    I like using the 3 conductor Wagos for making 120V Connections.
    You only need 2 connections but the third one allows me a place to put a meter probe without removing wirenuts.

    Similar issues this summer. Mobile services fix the ac using an extension cord. Had the dealer pull the fridge and found an open wire connection. The lock nut failed. $$$ later the ac is working.

    I worked on a military base in the 80's and 90's.
    We weren't allowed to use wasps sprays because their was a more environmental safe way to kill them.
    We would mix dish soap (dawn) with water. It didn't take much soap mixed into water to be very effective. Probably one part soap to ten parts water? It worked immediately, as soon as the solution hit the bees and nest they dropped to the ground.
    The wetting solution didn't hurt the painted surface like wasp spray does.
    Wasp spray will peel the paint off of a car .
    Try this and share it works immediately.

    Super history lesson and video. I was hoping to see how you would have proceeded to fix correctly. I've had low voltage wires (bed raise and lower and power awning wire break down) to fix?? I guess take down ceiling panels. Do you have an episode on this? Keep up the great work.

    Yellow is a 20 amp circuit. Disconnect the breaker and the air conditioner from the wire and test the wire for continuity on all the conductors to tell if there is a break. You’ll need a longer test wire for this to reach both ends of the yellow wire.

    • @hillbillyrv
      @hillbillyrv  3 месяца назад +1

      I thought of that later, but it really doesn’t matter. A whole new wire will have to be run.

  • @KenDunn-m2w
    @KenDunn-m2w 3 месяца назад +2

    Why didn’t you just do a continuity test from the panel box up to the air conditioner to see if there was a break in the line?

    • @hillbillyrv
      @hillbillyrv  3 месяца назад +1

      When you have power on one end of a wire but not the other, you automatically know there is no continuity.

    I use a cable tracer that puts an RF signal on a conductor. The other device in the kit is a receiver. It will make a sound so wires can be followed through walls. If the sound stops, that’s where the break is. I’ve used it to find electrical gremlins in homes, buried wire outside, etc. This sort of equipment used to be expensive. Amazon has knock off brands for $50 or less. If the customer really wanted it fixed, this is something that might help. RUclips has done no favors for those of us with small channels. I was getting income, then they changed the requirements, and now I no longer qualify. I only have it as a hobby. It would really suck for those needing it to supplement income. Unfortunately, they don’t have any real competition.

It would be neat to find the cause, but that would take a while and make a mess. It also might reveal stuff that is better left unknown. Have a good weekend. Hopefully your family is doing well.

    You might try contacting Robby Layton, he has a body shop in Utah and a large following on RUclips. That boy has a wall of Milwaukee tools and I remember him doing a video and visiting the Milwaukee booth at a trade show, he might be able to give you some contact information.
    I had bought different battery powered tools over the years and had given up on them because about the time I needed new batteries they had changed the design/voltage and the replacement battery was about what I had paid for the tool. A friend recommended that I buy Ridgid tools because they had a lifetime warranty on the batteries and tool. I now have a large collection of Ridgid tools and batteries. I did have to send a 3/8” angle drill back for warranty because the keyless chuck stopped locking. They paid the shipping both ways. I’ll be buying more.
