    Id personally like to see more on how you get the Ts out of their burrows. If there was a T that I'd love to see you document in the wild, that would have to be the Monocentropus Balfouri. They have such beautiful web tunnels. 😄 Keep up the amazing work!!

    With this hot temperatures you can be assured that the tarantula comes out at night only

    The channel is great, it's not common to see videos of tarantulas in natural habitats. Thanks for sharing with us :)

    If I have to guess, this species might be Ischnocolus jickelli

      100 points ;) It's always easier to guess after a revision or publication about the genus presence in this region :) You even find our names in the publication if you look closely

    aww better luck next time! also do you have any plan to go to socotra in the future? :D

    • @birdspiders
      @birdspiders  6 лет назад

      uff Socotra would be amazing to see for sure, but what I heard from friends who have been there (and rediscovered M. balfouri :) ) the situtation is worse than it was 5 years ago. So maybe in the future, but it has not high priority at the moment

    Beautiful seeing the areas of travel. Happy hunting. Must be amazing being able to travel to so many locals. How are you funded to be able to do this if you don't mind me asking. Love seeing the country side and showing you finding the tarantulas. Love your channel. Keep those videos coming.

      Thanks a lot Meg!
      All privately funded through my day-to-day job, at the moment I got the opportunity to travel for 6 months, thats why I started the channel so I have a lot of content :)

    Your now at 1k subscribed and yet i dont think anyone has backlogged as much as i do but hey green bottle blue if you ever get the chance also are there any others in the chromatapelma family? I ask because i want to set mine up naturally

    • @birdspiders
      @birdspiders  6 лет назад

      Thanks for your question! Well at the moment there is only a single species within the genus Chromatopelma, but this could change in the future for sure. At the moment I dont have any intentions to travel to Venezuela, a little bit unstable in the northern part

  • @Dovietail

    Please tell me you're coming to Mexico and Central America! I have several very special rare species that I was not surprised not to be able to find field habitat research on. However, when no one could even show me natural habitat examples for even the standard and very popular Brachypelma, Grammostola, and Aphonopelma species, I was left open mouth with shock! We are housing creatures that we have no idea what their housing preferences actually are. This is not acceptable.

    • @birdspiders
      @birdspiders  6 лет назад

      I traveled Central America extensively in the past for tarantulas and there are a lot of colleagues, like Edd Hijmensen (www.mantid.nl) with great information about Brachypelma from the field :)
      But you will see more on this channel in the upcoming weeks from hobby-classic species ;-)
