just a heads up, RUclips is cracking down on TTS and AI stuff this year. it will hurt a bit for you i think. might want to prepare accordingly if you can with a contingency.
All I do is narrate a story written by a human. I think youtube is more worried about people faking voices of famous people and then trying to misleading the masses. So, in terms of AI generated content, this probably/hopefully won't be judged by the same standard. But yes, if I have to use my voice, I'll use my voice. But it won't be as good as what I do now.
@@scifistories1977 - This might be the best AI TTS I’ve ever heard, very impressive! But I for one, while I appreciate AI and know it is the future… I appreciate a human voice more. To be blunt, I subscribed thinking it was a human voice, almost unsubscribed when I found out it wasn’t, not sure I would have subscribed had I known. Nothing against AI, but people matter. 😊
A lot of these stories on RUclips seem to be copy and paste, but I can witness to you that there have always been copycats in the great world of Sci-Fi paperbacks. 😅
Second time hearing this story being narrated. I still enjoyed this rendition despite knowing it. That's what happens when you have a good one. For the Rhythm that is Algo! Cheers and here is hoping for a good 2024.
@@mikkelnpetersen Indeed. There are novels I like to read once every few years. A couple of Conan stories, Lord of the Rings, Hitchhiker's Guide are always on that list.
I like this story so far, but it suffers from a common sci-fi writing problem. If your ship has an engine that can destroy a planet (Which FTL ships would), why wouldn't you just make the engines into weapons? Like, I guess nobody else has missiles in this universe, but even a dumb-fire rocket wouldn't be hard to figure out. Alternatively, you could just build an unmanned (or limited crew) FTL ship, point it at the planet you want to wreck, and just fly the ship into it. FTL artillery.
Poor strategy. Showing your enemy your weapons range. If you know their range is X you should not shoot at 4x range. Get to 1.5x open fire. Later they will assume that’s your max range. They increase to 1.3x they hope to close. You blast at 1.7x. Plus why expose all your weapons systems.
The alien aboard the human ship was a different race to the ones the humans were fighting, so they weren’t at war, and as far as the humans are concerned, in that situation u WANT to show off, to show the others how outclassed they are, in the hopes they’ll choose peace instead. Even if they plan to use what they learn to improve their own fleet, they still need to stay at peace first, or risk being destroyed before they’re ready. And with peace, comes the opportunity for understanding, the humans will use that period of peace to improve relations with them, removing the need for war altogether. Solid long term strategy… too bad the Galavrack were too headstrong to heed Humanity’s warning.
Now I understand why the humans now hate the Galactic Empire. They stood by and watched as humanity was attacked and almost lost, even after all the times the humans came and saved their asses..They should have known that eventually, the humans would win, even if it meant losing their home world. The Galactic Empire should have never stayed neutral while the humans were attacked. Cowards..😅
I don't thi k we humans are that smart. We would keep trying to make peace until half of us were wiped out, then we would finally make it a messy finish at great expense.
HFY stories are all about their authors showing what they think is the best (or worst) of humanity in scifi and fantasy settings. That's why it's called HFY: "Humans F*ck Yeah!" So yeah I agree with you, but you probably won't see that kind of behavior in these stories. Which is thank goodness for it. I see the worst of humanity everyday, I want to get a break from that once in a while.
2:57 made me grin with that “absolute proof” because I can relate 100%
"So, how do the humans fight?"
"...They throw stars at people."

Understandable, but human readers are easily found. 😊

Argo squirrel baby

Good stories deserve to be read/heard more than twice

It feels like there's a lot missing between part 1 in part 2
Yeah wtf.
Just looked up the original and there isn't anything missing. Guess it's supposed to get right to the point 🤷♂️
Just like humanity intended it
The Galavrack chose war… we gave them war… not our fault they brought 1700’s naval tactics to a WMD fight 😎
The Americans gave the Japanese better surrender terms in WWII, lol!
Well, to be fair, the Japanese didn’t blow up three colonies killing 1.3 million civilians
@@Fallout4277 No, they did it gradually over one country, China.

Suffer not the alien to live
The humanities in hfy are often exceedingly vengeful, violent, and in this case, hypocritical.
I would not be excited to be a part of this humanity.
I love the story’s so much i stay up into 3:00 clock
The Galavrck crossed the T. Opps.
Pretty good story .short and to the point. FJB.

The ambassador was an observer. He observed the 4x range and assumed it was the maximum (?).
That's probably what they did. Just put on a show to make it look good
And who said it was all of their weapons?
