Being born as Caucasian female with naturally Blonde/brunette hair, blue/green colored eyes, fair/slightly tanned skin. What more could you ask for, life couldn't be any better than this.
You certainly do get the benefits of white privilege, however white privilege by itself doesn’t make a woman more attractive or desirable than she actually is. (Speaking as a male) I (and many other men, including white men) would pick a more attractive darker skinned woman of different/mixed ethnicity over an average looking white woman, a females white privilege doesn’t really offer any benefit towards men itself (esp other white guys) because women get social and physical protection + respect when paired with men, not the other way around. That inherent social privilege is only of use if the woman comes from a very wealthy family or something like that. Essentially, a woman being white offers no inherent importance to most men. What’s important is is she actually physically attractive? Her face, body, hair, etc. Just letting you know how most (80%) men think btw. Of course there’s always a small group in each group of men that have very specific preferences.
It's obv unethical but even if we do, there will be a point where attractiveness won't be dependent on tall and beautiful people (or any other favorable alleles).
Taller people are not the healthiest, generally the taller a person is, the more likely they are to have cardiovascular problems in old age, this is because the heart must make greater effort to pump, this is not a problem when you are young, at advanced ages the probability of a heart attack increases greatly, in contrast shorter people tend to be healthier in their hearts in old age. According to attraction studies, tall men tend to be more attractive to women, and command more respect from other men, however this does not happen with women, shorter women tend to be more attractive compared to women. tall, however taller women command more respect than short women
If we talk about intelligence, there is no clear correlation between beauty and intelligence, but there is a correlation between face shape, intelligence and certain social behaviors, people with elongated faces tend to have higher levels in cognitive tests, and have a more introverted personality, people with a wider face tend to be more extroverted and have a more dominant attitude, or a more ideal attitude for a leader, people with long and wide noses tend to have more empathy (but it does not mean that are nicer), people with shorter and less wide noses tend to be less empathetic, people with a larger chin tend to have more resistance to stress, people with high cheekbones have more self-esteem but also have a greater tendency toward selfishness .
I believe you see this more organically with adolescents except for extreme or awkward height in males(growth spurts). Attractive kids are also favored by teachers.
This is true. I always get hired, people are always nice to me and I was always given things for free. When I walked into the room, people noticed me. People always remember me. I was left in debt over this whole dental assistant school, had to jump on first employer who offered a hire cuz I was about to get evicted with a child. That employer was a nursing home cleaning. 2 mos later that same dr called me and demanded I come in next day cuz pretty princess didn’t work out- I told him no, I already lost my daycare slot and back on waiting list and I wasn’t gonna burn the one employer who hired me even tho I’m ugly. He called me 3 times raging even showed up at the nursing home and even got into the hallways to call me stupid for doing this job instead of working for him. At that point I was terrified he wasn’t nice to begin with and now his behavior is like 48 hours territory . So as someone who's paid the ugliness tax and also experienced pretty privelege, it's 💯 true for both sides. I grew up the ugly duckling and didn't grow into my looks until my late teens. The world treats you differently based on appearance and that's just the sad truth. But as someone who's been terribly bullied for being fat and ugly, but also been showered with attention for being skinny and beautiful, I don't get swayed by the compliments or the privilege. It sounds strange but I actually turn it down and say things like, "there are far more important things in life than how you look". Which puzzles people... But I guess I feel like I'm doing my tiniest bit to change the status quo on the POV. 😅🙌
Fun fact: people who get an education difference in salary between ppl with no uni education is 300k on average per lifetime. Attractive people dont have it significantly easier, even if u believe they do then start working and stop feeling bad. im brutally honest, my mom and dad arent gorgeous but each make 6 figures
Don't said like that guy not everyone who attractive just got what they want like that. Sometimes pretty can cause so much chaos...just be grateful for what you all got right now because not pretty or handsome doesn't mean you can success in this life....life not just abaut face but in the inside of you heart it's more important. 😊
There is something to be said about the fact that in adults, attractiveness requires the discipline to take care of yourself and/or improve And people appreciate that discipline
I’ve seen the difference first hand It’s true. I’ve always been tall but When I was a kid up into my early 20s I was overweight and my skin was bad NOW my skin cleared up and I lost A LOT of weight and now I’m conventionally handsome I GUESS.. I literally get compliments from men and women. my point is once I got pretty the world treats you COMPLETELY DIFFERENT and you would think this would make me happy now but it DISGUSTS ME. because I know now how people would treat me if I didn’t look good now.
You can also be attractive in a way that make people think that the only thing, you have, is your looks. You're so attractive, that you will be perceived as stupid and as a child. It also has it down sides to be attractive
I went from fat and “ugly” and now I’m in good shape and attractive and people literally CHANGED their existing perception of my intelligence.. I’m the same people and they’re the same people and they don’t listen to me anymore
I would say charisma rather than prettiness/handsomeness. Like you could be a 7 but you will be seen more attractive if you have 10 charisma, compared with a 10 with 1 charisma
Right I would also like to see this data factored for self-confidence, charisma, high self worth and mental health/disability. I don’t think the world is all that much better to attractive people who are not extremely confident. It might be that it’s actually the confidence and entitlement that *can* come with being attractive that shapes people’s behavior so they are better able to convince people to give them what they want.
I would probably be more likely to hire the less attractive candidate, given they both have equally good hygiene and answers to interview questions. It's probably silly and really highlights my bias, but i would likely feel like the less attractive candidate would be a harder worker and be less entitled.
I dont believe the babies one. I believe babies are cute in general. That is part of their survival skills , and we are brainwired to think that our babies are cute. Anything associated with baby-like , automatically becomes cute.

