Always good to hear from you Lewis... a good friend of mine is named Lewis too. Glad to see you are visiting and watching several of our videos. We hope that we have planned some important new ones that help you this year. Dr. Russ
Sniperkota ... it is good to hear from you. We hope you keep us in your loop. Fortunately, I was able to get a Woodchuck at 65 yards in our next video ... Dr. Russ
Stant Bradley ... it is good to hear from you ... and thanks for the compliments ... some good videos are coming... We hope they are helpful to you... Dr. Russ
Hi Dr. Russ, Thanks for the video. I've been using the new FX True Ballistic Chronograph for a couple weeks now and it's great. I don't remember if you have a video about how important a chronograph can be to air gunners. If you get a chance give one a try and if you haven't made a video about chronograph's please consider it. We have been out hunting woodchucks with the Airforce Texan in 50 cal. Great fun! Be safe, Talk soon, Rick
Always good to hear from you Rick... I have the first generation chronograph ... and have used it either visable or in a private shooting session ... so that I could address fps in our videos. More use coming this week. Hopefully you can share some of the new features and their value now that you have some experience with it. Dr. Russ
Hola Dr . Russ , always good 2 hear you words of wisdom , I want to thank you for caring for the person behind the gun grasias 100 % .. when you have a chance ck the New air venturi avenge X line ... 🐗🐐🐀🐇🐓 🍺🍺💙👍🇵🇷
Pedro ... always good to hear from you ... and yes I have purchased the old and new versions of the air venturi Avenger line. Will be doing reviews comparing the new with the original... probably in early August. Thanks again... Dr. Russ
Good to hear from you Jest Nutz... and watching after those around you is what is not expected ... and so you become a much better person to those around you. It is just the opposite of one of your friends, saying ... He only watches or cares about himself.
When I first saw one of your videos, I thought you were a quak, lol. I have since figured you have something to say and I get something out of every one of your video’s.
Alan .... well you are right when referring to someone outside the normal box ... but my only goal is to share the truth about air guns and help everyone enjoy them to the fullest... Dr.Russ
Just thought of a question…have you ever heard of any restrictions transporting your airguns across state lines? Anything you can share in a future video?
Thanks Al ... I thought that I might have included that important info in a previous video ... perhaps the videos we did in the Rocky Mtns.... regardless, we will cover that again. The good news for you right now is that we dont know of any restrictions driving across state lines with air guns (powder guns do have restrictions and airlines have numerous rules on keeping all guns in locked case with ammo locked up too) . Pyramyd Air has an excellent section on their web site that lists hunting restrictions in each state ... ie what calibers and what animals in each state. Dr. Russ
Hi Dr. Russ. Great inspirational video. Makes us think and take notice. Like your hat for instance. I have come up against a wall of sorts. I am looking for a scope that I can record my shots with. I am looking at a Sightmark Wraith 4 K Max. Have you had an opportunity to use one? I don't night hunt but I would like to have a good day scope. Thank you and Dr. Paula. God Bless us all.
Coincidentally I was just considering starting a air gun group for the local kids. We have an old archery range that never got used maybe I can talk to city council and figure out ways in which we could .. reconstruct
So I finally pulled the trigger got myself a 22 cal Air Venturi Avenger Bullpup, Regulated PCP I should have it in my hot little hands in about a week from Pyramyd Air I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas day
@@russjones6497 I do have one question for you is it ok to leave the gun cocked when it's on my stand not in use I know your supposed to keep some air pressure in for the seals but I was wondering if leaving it cocked could damage anything or not
Monkeys can shoot PCPs accurately. The real challenge in airgun shooting is recoiling, springers and gas-rams. Mastering the hold of the rifle and the two way recoil is a unique shooting challenge. No, PCP or firearm presents a challenge that's so complex. I've done PCPs and there souless super accurate machines and present no real challenge to shoot compared to Springers and Gas-rams. Obviously if it's all about power thats your route and choice.
G.M. thanks for your note. Unfortunately, the springers, gas rams, and break barrels arent made for ranges out past 50 yards... and with some exceptions, thats where PCP's come in. Dr. Russ
I just bought a Ruger air hawk elite 2. It's dieseling from the factory oils. Should I just continue to break it in or should I clean? All comments and opinions are invited...
Michael Smith ... good to hear from you ... Dieseling has the ability to damage parts in your gun. I believe it is more important to clean out all of the grease that the mfgs put into those barrels and breaches first. Dr. Russ
I have some pellets that have a small amount of lead on the edge of the tail. Like a tab, some on the top edge/lip and some just on the edge/lip but inside the tail. I have to assume they're junk ? New rifle, should I use them for leading in the barrel or just throw them away ?
Jake Brake Bill ... as long as the rest of the pellet is made of a soft metal ... like copper or led ... or any of the light weight pellets, I would use them ... the leading in process allows soft medals to fill the unseen pores in the barrel, as well as take any metal spurs off of the rifling.... some guns require 100 shots ... while others require up to 500 shots... You will see your groups tighten up to know if they have prepared the barrel for shooting...Keep in touch ... and it was good to hear from you ...Dr. Russ
@@russjones6497 Ok thank you, yeah, I just burnt them up this morning. I figured they wouldn't be too accurate with that extra bit of lead. Again, thanks for the fast response.
Thank you Dr. Russ!

2:45 good story, it's easy to look after yourself but to sacrifice and look after others is another type of honour that will send you to heaven.
