    I've been crocheting for 55 years but have never tried this stitch. Your tutorial gave me the confidence to try out those "odd-ball" knit/crochet hooks I picked up at a rummage sale. Can't wait!

    Broke my ankle and couldn't walk or drive so decided to learn how to crochet. TRIED most ALL of the EZ crochet videos and ready to GIVE UP...until I noticed TUNISIAN crochet. I visited Tunis many times so was curious. SO glad I did! This is absolutely the BEST and easiest tutorial I have seen. I am a visual learner and this was perfect for me. THANK YOU for taking time to help people learn and to feel successful. I plan to learn more stitches thanks to YOU! I plan on making gifts for family and friends since I'm feeling so confident I can do this. LOVE the afghan needle too.

    My mom makes two panels with this stitch and sews them together and adds a border and it makes a VERY sturdy and safe pot holder. We've been using the set she made for a good 4 years now and they are still looking great and holding up well.

    ok... you made me a believer...if I am going to do Tunisian, I need that Afghan hook...... but in the meantime, I found a fix for the regular hook. You know those extra rubber earbud covers you get when you buy a set of earbuds? They make great stoppers on the end of a regular hook...otherwise I would not have had 7 false starts on this sampler.... whew!!! Got plenty of practice in restarting!

The book wasnt a very successful teaching tool and I gave up and put it away. Brought the hooks out and hit up youtube last summer. These are really good as washcloths too... and they exfoliate! I have to make more of these. They do seem to use a lot more yarn than single crochet though. I'm thinking of making myself a wrap in this stitch using a larger hook and non-cotton yarn. Gotta look in the cupboard to see what I have lots of. LOL Thanks for a great tutorial!

      Hi Ebba, thank you for watching! I love this stitch for wearable projects :) I edged a capelette in this stitch and while it wanted to roll a little at first (a little blocking fixed that), I loved the contrast of the Tunisian look to the rest of the pattern :)

    Jayda, I've never had much success in posting. But I want you to know that I've made this potholder using a size 4G tunisian crochet hook! The stitch is easy. The only problem I've had is the awkwardness in holding such a long hook. I guess that will get better with time. Thank you for your tutorial! It was very helpful!😊

      Hi Barbara, we're so glad to hear you've had luck with this stitch! I agree, getting used to the longer hook takes a little time, but it does get easier with use :)

    Thank you ! I wanted to make a diagonal dishcloth but it seemed complicated. I'll be using this instead ! A beautifully clear tutorial.

    i absolutely love doing this stitch! i do need the long hook though, so i can crochet faster, without the worry of losing stitches off the end of my regular short hook

    • @JaydaInStitches
      @JaydaInStitches  8 лет назад

      Yes, using the shorter hook can be a little stressful! If you have any knitting needle stoppers you could try stuffing one of those onto the end of your hook in the mean time!
