"it never will"
But what if it does? What would happen with this video if this fictional sinking was to become reality?
I thought another genuinely large ocean liner or cruise ship could never sing again and then the Costa Concordia sank almost 13 years ago proving once again mankind is not infallible and mother nature is waiting right behind us to hit us in the back of the head with the rifle buttstock of our own short attention span and arrogance
As the old saying goes never say never or never assume it can't happen again.
Oh I didn’t know! But still a good simulation, gained a follower
Hopefully doesn’t happen
Great quality! Only thing... this scenario is implausible. Queen Mary 2's bows are built with the thickest steel plates used for passenger ships and these are welded together. At most, she'd suffer lots of dents, scraped paint and other cosmetic bruising but highly doubtful such a collision as portrayed would even breach the hull.
So, imagining the sinking of QM2, Empress of Ireland is the possible scenario? Ramming in the side?
@@MysteryUser-Who-Is-MysteriousWhile The Other Ship Did Not Ram Empress Of Ireland, Yes.
@@CarsonsPlushiePalooza okay, English is not my first language, so I guess ramming is a purposeful action, and that's where I chose the wrong word. Collided then?
@@MysteryUser-Who-Is-Mysterious yes :D
In other words, god himself could not sink this ship.
I love the way the camera shakes like someone is holding it! THE CAMERA MAN NEVER DIES!!!
OMG! Amazing! The lifeboats deploying was a huge plus! You really surprised me! On the the next video can you sink her like Poseidon? If you can animate a huge wave, of course. Keep up the good work.
Thanks🥰 I will think about the request.
Bruhhhhhh
oh my
was it the Poseidon movie
(idk the real title)
like when theres a tsunami that hit thy poseidon?
It's honestly scary how fantastic water effects have come along. In that last shot if it weren't for the ships and lifeboats I wouldn't necessarily have been able to tell it was CGI!
As the creator of the "Pig Justice" model, it's a very awesome video animation! Especially with the fog, giving it an eerie feeling. Very nicely done!
Why the weird name is as follows; years ago I used to draw this vessel a lot, A fictional (converted) Salvage and rescue vessel from 1955, owned by a salvage company on Piggy Island (Angry Birds Crossover), and hence it got the name "Pig" lol. Over the years it became old and ended up making a 3d model of the vessel as a nice memory as I decided to move on and make other 3d ships. Also laughed a bit at her sinking, as in my ship's fictional records, it actually did sank after colliding with another vessel after her tow lines snapped while being towed (dead) during scale 11 Beaufort storm 😅.
Overall very appreciated and keep it up! 👍
Hey, Thanks! You are Bart D.G? I will add you into descriptions!
@@caljucotcas Yep thats the name! thanks for using one of my models too by the way!~ Feel free to add credit at any time!
@@dannyawxs HOW MANY DAMN HOURS DID IT MAKE YOU TO DO THIS COMMENT JESUS CHRIST
Yeah of course she does. At least you gave her the dignity of going down by the head.
For the people in the back, first of all, the only way something like this could have happened is if the radar had broken down. Otherwise, QM2 would've detected and maneuvered to avoid the other ship (Pig Justice lol) long in advance with plenty of room to spare. She does not and would not be travelling this fast in a fog bank, let alone if her radar were disabled.
Second of all, this collision would not have been nearly enough to sink QM2 irl. For reference, her namesake, the original Queen Mary, rammed the British light cruiser, HMS Curacoa, after a navigational accident on the part of both ships during WW2. She spilt the smaller vessel in half with no more damage done to her own bow that could be repaired within a couple of weeks. QM2 most likely would have done the same to this ship, as the conditions were almost exactly as they were for the Queen Mary and the Curacoa, minus the fog. Though even if she didn't, despite the stern of the other ship scraping alongside her hull as it looks to have done in this video, it wouldn't have been enough to penetrate her, let alone to flood enough water to sink her. More likely than not, it would just leave some nasty scratches and a dent, due to how thick and strong QM2's hull is (over 1 1/8" by the bow). And while I cannot speak as to what QM2's compartmentalization layout and capabilities are, as that is classified information, due to her ocean liner build and the fact that her capabilities are classified, even if water somehow penetrated the hull, she should be capable of surviving with at least 5 of her compartments fully flooded all at once.
Now if it were the bow of the other ship that struck her rather than the stern, on the other hand, then that might be a different story, since that's the part of a ship meant to cut through the water and potentially obstacles.
Good writeup. It is surprising how much force a ship an take if they bow-on ram a ship or obstacle. There was a video a while back about "what-if" the Titanic struck the iceberg head on (spoiler, she probably would of survived the hit but need a new bow) that goes over the technical and historical precedence for this in ship design and actual accidents.
