I have to say, one thing I love about your singing Tim, is that you sing in YOUR voice, I don't ever feel like you are "putting on" a voice. It is very genuine. I always appreciate singers that just let it flow naturally. Very conversational and flowing. Tuesdays are normally boring days for most people, but not for Tim fans!

I've been a vocalist all my life and studied music in college. While I've never sung barbershop, I've always admired it and really "got into" watching quartets on RUclips since the pandemic. I always look forward to Tuesdays and singing along with all the parts when you have the music. This past weekend, I auditioned for "The Music Man" and landed the baritone in the quartet! I'm so excited to finally sing this music that I've come to love. Thanks for your inspiration! Any tips?!
That's awesome!!! Congratulations!! I haven't heard you, but my advice to someone who is just starting to sing barbershop is to remember that you're singing in an ensemble, so a big priority is locking into the chords...so singing harmony with less vibrato. It's easy for singers to want to "show off" their voice, and there are obviously moments for that. But in barbershop, ringing chords and singing within the ensemble is so important! Good luck and keep me posted on how it goes! I'm sure you'll be amazing!

Congrats! Just like Tim said, (especially) in barbershop, the ensemble is so important; your ear is at least as important as your voice. *Listen,* more than just singing your own part. Your ear will let you know if you're locked in to the chord or not.

Tim, just wow, this was really phenomenal... I'm an instrumental music teacher, and I've got a kiddo in the piano/guitar class I work with who's playing a simple arrangement of this tune - it's been on my mind. That tail end, last 6 bars or so just hurts my heart in the best way possible (minor iv - I gets me every time). Thank you for bringing such strong feelings to my heart. 😭

I've been listening to yours recordings from the beginning and anxiously await Tim's Tuesday Tags every week and have found it difficult for me say which is my most favorite from day one (nearly impossible!), however this one hits home. As a kid, my older sister, who I loved dearly, taught me to sing by always duetting with me You Are My Sunshine every time we were together. She is now in Heaven but every time I hear this song I think of her. This tag has now become one of my most favorite from you and will certainly be listening to it over and over.....and over again. Thanks again for giving us your gifts!
