fix it. But he was still smiling. And he was very surprised to see me on a deep soft sand pist, with a stock 950 adventure full of luggage. Later he was looking for me in the bivouac, to check if I was fine.
Great video and Hommage to a fantastic rider. These guys were flying across the desert with 60 liters of fuel on their motorcycle. For those who never went to Mauritania, the railway line that the racers were following, is the way of one the longest train. The train is so heavy that you have to be very careful when going across. The rail are so flattened by the weight of the train, that the rail sides become like blades. Ride safe.
What a great story about a great man. Thank you for telling his story. My friends and I ride a lot of desert in the USA, Southern Utah. As a young man I was inspired by the Dakar riders. So much so I own two Cagiva Elefants. Learning more of the history and the man who rode them is amazing story.
Auriol and Rahier actually saved BMW Motorrad from going out of business because the GS 80 and its successors became such good sellers after the Dakar wins!
Great stories! Keep it up! BigUp & Respect Re: Auriol - Agony with broken ankles??? Hello! I broke mine on a bike. Surely, a painful bizness, but not end of life!
I stretched my left leg abductor and found myself miserable to do 40 kms, on road! I don't even want to imagine how he endured with 2 broken ankles off-road, with sand, rocks and bumps
I'm racking my brain trying to figure out the scenario of getting between two trees and breaking both ankles. Was it branches? Did the trunks narrow just at ankle height? I need to know so I can avoid this. Haha
Look, it was in 87... I was quite a few years away even from me being born, so finding exact details is a bit difficult :) just... don't go near trees I guess? :))
To finish the dakar with two broken ankles is something else... I can't imagine anything stopping that man finishing on that day
I can't imagine doing anything with 2 broken ankles, finishing a Dakar stage... was something else!
You clearly underestimate the mighty power of adrenaline 😊
Love these old stories getting coverage!
Great story. Finishing the stage with two fractures, one an open wound 🤯 so crazy.
I can't even imagine trying to get on a bike with those injuries. Or walk. Or anything
Well told story. People like him are certainly heroes. Thanks. Les in UK 🇬🇧

That's interesting, I knew the trains over there were super long, but didn't know these other details!

Trees have roots. Those may be hidden under the sand.
❤❤❤
Wow
The clot shot took another man from the world.
Seriously? Literally said he was battling with a heart condition for a long time