Great animation, but kinda fanciful.
1) QM2 would've been sounding her foghorn continuously in those conditions.
2) She most definitely has enough navigational aids to avoid something like this.
3) With the watertight protection she's got, no way she would sink.
4) The other ship, though...yeah, that was pretty accurate. LOL
Well maybe not, but the Costa Concordia mamaged to sink to grounding damage.
@@CoffeeMonster12 wrong the queen Mary 2 has more protections than the costa Concordia
@@LevisathomeWhat are you trying to say
@@CoffeeMonster12 are u saying 2 compartment flooding can sink the qm2?
@@Levisathome No, I'm saying that no matter how secure thw ship might be, humans can still make errors which cause the loss of the whole ship. Like the grounding of the Concordia
Can you imagine being in a lifeboat and seeing something like that in real life? Thank God it is an animation!
It has happened plenty in the past. That final scene with the rescue liners was breathtaking.
@@carrisasteveinnes1596not with liners this size though
Amazing how the water stays in the swimming pools on the aft deck! 😆 Even when almost vertical it stays in place... Must be British quality water...!
both these comments cracked me upXD
1:58 that is such a terrifying view
Queen Mary 2 Never Sinks
Never ever say it can't happen because mankind can still be completely stupid as just under 13 years ago the Costa Concordia went down and technology hasn't advanced that drastically since then.
We as a species is literally that kid on a skateboard who's wearing all of his pads and his parents remind him to be careful even though you know there's that long railing that is tempting him to do the Rowley dark slide all the way down it and end up with an arm or a leg bent in a way that cannot be unseen with the bone protruding through the skin
Costa Concordia sank from ripping her hull open on a submerged rock. Completely different sort of damage, which flooded her engine room. Incompetent, show off captain caused her demise.
Queen Mary would not have sunk from this sort of collision!
That is not to say she couldn't be sunk at all, jst not by this collision.
@@stevenkarnisky411 my point may be broad in general but it still stands never say never when it comes to something man-made being destroyed by the careless hand or potential careless hand of us flawed humans.
If you're looking another vessel to do, this coming January is the 70th anniversary of the sinking of the ferry MV Princess Victoria. A animation of it sinking would be fascinating.
2:14 Wow you added people!
Love the video but the Queen Mary 2 wouldn't sink its bow would of been pushed in word and would not allow water to seep into the ship.
Pig Justice, lol, that was a hilarious name for a ship.
This type of animation skills covering real life actual historical sinking’s would be RUclips gold.
Unnecessary apostrophe
If the Queen Mary 2 sinks the ocean liners will be extinct.
This looks absolutely amazing! what software did you use to make this animation?
Tbh might be fictional but if it did shes the last official ocean liner left in the world would be the worst sinking disaster in many years with both vessels being lost and massive loss of lives definitely an interesting sinking animation and sanero 💯🙏
Cunard Might Sue you for this.
So be careful.
why? its fictional sinking. but thanks, im not the first one. who made this kinda animation.
You really think a ship company is scrolling through RUclips? lmao
Well... they have a youtube channel, but i don't think they're gonna bother about it, since they're already aware that something like these never actually happened to their ships.
@@trainsgod1042 interesting.
I think Ive been scammed. I honestly thought this is a real video and the QM2 really did sink. Omg. It's so realistic!!
Not sure the QM II would sink. Must have watertight bulkheads better than the Titanic.
yea it probably wont sink, its super strong
You might be interested in the MES
(Marine Evacuation System) units on most cruise ships
A lot of the crew's survival craft are the MES's and they're quite impressive to see operating
So there's no radar in this simulation? Or did some joker unplug it? 🙃 I'd think in order for it to sink that quickly would require a huge gash below the waterline opening up many watertight compartments, which seems inconsistent with the damage to the bow from a t-bone impact. But, the quality of the sim is pretty amazing nonetheless.
So far this is the best sinking animation I’ve seen. You included the accident, showing passengers as well as the lifeboats being launched. Most just show the ship sinking and nothing more.
I could see this happening a torpedo or a missile impacting the QM2 and shorting her electrical systems out or knocking out the generator which would've prevented automated water tight bulkheads from stopping the ship from flooding, but even then her damage control crews would've been sealing the water tight bulkheads with manual overrides. It is very difficult to sink a modern ship that displaces over a 100,000 tons of water. She'd need to be flooded with just as much water to overcome her buoyancy, and there's many, many watertight bulkheads and compartments that would need to be damaged and overcome for that to happen.
With that type of collision wouldn’t there be visible damage above the water lines on both ships? Something along the lines of the Andria Doria?
