How to unblock a shower drain - smart tile floor waste

This is how to fix a blocked shower drain with a smart tile floor waste. This is a very common problem with a simple fix. The smart tile floor waste system is great, however some of them have an issue with the grate / strainer holes being so small that they constantly cause a blockage. Hair and shampoo products block the grate causing the water to not flow through or become very slow to drain. This simple fix will unclog and clear the blockage and help prevent it from re occurring so frequently.

The insert is a section of tile. Just glued in.
