Put the baking soda in the water first then mix and pour both into the spray bottle

If you don't want to wait with the funnel you can mix the water and baking soda mixture in a bowl first and than pour it in the bottle with the funnel 😉

I just made some, but instead of trying to funnel the baking soda/essential oil mix directly into the spray bottle, I mixed it with water in a separate bigger container first and then just easily poured the liquid through the funnel into the spray bottle. I'm not very patient so this worked better for me :)

Thx for the recipe....you forgot to mention that before each use that the container must be shaken to incorporate the oil and water...otherwise the oil floats to the top.

A small tip: if the baking soda-oil mixture is in the fennel on the bottle, poor also the water through the fennel ;-)

You got me hooked on essential oil! So many great benefits! I just got some sweet orange essential oil. It's like I just peeled oranges, so fresh! Will make some! Just need another spray bottle!

Just did this with tea tree oil, put a little less because tea tree oil can be overwhelming, works great! First place to try was the laundry dry room where the kitty litter box is!
Great video! I barely started making my own household cleaners because my baby is due in October and I'm trying to be more natural when it comes to cleaning. I do use febreeze after I vacuum my couches because I have 5 pets in the home, but I find that it runs out so quick and it's expensive. I'm definitely going to give this a try!

I left a comment on your blog asking you to make sure you know what essential oils are safe to use on and around children. Facebook groups "using essential oils safely" and "safe essential oil recipes" are closed groups you can request to join, and both have so much good information on eo safety. I learned a lot from these groups.
I use a chopstick to help get the baking soda down through the funnel. :)

I love fresh laundry smell, especially if it's not mixed with fabric conditioner. Just clean fresh scent. We hang our clothes to dry (tropical country) and that smell is just so relaxing after hours of doing the laundry.

You can also make one with lavender and other soothing scents for your bed. Perfect for spritzing on after you make your bed in the morning for all day freshness or spritz it on just before slipping under the sheets at night.

Couldn't you mix the baking soda in the water before pouring it into the bottle - would be much easier to fill the bottle?

I heard on someone else’s video that they mix the baking soda and essential oils beforehand because it helps the oils to coagulate with the water better. I know this isn’t precisely what you meant but I hope it still helps. 😊

I have 8 cats and 1 dog and this does not harm them. been using this remedy for over 1 yr. key thing. do not spray ur animals with it duh. if u feel like it, u can spray everything when they are not in the room wait 5 minutes then allow pets in room etc. for clogging issues I shake before each use. make sure u have the correct measurements of ingredients. I have had no problems at all

Great recipe, but I am curious to know how the baking soda doesn't kill the scent of the essential oil as it typically will neutralize most smells or odor...or does it act in this case as a salt to preserve the scent? Thanks!

It DID clog the nozzle, and I had to dump everything.
I just made some of this stuff. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is amazing and it smells sooooo good. I added a few drops of tea tree oil for an antibacterial. It smells very fresh in my home. I can't wait to use it on the three hockey bags that take residence here. :)

does the scent last? I tried a recipe with rubbing alcohol + water + essential oil and my only problem is that after 20 minutes the scent subsides.