Not only never happened it could never happen this way
Nice Animation
You have always been a great story teller with your 3d models and lumi...
Collision is like the time Olympic collided with Nantucket
Tf is that ship made of, antiramium?
hope Cunard line enjoys this lol
Ironically I believe the RMS Queen Mary 1 survived an incident with the HMS curacoa in which it struck the cruiser similar to this animation.
Nothing's more satisfying than seeing two gigantic ships slamming in to each other.
YOU USED JAMES R BARKER HORN :O
that's what I thought too
Yes, i did

Fantastic
Fabulous
THIS LOOKS SO REAL!!!
I’m a Maritime expert, and I shall say that this scenario would be impossible. Not the part where the smaller ship sinks, but where the QM2 sinks. Ships today have much better watertight systems and safety features than back in, say the 1910s, when the *RMS Empress of Ireland*, was struck by the *SS Storstad** in 1914. I will also say that the horn you just heard at 1:55, that horn belongs to the 1004’ Freighter, the *M/V James R. Barker* , a freighter that operates for the Interlake Steamship company in the Great Lakes, or my home waters.
Yeah, i dont ever see this happening. 1st of all. When Olympic the Nantucket ship on May 15, 1934. Olympic stayed afloat with ease. Also dont get me started on how the bow would help alot with keeping the QM2 from sinking.
nice animation but if this was real she wouldn't have sunk, it would just have bent a few hull plates like what happened when olympic sunk the nantucket light ship
She went down pretty quickly. Out did Titanic. Thousands death. WoW. Gee.
1) How is sinking ? Where is damage exactly ?
2) Why sinking so fast ?
3) How a such as small vessel can cause 345 meters long ocean liner sink this way ?
The Queen Mary 2 is the most beautiful boat of all time, the only one in my opinion that surpasses the Olimpic Class and the QM 1 in aesthetics. There is another one just as beautiful but it is from a movie, Poseidon.
Hello Hay Everybody How Many Years in this incident
Mary Queen Ship
To be honest the queen Mary 2 could have survived that crash due to modern hull these days so that scenario would be unlikely.
Lmao imagine being that chill that y'all just sank a ship and yours is about to go down :P
In your box of tricks - well done might i say. Would it be possible to do an aircraft carrier going down
That collision would not have sank the Queen Mary 2. Or even the Titanic.
Qm2 has a hell lotta wt bulkheads and compartments you know....
If that did happen, Ocean liners would be extinct
A head on collision with a vessel that size would absolutely not bring down the Queen Mary
That horn sounds like it's from the James R Barker...🤔
Incredible that’s how quick the Estonia went down just like that
LoL У ,,Титаник,, перегородки в корпусе были лучше.
nice video but it gave queen mary a bad name in this video after her sinking the oasis claas ships come to the resque
Pig Salvage Co sounds like an American company
So is this the recreation of the olympus ship crashing into another ship?
I'm sailing on her in June, and if this happens then I shall want a refund!
That fake sinking is kinda like sink of britannic but still great vid.
Cool "What If" scenario.
Good god it's like Manchester City in the 90s
I’m gald it will never sink we had enough ships sinking
réalistic , but too fast . big boat like that don't sink fast
Bad,. Sinking its soo fast 😂😂😂
so why did you make the animation,a waste of resources
i thought the queen mary 2 was sinking like the titanic
You think you can do an animation of the greek cruise ship, Sea Diamond?
She was a cruise ship that went down in Santorini after hitting a reef and only two lives were missing. It took 15 hours for her to go down, struck at 4 pm and submerged the next morning at 7 am.
This should help: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_Sea_Diamond
Thanks! I think i can do it yes.
Any good Ship simulator?
Hi and I like you videos the video is amazing
LOOK LIKE TITANIC
Titanic 2.0
How many souls aboard Mr. Murdock?
Why's queen mary 2 is sinking?!
How is it that the water remained in both pools?
Bye-bye, queen Mary two😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Layar Jiun kpl tngglm
TITANIC sinking into the same time
Actually, this is not too far off from what DID happen in 1942 during WWII when the first Queen Mary collided with and sunk the British cruiser HMS Curacoa after splitting her in two - Curacoa was escorting The Queen Mary about 50 miles off the coast of Ireland and providing anti-air protection. The Queen Mary survived the ordeal.
Bow sinkings are overrated and too booring
Pig Salvage ship was hit on the side and would probably break apart or get a huge gash and sink. The QM2 hit head on which ships are historically able to survive, with some crushing and buckling, and would probably not sink.
More longer your videos next time !
These are some great human models.
You forgot the happy ending where the rescue ships hit the lifeboats and then each other. Everything sinks. Everyone dies. The end. 🙃😁