I think with attractiveness also comes confidence to some extent which then makes it easier to negotiate better conditions when starting a new role. I think it’s a multi factorial issue
This isnt a bias towards attractive people, this is from the "general factor of genetic health" that coincides with being more attractive. People who are genetically healthier for example also have better immune systems meaning they can combat viruses and have less deficiencies growing up allowing them to grow symmetrically and to their maximum phenotypic height. Intelligent people (people who score higher on IQ tests and school results) are also more attractive because of the same "genetic health factor".

I prefer brunettes with volume speaking bambi brown eyes. You westerners are just good at deluding yourselves.
The hair colour, eye colour, skin colour, doesn't mean anything; as an ugly person can have all of those.
So the question is should we use crisper technology to not only to eliminate genetic diseases but to create genetically tall beautiful people?
It's obv unethical but even if we do, there will be a point where attractiveness won't be dependent on tall and beautiful people (or any other favorable alleles).
How tall is tall enough if we can set any height? 2m, 3m, 55m?

There is something to be said about the fact that in adults, attractiveness requires the discipline to take care of yourself and/or improve
And people appreciate that discipline
Indeed! Looking attractive means one takes care of themselves which is the result of discipline and effort. Thus desirable!

Nah 10's make people lose their minds. 10's get away with anything.
Maybe a 9 or an 8 with 1 charisma will lose to that 7 [with perfect charisma].
I would probably be more likely to hire the less attractive candidate, given they both have equally good hygiene and answers to interview questions. I think with attractiveness also comes confidence to some extent which then makes it easier to negotiate better conditions when starting a new role. I think it’s a multi factorial issue
Note to self: "Be an attractive mf".

The biases regarding socially constructed beauty
There are fundamental and constant measures of attractiveness.
Be pretty = Better Life
I think its difficult. There are many studies about attractiveness and many contradict easy other. E.g. I heard that people think attractive people are more intelligent but on the other hand people underestimate attractive people
Where did you read that attractive people are underestimated?
Anecdotal story, my coworker who is cute is so fucking dumb, but she hasn’t been fired yet..she makes mistakes all the time like it’s her first day but she’s been there a year…but she’s small and pretty and if she was ugly I know my boss would have fired her by now, the confidence my bosses have in her is unfounded..her sense of style and appearance are what she has going for her... I’m also small and cute but not as small and cute as her, my leniency I’ve got for mistakes is way less.
